I feel like everything in Solvang is cute but a pink storefront is definitely calling me to come inside. They have tons of delicious baked goods and all kinds of fun trinkets. It's a great place to get gift, cupcakes and coffee! I stopped by before work to pickup pastries for my team and was so excited that they also have a full espresso bar - coffee also served in pink cups and my oat milk cappuccino was delightful. On a weekday morning it wasn't too busy, but I'm sure it's packed on the weekends. While visiting Solvang I happened upon this bakery that had a nice variety of bakery items. I opted for the last apricot danish. I figured if those sold out first, it must be for good reason, I was right. Fluffy and sweet the whole way through, with fresh tasting apricots, this nice sized danish was one of the tastiest I've ever had. The bakery is small and has some tourist trinkets you can buy along with your baked goods. It was brightly colored, and had some tables in front. I'll definitely be coming back when in Solvang again. 5 stars for this cute little bakery! My husband and I stopped by yesterday am while we were walking around the town of solvang. When we walked in, we were greeted by two friendly and kind women not sure if they are mother and daughter, but they both were very sweet and welcoming. I can understand how hard it is for this bakery to be in competition with the other larger bakeries in the area, but my husband and I walked into almost every bakery in the Little town of solvang and did not find pastries as fresh and delicious looking as this one. My husband ordered the strawberries and cheese danish warmed up, and I ordered a regular cheese danish warmed up. The young woman working at the counter accidentally got my order wrong and I was able to walk my pastry back in and let her know and she was very kind and gave me my correct order. Their shop is really clean. We stood in line behind a couple of locals who were ordering their dessert orders for the week so we could tell that this was a local favorite. Their shop was very clean, filled with a lot of cute bakery things to buy and the pastries were the best quality around that we could see. Would definitely recommend supporting this small business again. Can't wait to return! read more

Visited here at Christmas time and the shop was decked out with ginger bread houses and Christmas decorations. They had a section in the back with cute decorations and trinkets for sale, including a bunch of cute birthday stuff like candles and tiaras. I didn't get any of the traditional danish pastries here, but I did get some chocolate chip cookies that are baked fresh daily by a friend of the shop and brought in to be sold. The cookies were so delicious- loaded with chocolate chips and topped with sea salt. Ended up taking them home because of all the sweets we ate during our visit, popped them in the microwave for a few seconds and couldn't even tell they were a few days old at that point. read more

Over the weekend we've been on a quest to find the best rum balls and butter cookies. We stopped at 6 bakeries and this was our favorite. The rumballs were so moistest and chocolatey - couldn't taste much rum though but for texture and overall flavor was our favorite. Loved the apricot butter cookie with hint of almond. Perfect balance and again soft and fresh. Random staff pick was the Sarah cookie - omg this is out of this world. This trip to Solvang, I decided to compare the bakeries that were open which were Olsen's, Danish Mill, and Solvang Bakery. Olsen's is the most popular, but also the priciest generally. Napoleon Hats: $3 - these were good, and I liked these better than the ones at Olsen's Bakery more ($3.75). The ones taste more buttery and have the marzipan in the middle less chewy(?) or more integrated with the pastry somehow vs. Olsen's. Butter Cookies: $9 - if you want a set of butter cookies, but not a tub, they have a smaller version that I enjoyed. It didn't have any of the really soft butter cookies that I was craving, but I'm not sure if any of the tubs would have that. They had a mix of raisin coconut cookies, frosted coconut cookies, regular butter cookies, and one more I can't remember. This bakery tends to be a little cheaper than the other ones it seems, but at similar if not better quality, so I think I would try the baked goods here first next time. read more

From San Francisco, Tahoe, to Big Bear yesterday, and now SOLVANG. I think I'm ready to Go Home after this ;) Today we decided to visit Solvang 'coz it been like 17 years that I haven't Visited this place. As always, this place is so adorable, it's like you've been transported to Europe. There's lots of gift shops to visit, and lots of selections for where to eat and drink. I love their Danish look of the Village the most. One place that really caught my eye was this Cute Bakery called "SOLVANG BAKERY". It's Really cute, it's set up like a small House with a Front yard with Gates, Pink chairs, and tables :) My Son and I wen't inside and my husband stayed outside 'coz he has our dog. But I saw a dog section where they sold Dog Cookies and right away I knew that our dog Bambam could also go inside! There's so many selections in the Bakery, but the first thing that I picked up was a Coffee Mug that had Solvang on it. The rest that we purchased were: *DOG BISCUITS for BAMBAM. *A CUP CAKE *A CHOCOLATE SLICE *A CROISSANT with HAM & JALAPEÑO-CHEESE *FRENCH MACARON The Cupcake and Cake slice were both Chocolaty, but just perfect, not too sweet at all. The Macarons were good, but as not as good as the La Jolla SD Macarons. The Ham and Cheese Jalapeño was so good! It had a good Crispiness when I bit its outside, but it was super soft inside. And the Spice and the ham & cheese was so good together. And Bambam, our Dog, didn't eat his biscuit, maybe he isn't really into sweets 'coz the biscuits had vanilla icing, but he loved my Croissant ;) Also I got a Free cup of Coffee when I Bought their Mug. The Staff here are very Nice and really a Pet Friendly! I will make another visit here again in SOLVANG in a Month and I will check the Santa Barbara area and our home in Port Hueneme. Haven't been here for a couple of years, glad to see they are still with us! I come here for the breads mainly, which are fresh baked daily. They have several varieties, including today's offerings of jalapeno onion cheddar (thought I'd start with the least Danish one! ), cheddar cheese, cinnamon bread monkey style, iced cinnamon bread and cardamom bread. Today they had a special, "buy 3 get one free" but it was too much for me as I am here all week, and wouldn't eat them right away. I did buy two to send off, however. They also had some "day old" offerings, which are still plenty fresh in my opinion - good choice if they have a flavor you want. They also have other offerings here as well, especially the petit fours (a whole display case of them!), macaroons, and of course pastries, of which I bought a cinnamon Danish - they had ones with raisins, apples and I can't recall the other option - time to start writing these things down, I guess! I choose the raisin one. They also have strudels (don't ask me the flavors!) by the slice - or whole, I guess, if you wish! They are also known for their Gingerbread Houses, and you have to preorder to ensure you even have a chance at one! Delightful designs. The help here is always friendly, and you can see them on occasion bringing our fresh baked items from the back. If you're in a mood for bread, this is the ONLY bakery I come to for a fix - and it will take the edge off your sweet tooth as well! read more

Cute little bakery in Solvang handled the HUGE crowds real well yesterday. Never have seen so many people in Solvang before. Located up the block from our hotel, we decided to stop by here to get some breakfast. Solvang Bakery is a boutique Danish bakery selling more than traditional Danish baked goods. They make quaint to elaborate gingerbread houses that are favorites of the Kardashians, Kelly Ripa and have been featured on the Ellen Show and Hallmark's Home and Family. With our coffee in hand, we got a ham and cheese croissant and a slice of almond butter ring. The croissant was light and flaky but wish there was more ham and cheese in it. The almond ring had a flaky shell with a base layer of almond paste. If you like almonds, you would like this. We enjoyed our pastries in a cute garden in back which has four tables. They also have a couple tables in front. Solvang Bakery offers your traditional Danish and modern bakery items. I'll be back to try other items during my next visit. read more
