The folks that serve from the truck are wonderful. The owner Matt is an absolute king of cuisine and also of customer care and service. Congratulations to him and his wife on his baby who was born last night. This little one has now extended his children to four little boys. Matt showed up for just a few minutes to open the food truck today. I caught him just in time to remind him of how good his food is, and to wish him continued success with the food truck and his growing family. I love Sauced Food Truck and think everyone should go out of their way to give it a try!!!

As for ambiance, it doesn't really apply since it's a truck but the venue was fun. I do think the price for your lumpia is a bit much. 8 dollars for 3 is steep. When I asked if we could sit in the main area, I was told those tables were reserved. Shortly afterward, the manager/owner moved us to the main dining room. We stayed until closing, and none of the supposedly reserved tables were ever occupied. The food was good, but the initial seating experience left us feeling unwelcome and disappointed.

I bought a bag of gummies from Denmark. I should have asked its price. Was shell shocked that this bag cost me $25.xx some dollars. i didn't think it would be that expensive. And...they're OK. Interesting. Not overwhelmingly great, but OK. Expensive because they are imported. The fudge was the same. I sampled the chocolate peanut butter and something else. It was good. Not fantastic. Disclaimer: I'm not a great fan of fudge in general. But I do know good fudge when I taste it. I also bought two truffles--at $4.50 a piece! They are big, about 1-3/4" in diameter. Surely, at $4.50 a pop they would be excellent, right? There many delicious sounding flavors. The two I settled on were the dark chocolate and the peanut butter chocolate. Strangely, could not even taste any peanut butter. They were good. Not great, though, and definitely not worth $4.50. But I guess that's the cost of a tourist coastal town. Not as good as a See's chocolate truffle or the truffle bars you can get here in Utah. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. The star of the store is large offering of handmade chocolates in the middle of the store. You can buy by the piece and mix and match. There must have been at least a three dozen different choices. The service was friendly and helpful. The ambience combined the feel of an old time candy store with contemporary store and layout. The quality of the chocolate is high and I enjoyed my clusters.

Sure enough, I found vacuum packs refrigerated and unrefrigerated. There are also local jams, spreads, and dips. They have smoked cheeses. Also smoked oysters in can which I did not buy because at point my suitcase will get too heavy. The kid bought some honey sticks. There were a few free samples of smoked fish and cheese. There were other things to buy in the souvenir space but I did not pay much attention since I was mainly looking for food. The employees were helpful and friendly. I am glad that I found this place and it is worth a stop if you are visiting Poulsbo.

They have a great selection of mustards (mostly German). A fine selection of meads, mostly Danish, but also domestic. And probably the best selection of licorice I think I've ever seen in an American store, more than an aisle focused on licorice. There are the standard varieties, but also some serious salted varieties, including ones I haven't seen outside Finland. Also, lots of other German sweets and chocolates. The staff was really friendly and helpful, and shared my enthusiasm for the great stuff they carried. Well worth a visit. Who knows what you'll end up getting!
