    The spectacular view!

We had the Boston Clam Chowder and Fish and Chips, and both were amazing! My Clam Chowder was just perfect, not too rich or creamy like the traditional New England ones! The sourdough bread was very delicious. My friend thought the Fish and Chips was very fresh and delicious! The portions were very large. Although this restaurant is rated as more expensive, we thought that overall the prices were reasonable and comparable to other places, with much less ambience. Our table gave us a panoramic view of the harbor and San Francisco shoreline, including Alcatraz! We were surrounded by beauty. Our servers were very nice and efficient, making sure our water glasses were filled. I loved their old fashioned uniforms of black and white pants, shirts, vests and ties! Our valet parker was so kind and welcoming, asking us how our experience was at the end. Thanks for making my birthday celebration so memorable and fun!

Came here after we scattered our loved one. I haven't been here for over 35 years. It was a favorite of my parents and my Aunt as we took out of town visitors here because of not only the food but the beautiful views of the Bay. It was a beautiful day and the restaurant was busy in the late afternoon. There is an extensive menu but I finally decided on the fish and chips. It arrived and I found it interesting. The fries or chips are not traditional Chip, ie not steak fries and it came with two sau es. Not the traditional tarter sauce. It was ok, but so t think I'd order again. Over all I would probably come and sit a the bar, have a drink and appetizer and take in the view of the Bay.

This was our first time, trying this beautiful restaurant. And did not disappoint. We took the sf ferry so I couldn't say much about parking situation. The view is amazingly spectacular, we made a reservation requesting a table with view by the way. The clam chowder soup was delicious, we also ordered oysters... our main meal was the New York steak, and came out at the perfect temperature for me. Ravioli with pesto sauce was great as well. We were served by Rico, amazing and professional waiter. Super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu.

It isn't every day that you ride the Blue/Gold Ferry from Pier 41 at Fisherman's Wharf in SF to Sausalito. We took the 11:45am ferry, landed 30 mins later in Sausalito and made the 10 minute walk 30 minutes early for our 1pm reservation. We were pleasantly greeted by the Hostess who said, 'yes, we have a wonderful table for you' and indeed they did. We were escorted to a 4 top in the front corner with sweeping views of SF Bay, Angel Island and Tiburon. Must say, it was the best table in the house! Our waitress, Maya, greeted us and was most friendly and answered any questions we had about the menu. We went from Brunch, to Lunch, to Sandwiches and back to Lunch and we ordered the Pasta Primavera and the Tomahawk Pork Chop (I only took a photo of the front of the menu thinking we'd be having Brunch). My companion enjoyed the Pasta Primavera and I tasted as well and with the basil pesto base along with the vegetables it was served piping hot as was the Halibut Piccata. Halibut was tender, not overcooked and served with white wine, lemon and capers. I gave them a full five stars for service, recognizing our milestone of 7 years together, the wonderful table, our meals served piping hot and tasty, and the complimentary dessert of 3 big scoops of vanilla gelato. A really great experience on a great day. Enjoy!

4 stars for the stunning views & courteous service, 3 stars for the food. I appreciated the complimentary valet parking and that every table has a view of the water. I enjoyed watching the pelicans while waiting for my friend to arrive for lunch. My friend got the salmon salad and I got the petrale dore, based on other Yelpers' recommendations. I thought the petrale dore was a bit bland, and I much prefer this dish at Pacific Cafe in the outer Richmond district. But the spacious restaurant and views made this a delightful dining experience!

Our group has its yearly brunch/ Luncheon at The Spinnakers! We go early so there's always lots of parking since we have ladies coming in from both sides of the bay and a special treat for our out of towners. The view is always beautiful and we never feel rushed! Their clam chowder is always good and so are the variety of salads and hot foods. The avocado crab Lou is a must ! The branzino hands down excellent Paella - special that day - was just ok. Not a lot of seafood and the rice not well cooked Sausalito salad - good salad has lots of potential but could use better greens - the seafood was well done. Their list of desserts has something for everyone- the vanilla bean sorbe was outstanding. The service this time around was good but had to request refills for water and coffee. We'll Be back as we love the view and location. Hope to have better service next time.

The Spinnaker in Sausalito is one of those places you go for the setting as much as the meal. The view is genuinely amazing and hard to beat being right on the water with that backdrop. The ambiance matches it too. It's relaxed and scenic without trying too hard. Service was a highlight: friendly, attentive, and easygoing in a way that makes you want to linger a bit longer. Food-wise it was a bit of a mixed bag. The crab cakes didn't quite land. They oddly reminded me of that scene in Vacation where Cousin Eddy's family makes Hamburger Helper without the hamburger. Just missing something essential. The chicken parm sandwich was okay but could've used a lot more marinara (and pesto) to bring it together. On the plus side, the iced tea was solid - bold and refreshing. Overall, it's a good spot if you're prioritizing the view, vibe, and service. Just go in with tempered expectations on the food.

For lunch, my companion had the Crab, Shrimp, and Avocado Clubhouse sandwich. She enjoyed it so much last time she visited that she ordered it again today. I chose the delicious and colorful Pan-Seared Day Boat Scallops with dry sherry, roasted garlic, shiitake mushrooms, spinach, butternut squash, and fried leeks. Our waiter was delightful--pleasantly humorous, personable, and so elegant. He contributed to our feeling pampered and special. The view is spectacular, including the flock of pelicans preening and other activities that were engaging and fun to watch.

