I checked the ratings for this company before I brought my Technics amplifier in to be repaired. After a brief conversation with whomever answered the phone, I brought my Technics amplifier in to be repaired. I called a few days later, and they said they had no record of it coming in. I said I paid the $30, so I have a receipt I bought it. He said sorry, as if that was it , and goodbye. I became upset, and obviously he did not think that it was appropriate that I was upset that he lost my property, so he hung up on me. After that another gentleman called, and said he would look for it. They found it and would work on it that day. My problem with the tuner/amplifier was I had to giggle the volume button a couple times to get it to come on - not all the time, but it was progressive. Indicated there was a short, I would assume. After they got done working on, which he said was not repairable as too many issues with the main board, and was more interested in selling me a stereo that was consigned to his shop, he said it had been dropped and he just could not fix it. It was dropped 23 years ago (I assume by movers during my move here), which I noticed 23 years ago, and has worked since. He put it back together badly. It was rattling when I picked it up, and I said nothing, because the one gentleman was not approachable. I got it home, plugged it back in, and now it does not work at all, the inputs in the back are really loose and coming out, and it stated "overload" when I hooked it back up. He made a mess of things. So I paid $30 to have them completely ruin my amplifier. I am just so upset. read more

I have to agree with all of the reviews on this site. Guy came out and couldn't have been nicer or more patient. Made sure that all of my connections were properly hooked up in newly purchased older receiver. Answered all of my questions and made sure that I was satisfied. When I profusely thanked him he responded, "That's what I do". That's what he does and he does it well. read more

Sent a request on Yelp for some service on my turntable. The Sound Guy responded in about 5 minutes and suggested that I bring it in. I received friendly, honest and excellent service. They switched out some parts and now my turntable works great. Old time, quality home town service. read more

I have a 14 year old Klipsch subwoofer - a triangular shaped monster with three speakers who's amp died and couldn't turn on. I took it to the Sound Guy who was undaunted by the repair. Unfortunately, Klipsch stopped carrying replacement parts - that didn't stop the Sound Guy. After getting my ok, he put a new amp of his own design in, hide it beautifully so it can't be seen, and left everything else as it was. I plugged it back in at home and it works as good as new and at a very reasonable price. I strongly recommend the Sound Guy. He's straight up and a master at his craft. And ... a great problem solver. read more

I went to the sound guy to have a 7' touchscreen radio with rear camera installed in our older manual toyota. We wanted to have the rear camera and bluetooth so that the focus can be on driving and the road for our young driver. This place is truly a "diamond in the rough". They are experts and know all things both old and new regarding sound hence the great business name! I was provided an extremely reasonable quote, estimate on the time frame and everything was completed 100% in line with what I was told. This shop will be our go to for all future installs, and referral for friends and families in need of updates or repairs as well. I was treated with world class service and so glad they were able to do it so quickly and we could surprise our child with the upgraded vehicle. read more

I have a 43 year old Pioneer SX-880 receiver purchased in 1978 when i was still in high school. It was a very sad day when "The music died" recently. Thankfully they were able to repair my Pioneer to it's original ear splitting sound. They even gave my HPM=100 speakers some general maintenance. Repairs were longer than anticipated. But I believe that was a supply chain issue, not a repairman issue. These "Guys" are amazing! There's not many individuals left with the craft and skills to do these repairs without a schematic. Also if your a stereo/sound junkie, they have some amazing retro equipment for sale. I might have to return for a cassette player. Highly recommended! Guy repaired my 1963 GE console stereo and turntable. My console was too big for his shop so he put me in touch with Nick to come to my house and remove the electronics. Nick was great he took it to Guy and he quickly did the work (Nick brought it back and reinstalled it). My console was dead and now everything works and sounds great! My grandkids are really digging it as it is the first time they have heard and seen vinyl being played. Excellent service, excellent job and excellent experience. The Sound Guy is the very BEST!!! The owner, Guy, does excellent work and he is honest and reasonably priced. He fixed my Aragon Power Amp that was overheating. He even taped the faulty parts to the top of the amp - a really nice gesture and show of honesty. Turn around time was fast. I think "Guy" is actually his name. Anyway he does great work. We installed a new stereo/android auto system in my Corvette. It was a bit of a learning process for both of us, but his expertise saved the day. He knew short cuts that I didn't imagine. He worked until everything was just as I wanted it to be. Guy was ready at the time scheduled and did an amazing job. I have a 2013 Camaro and the back seats and paneling had to be taken out to install the rear speakers. Guy was very professional and careful not to damage anything during the install. I needed my Yamaha "Stage Piano" fixed. It wasn't turning on, and it wasn't the cord. Guy had me show up first thing in the morning. Took it apart and repaired it as I was standing there. I brought in my Marantz 22 series receiver which I purchased in 1973 to have a few lamp bulbs replaced. He put in LED and the display looks amazing. In addition to replacing bulbs he tuned up the unit and the receiver is still running on all cylinders. This all in just 3 days. read more
