Three Guitars Blues Band

I believe this is the oldest tavern in Tacoma, but it is not dusty and stodgy. Instead it is lively and friendly. Good food, great selection of cold beer and we love to catch to regular live music!

I would always recommended this spot to anybody. Beautiful views of the water front in the back bar area, great music selection, and an even better draft selection. From ciders to ipas they have it all. I've never tried the food here but it looks good so maybe next time. It's in a really neat spot to walk around as well, not far is some other great restaurants and places to grab a quick drink.

This place has good food but the service is really slow, as there was just one person tending to the restaurant. The ambiance is okay in the restaurant side, but if you're 21 and over I'd go by the bar towards the back; you'll get some BEAUTIFUL views of the sound.

After spending my morning working at the coffee shop next door, I thought I'd give The Spar a try for lunch. The Spar is located right in the heart of Old Town. The server was alone and really busy. I sat down and it took quite awhile for her to come over. Being busy is a great thing! I ordered a mushroom burger and a side salad. The burger was great- hot and good quality. The salad was also good. Overall, a good lunch spot. Looking forward to coming back and trying some of their fish and chips.

If you're looking for great pub fare, friendly service, and a welcoming vibe, then head over to The Spar in Tacoma's Old Town. They have some of the best halibut & chips in town. The panko crusted halibut is hand coated in house, and I recommend pairing it with their Spar Chips, sliced in house and lightly seasoned. It just elevates the experience. And definitely check out some of their great local IPAs on tap. Cheers!

Cheese curds

It was my first time here and the food was great! Poor bartender was alone and swamped but she did great under the circumstances. The cheese curds were SO good! I loved the French dip too and my boyfriend liked his chicken as well. We'll be back for sure!

I eat here all the time and it's OK food. Good for a quick beer after work. Mostly we like it because of it's location near our house.

I came across them on Yelp recently and knew I wanted to check them…read moreout, but after a nearby dinner at La Ca Bar we realized Holy Moly was just across the street and decided to drop in for a quick nightcap. At first glance it appears super tiny, but the bar goes back pretty far and is a good size. We got there before the nighttime crowds and managed to score the cozy couch in front of the fireplace in the back. It filled up quickly after that, though! The mood is moody and cozy, the perfect spot for making this apart of date night. I can't speak much to the food as we did not order any, but the menu is pretty elevated for a bar. I wouldn't say this place is divey at all, but the menu was still surprising. Service was good and they had a great selection of drinks. I got a hazy IPA (as per usual) and it was delicious! We also got a couple of shots here and absolutely adored the shot glasses they use. They look like tiny cocktail glasses! Overall we thought Holy Moly was a vibe and we will definitely include this in our 6th Ave rotation.

Had to go to the bar to get service and order which is ok. The drink menu was a QR code, which I appreciate but I also like physical menus. The food menu is minimum and didn't order anything. They don't have anything passed 7pm for food which is unfortunate. Also, it was supposed to be trivia night but I didn't see any games or why it wasn't happening. The ambience is definitely different. Quirky, fun, good instragramable place. Unfortunately, when we arrived although cozy there was a strange smell like burnt candle or burnt something. The candles they have are LED so ruled that out. This is my 2nd time. I would give better review but I am a little disappointed by their overall offerings.

The food is my favorite part. I can have a beer anywhere, but the food is actually pretty on point minus the nachos, sad to say. Always overcooked, cheese is hardened and well beyond melted, but a massive portion in size. The sandwiches are amazing, the quesadillas are amazing, have yet to make it there before breakfast ends but I'm betting it's probably pretty good. Staff are friendly, efficient, and do well on checking to make sure you're not waiting too long for service without being too bothersome. It gets a little loud, busy and crowded on nights especially on the weekends, but that's typical bar atmosphere. Patio seating is nice on sunny days like today. 5/5 for a hometown spot in the neighborhood.

Years ago when she ran this bar it was the best in town and she would not let this food to be served. I will go the Huckleberry that she owns with two other steller partners and enjoy their food. The cook should check the soup pot on a regular basis to ensure that the chowder is hot and ensure that the fish is at least 135 degrees and let it warm up to over 140 degrees before serving. We do love pinball, but we might have come along this place randomly. It's been busy the few times we have been, which tend to be weekend afternoons. Lot of machines available, seems like frequent tournaments are going on. According to pinball map they have 24 machines, which is pretty large compared to some places. Not so busy you can't play though, prices are comparable. It doesn't seem too claustrophobic like some places, lots of space to move around. Full bar and friendly service. Places to sit. Definitely check this out if you like pinball. I don't think they have food, but I could be wrong.

To the layman it may seem like just a dark "pirate" or "tiki bar", but the focus is really more centered around Lovecraftian and cosmic horror - not something you see you often but very much appreciated among those who are familiar. The menu is accessed by QR codes on the table. They have an *extremely* long list of cocktails, all named appropriately with the theming, but somewhat lacking in variety. Most of the cocktails are some combination of rum, spices, lime/lemon, and maybe something else fruity or sweet. My wife had a Ships from Far Shores while I enjoyed an Astro Orbiter. Their menu has an indicator of how strong each drink is, and it doesn't lie. The Astro Orbiter tasted great but was indeed quite strong. The staff were extremely polite and a pleasure to talk to. Unfortunately their kitchen was closed the evening we went, so we weren't able to grab any food, but hopefully we'll to try some the next time we stop by.