Went here on a Saturday evening with reservations at 7pm. Appetizer: our group ordered the Marin County Cheese Plate priced at $18. Nothing special- It's what you would expect from any cheese plate with fruit. Personally, I would have ordered something else on the menu. Starter: Bowl of Clam Chowder- sooo good! This may have been my favorite thing I ate tonight. Easy 10/10. Food: Grilled Halibut. I'd give this a 8/10. The fish was well seasoned and juicy. The portion was on the smaller side though but came with mash potatoes and a salad. Dessert: Hot Fudge Sundae - haven't had one in such a long time, and it was delicious. Overall it was a good dinner and the staff were very nice. I think it's a bit overpriced for what you get, but you do get an epic skyline view of San Francisco during the evening.

The Spinnaker is out on the water overlooking the city, you can't find a better place for views! We had a great dinner and wonderful service. My favorite was the mussels, the broth they were served in had great flavor to it.

Visited during lunch in my favorite little city, Sausalito. The view was wonderful. My son had lobster bisque and clam chowder and said it was awesome. My grandson had the grilled Salmon with potatoes and broccoli. He ate it all. I had the Sailor plate with beer batter calamari, shrimp and halibut with fries. I enjoyed it. Everything was fresh. My daughter in law had oysters and lobster bisque. . We had a wonderful time with the best views on the bay. The service was too notch.

    Bouillabaisse
    Matt H.

Great experience! Upon walking into The Spinnaker I truly did not know what to expect. The place looks and feels as though it's stuck in 1970 but the more I sank into my seat the more I realized that was the best part of this place. You truly feel like you've stepped back in time here. I had the bouillabaisse and it was genuinely some of the best bouillabaisse I have ever had which shocked me. The service was wonderful even though the place was extensively busy and our waiter couldn't have been kinder. The ambiance as I said is that of an old time waterfront seafood spot, but in the best way possible. Could they use some major updating and renovations? Of course. Does the current vibe fit the place though? Absolutely. Keep doing what you're doing and I will recommend this place to anyone.

One of our favorite restaurants in Sausalito. While I do agree, service can be much quicker, I absolutely enjoy the view and the food here. We usually start with the crab cakes or Dungeness crab, my husband is OBSESSED with their shrimp Louie, and I usually get the crab Mac n cheese. The last time we were here was Valentine's Day and they had a prix fixe menu - I got the soup, crab and avocado, the lobster and a chocolate cake. My husband got the soup, calamari, the steak, and chocolate covered strawberries. I got the wine pairing, while my husband had old fashioned. I appreciate how the waitress suggested adjustments to the wine pairing based on my order. Everything was delicious and a perfect Valentine's Day setting and meal. 10/10 will visit again.

After reading some reviews here I knew it was a small place, so I was pleasantly surprised I could get a reservation during our trip to Sausalito. My husband and I had recently enjoyed some caviar for the first time but we are no experts, and I was a little worried that he might not get enough to eat. Turns out we both left perfectly satisfied. The place is tiny but so elegant. The bar is right in front of the kitchen that is sparkling clean and the chef prepares everything right there. There is a little high top table too and there was a couple there when we arrived, but afterward it was just us and we felt like royalty treated to our private dinner. We aren't caviar experts by any means but Yo did a great job explaining the different caviar flights including where it comes from - turns out the white sturgeon is farmed in the Sacramento Delta. We chose the Menage a Trois white sturgeon flight and it was so elegant. Three kinds of caviar plus all these homemade breads and crackers to enjoy it with. Every bite was amazing and I think we only left a couple of chives. Afterward we picked a couple of other dishes - the Chawanamushi and the Dungeness crab ravioli. Both were exquisite- in flavor and presentation. For dessert we had the sweet potato - Yo described it as a ganache - which I couldn't really picture but it was a very accurate description. It came with asian pear and was just the perfect finish to our meal. I had a couple glasses of French bubbly with my meal - normally I can't do more than one glass of champagne but it was crisp and yummy and paired well with everything we ate. When we were finished we got our check in a cute sturgeon pulp science fiction book. It was the final thoughtful detail to a wonderful evening. Chef Lance is a real artist and he really thinks through the ingredients and the flavors. Everything was so delicious and creative. I hope we get to come back again someday.

The service was a little shaky, but overall we greatly enjoyed our evening! Food & Drink: We joined the waitlist when we arrived, and got some drinks while we waited in the bar. We really liked our cocktails, with the Margarita and Aperol Spritz being two highlights. Once seated, we ordered the Shishito Peppers, Pear Pizza, and Olive Pizza. The peppers were nicely cooked and salted, and they paired well with our drinks. The pear pizza was surprisingly delicious with gorgonzola, nuts, and some leaves. The olive pizza was also good with its' greek inspired toppings of feta cheese, olives, and red peppers. For dessert we tried the affogato and Bocce dessert, which were both good. Though my affogato had mostly melted on arrival. Service & Ambiance: The only issue we encountered was the service. Our evening got off to a slightly bumpy start because the waitlist notification was sent to my phone's spam folder, meaning I wasn't notified and we almost missed our opportunity to be seated. For this reason, it would be good if staff could check the bar before removing customers from the waitlist (I told them that we would be waiting in the bar, which is a short distance from the host desk). Another issue was that the pizzas took a long time to come out. Fortunately, management made it up to us by giving us a free salad and free meatballs. This was a classy gesture and definitely helped! (Hopefully this was just a one-off situation). Finally, I was surprised by the amount of kids at this establishment. Considering this is prominently marketed as a bar, there was quite a lot of unruly children running (and climbing) about, which did affect the ambiance somewhat. Management may want to consider whether allowing children is worth it, as they somewhat spoil the lovely waterside ambiance. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would come again!
