Cute little bakery! They have a lot more variety of baked goods compared to the few other bakeries I visited nearby. From Danish pastries, cookies and bread to muffins and donuts! I love how they are displayed very neatly behind the glass counter. Stuff were very friendly and patient while we decide which pastries we want to get. The almond strudel I got is very flaky and has a moist center with almond paste. The pastry itself is not too sweet and has a nice subtle almond flavor. Highly recommend getting that with coffee! Excellent customer service. They are fiendly and kind. In Solvang they have so many bakeries, however each bakery have different selections of pastries, unique taste and art of doing it. The Solvang Bakery is one of them. Coffee is great! They even have a small area on the front entrance that you can sit and enjoy your coffee and pastries. The best place of Solvang! This place is a MUST! Whether it's your first time here or 100th time, you can't pass up this place when you're in town. Many people, including myself, come here to pick up some freshly baked treats for my family back at home, or I dine in and indulge in my sweet treat. If you're not into sweets, you can probably find something here to try. There's always a line of people to buy something from here but it's worth the wait. read more

So good. The service was wonderful. The folks working there were really helpful and kind. We already knew what we were getting when we walked in, but ended up snagging a slice of the butter ring after we had walked around a bit. Of course we had to get the jalapeño, cheese, and poppyseed bread. The butter ring was REALLY rich, but so good. Just wish we would've had a cup of coffee to go with it. We ended up taking down that loaf of jalapeño cheddar bread throughout the weekend. It was really great warmed up, and we might be swinging by the bakery on our way back up to the bay to grab another loaf. Will definitely be back! read more

Wow!! We drove through Solvang and I needed to try something from one of the many bakeries! This place was right next to me so I went in and grabbed two goodies; one of the Sarah Bernhardts and a small almond covered one and WOW. I will be craving these for a long time to come. Went for a quick daytrip and our navigation app led us to the parking spaces by this bakery. So glad it did! Of course, what is a visit to a Danish village without Danish baked goods so of course we had to stop by! My daughter wanted the strawberry cupcake so I got her that and I got an eclair and a cream puff to add to our order. Strawberry cupcake was light and fresh and the eclair and cream puff were the best ones I've ever tasted, without any exaggeration. When we finished it, I was thinking maybe I should've bought more and should have tried their other danishes but maybe next time when we come back. I make sure to stop here every time I am in the area! Not only is it one of the more affordable bakeries in Solvang, but it has the best location for pictures. They have a wide variety of pastries and breads to choose from, as well as other goodies. This time we tried a seasonal sugar cookie as well as a lemon danish. The sugar cookie was good, nothing amazingly special, but the danish was very surprising! I am not usually a big fan of danishes in general but I am of this one. This bakery is super cute. They have samples of gingerbread houses with gingerbread families out on display. Assorted baked goods are wrapped and ready to purchase along the shelves and other great baked goods can be found in the clear cases at the front counter. There's tables and chairs right out front if you'd like to enjoy your purchase then and there. We wanted to try the kringle, which we had read about. But to our surprise, it was ginormous! It was like the size of a 9x13 pan. They did offer to cut it in half and sell half, but that was still way too much. We just wanted a sample. So, unfortunately, we did not try the Kringle, but did try a gingerbread man from here and an assortment of other pastries from another bakery a block away. read more

The Solvang Bakery is very cute with solid Danish pastries. My favorite was the almond Kringle that they allow you to purchase by the slice $5.95. The apple strudel was my second favorite $3.95. My husband liked his cheese danish, but I wasn't a fan. I've had much better elsewhere including Whole Foods. My son picked kid favorites like the crunchy cinnamon sugar circle thing. He liked it, but he said he liked my apple strudel the best. Next time we're in Solvang we're going to try some other bakeries so we can compare. Grabbed a small pack of butter cookies (fantastic as always), a mocha iced coffee, a chocolate dipped cream puff (DO not leave without trying this, oh em gee it was sinful), and 2 pastries for home! Incredibly, despite being born and reared in Southern California, I had never been to Solvang before this weekend. Goodness knows I've driven by a thousand times heading north or south, but I never had the occasion to stop in and look around. That changed this past weekend, when Mrs. Picante and I wandered in on a misty morning. Fighting the urge to throw things at ostriches from the highway, we continued down to Solvang proper, parked in the last spot in the public lot, and found a little breakfast place. After an hour of post-breakfast shopping, I was hungry again... well, not hungry, exactly... just not not-hungry... which means, you can totally eat something sweet and decadent from a bakery. As luck would have it, we stumbled upon the aptly named Solvang Bakery, appropriately nestled in the shadow of a fake windmill, and featuring little flower boxes in the windows and a cutesy paint job inside and out. The cases inside were filled with all sorts of turnovers, Danishes (did you see what I did, there?), pastries, creamy things, sweet things, crunchy-crusted things... definitely not your jam if you're on Keto. I ordered up a cheese danish, heated, and sat on the back patio to enjoy. Everything looked great, and the staff working there was very nice. Free samples on the counter were a bonus, and were actually better than what I ordered, but what else is new? Definitely recommend this spot, but can't compare to the other bakeries in the town yet, because my diet hypocrisy goes only so far. read more

Walked up the street and stopped in here for a quick breakfast - great decision! The blueberry muffin was light (not dense like other muffins) and perfectly sweetened. They are big on gingerman stuff here. We stopped in a bought a gingerman cookie ($4.95 per cookie). It was fine--but walking away all we were talking about is how expensive the gingerman cookie was. In the window they have a gingerman house--we joked about how if the small cookie cost $4.95, then the house must cost $10,000. But hey, that's not bad, because a house in Solvang is $800,000. I guess this is what they mean by inflation? They also had great smelling bread with cinnamon on it and an apple strudel cake. I would come back for more gingerman stuff, but next time I will need to stop at my banker first. read more

the service was horrible. the girls gave us little to no attention. when asked for a latte they said they didn't have hot water, therefore all the could offer was plain coffee.
