We were looking for a quick place for dinner on our first night in town and The Spot did not disappoint. The service was quick and extremely friendly. Three servers made sure we'd been served while we we're waiting for our drinks. Within walking distance of the beach, it's a great place to eat and enjoy good customer service. You may come for the seafood, but even their chicken tenders are DELICIOUS! Ambiance, meh. Hatteras clam chowder was good, nachos were okay, chili was good ( but, served barely warm). Service was great, sweet young waitress apparently covering every table, along with a young man delivering food, and clearing tables. First it should be a NO NO allowing smoking anyplace near where people are eating.!!!!!! When we walked up there were a group of smokers were outside being loud and all about drunk so we sat inside instead which we had not planned on. Was a nice night to sit outside and inside very small. This will stop a lot of people from eating here so I hope they read this and change their policy. We have a place at Carolina Beach and were excited about something new but they have a lot to work on. Although the food was really good, the staff has a lot to be desired when it comes to listening!! Sat at the bar and the bartender made a terrible Cosmopolitan drink, when we asked about the specials he didn't know what they were and he seem to be too occupied with a friend that came in to talk. He had to ask us three times which soup we wanted and told him three times and he still brought the wrong one. Took it back and replaced it which was ok since It was really good. Then we received our dinner which was supposed to be a "special dinner of mahi"with asparagus and rice but they brought us two mahi burgers and buns with nothing on it and steamed vegs. We looked at him like what happen? I told him several times the Mahi Dinner Special and this is what he brought out. I could not believe it! Again he was not listening and catering to the customer. I sweet husband was apologizing because he had just went there two nights before and had the Mahi special and loved it. I worked in restaurants as I was growing up and still provide service to clients with my current job and one thing they must learn is pay attention to who is in front of you. Go beyond expectations!! Oh well we will see how this goes and how long they last. We lie a good while in the walk with great food and a bar so I guess we will stick with Shucker's Oyster Bar! Rude as F. This place was highly recommended to me. I was told that there were no tables outside. I said that wasn't a problem. I would sit at the bar. The staff inside was hostile towards me. I wasn't sitting at a server's station. There was a bar stool there. On the positive side, the food was good. The thing that really pissed me off, was that was that when I tried to settle up, the server took my card, then set it aside, and decided to change a keg, which was not readily available, and make me wait another 10-15 minutes. Service was great! Wendy was our server and she was excellent! Food was innovative and though the menu was small there was a nice variety of options. There was a good amount of specials tonight including tuna, chicken pasta, and ribeye. My family enjoyed the food. The atmosphere was just okay. More people drinking than eating (it is Friday night). The food was Awesome we sampled everything Hatteress chowder was so good that we brought two orders home for the rest of the family to try! Red and black grilled chicken wings were very tasty! Grilled shrimp was great! The tuna sandwich was cooked perfectly! The Mahi sandwich was great! Wide tasty French fries ! Staff was prompt and pleasant! Whoa, everyone take a deep breath: Spotted the spot from the spot in which I sat. I said 'hey that spot looks like the friggin spot.' Sat on the beach in a particular spot...just thinking about grabbing a spot to plop down at the spot. Make no mistake, the spot is THAT SPOT! Chicken tenders of the BBQ persuasion were expertly breaded and fried. Spot on! The best thing we spotted on the menu at the spot was the 'spot-on' hush puppies. Holy spotting crap! Those hush puppies changed my view, spot and position on life itself. Honey butter? Can anyone spot me $5 to grab a few more of those little morsels of heaven???? Compliments to the friendly wait staff as well as Chef Gavin. Mentorship/training will assuredly go a long way but you cannot teach passion! That is what we experienced at the spot. I am submitting this review for one reason only, and it is due to the concerns about Covid precautions. My wife and I are visiting from out of town and decided to try "The Spot" for dinner and a few drinks. When we arrived we went inside, the staff were all wearing face coverings and were very friendly. We were told by the waitress that they were only seating outside, which is good, and to go ahead and find a table and they would be right with us. We went back outside to look for a table. The deck wraps around the side of the building and isn't very wide. The tables were all full and on top of each other. Not even close to being six feet apart. So we left. read more

Got into town late and needed to find a dinner spot and this was our choice. Looking back we would have been better off elsewhere. My burger was terrible and my husband's meatball sub wasn't good either. I asked for broccoli for my side and was served fries. When I asked the server to correct it, I was given broccoli in an inch of butter covered in cheese and a dollop of marinara sauce had made its way into the cup. However, I do have to say that the side salad was surprisingly very fresh and healthy. Our server was attentive and positive. However, we definitely won't be coming back to The Spot. read more

I visited The Spot several times during my recent visit to CB. The food was excellent as well as the service. I really enjoyed the intimate, small town feel and hospitality. We visit this place so often this whole situation disgusts me. We called ahead to let them know we were bringing food from Uncle Vinnys next door to make sure it was okay. The person who answered said that was perfectly okay we assured them we would drink plenty of alcohol to make up for bringing food. They said," sounds great come on over". Upon arrival we were told we weren't allowed to bring outside food, we informed we called, the owner and staff were very ugly insisting we leave. I was very appalled by their behavior. We visit quite often and we were so disappointed about how disrespectful and belittling the staff and the owner was. On our way out the owner made crude comments regarding how we shouldn't have brought outside food & we should have known. It was incredibly rude considering it was his employee who approved us bringing the food. Just all around would not recommend going to this awful establishment. read more

Really great atmosphere------ BUT LETS TALK ABOUT THE WINGS ------ I've never been one to crave wings, until Chef Mike showed up in carolina beach. BEST WINGS ON THE PLANET. Particularly the black and red sauce is top notch, no other wings can even come close to these. Nick & Tops are great bartenders also. Kitchen staff really cares about what they serve to the guests. Less than zero stars! Got served a hot dog with chili from two years ago it seemed. Then when I took it to the waitress the owner laughed to my wife's face; and said kept laughing as we left because we ordered the chili. I recommend you do not eat here. Absolutely fantastic food. Still in their soft opening but doing a wonderful job. Regular menu includes awesome burgers and wings. Lots of things are homemade here. 3-5 different specials are offered each day. Eggplant Napoleon was out of this world and a ribeye to die for. read more
