Debbie was nice and soft but that wasn't I was expecting in the massage. Very soft. The massage is not that cheap. It's $109 for an hour. Though I keep getting text messages of confirmation of my booking but they never mentioned that my therapist is not available today else I could have rescheduled for tomorrow. I spoke to a person at the front desk who seems not bothered by whatever you say he was just there to making bookings. On top of that I gave a tip in cash for the therapist. This was the first time I ever tipped anything lower, and it was 17% - which is pretty generous considering I should have tipped nothing. The masseuse had a cold and was breathing heavily right by my ear and sniveling the whole time. It was so gross, that halfway through when both masseuses left the room (for a rather long time - which happened multiple times) I asked my husband if we could just leave. We stayed and I regret doing so. The masseuse had such a terrible technique, it was like he was chopping vegetables as fast as possible on my back. He didn't listen to the focus areas I wanted, and I was just so uncomfortable and skeeved out by him. Instead of the lady at the front desk asking if anything was wrong with the massage, she was visibly annoyed that we only gave a 17% tip, and gave me the dirtiest look. What poor customer service. If she had bothered asking and apologized for the experience, I wouldn't have written this and would have considered going back. But I guess they'd rather have no business at all from us. That's fine. Side note for anyone in the couple's room - I've always been suspicious that in the corner of the room where the ceiling meets the walls, there is a sizable hole. I try to turn away from it because I've always wondered if there is some kind of recording device up there. Why would you have a hole in that specific spot of the ceiling? Yesterday I went to the Oak Park branch with my daughter for a combo body and foot massage. She is disabled so I specifically asked for a booth where we could be next to each other. There was only one client when we arrived so they had space. After waiting 15 minutes we get separated and I immediately demanded that we be together. They put us in a booth not next to one another despite there being space available but instead one where my daughter was laying opposite another client. What really was unacceptable is the entire time I was being massaged the gentleman therapist was coughing continuously and constantly sniffing. He did mot wear a mask and did not blow his nose nothing. Just kept sniffing and coughing the entire time every 2 minutes or so. When they moved my daughter and I for the feet reflexology portion of the massage, he continued to cough and sniff his nose mucus now directly in front of me less than 3 feet. No mask no consideration to look away. Im diabetic and have lupus and my daughter has cerbral.palsy. On departing I complained to the young fellow who seems like he was the manager and only one who spoke English about the situation but he merely apologized and disregarded my issue whild an elderly lady who was waiting to be attended to, heard the discussion and looked very perturbed.
