My order has consisted of an eggplant pizza and PB chocolate chip cookie. The eggplant pizza is made on a spinach tortilla so don't expect that dough delicious crust, but more of a really thin crust pizza. However, you won't miss that crust when you get all the flavor that encompasses this pizza. The second go-around I asked for it extra spicy and the dudes made it perfectly. They threw on some jalapenos and chipotle. It was DELICIOUS. I can't soberly finish a whole pizza which is a good thing. For $7 it's a good deal for two people. If you're like me and like hot foods, ask for it spicy! I'll be back, The Spot! Super friendly service, fresh foods, and good portion size. He seemed horrified by the faux pas and said a newbie employee prepared the drink, and yes, they wash all the produce that goes into the drinks. He offered to "make it right" and invited me to come in again for another drink. Today I took him up on the offer. I got the Beets Me (beet, ginger, carrot, lemon, pear), and it was tasty. I could taste all the ingredients that went into the drink and they harmonize to make a sweet tangy spicy, slightly bitter concoction. This was much tastier than the kale cucumber-- and smoother, no pulp, all juice. And no produce sticker! ...1 day later...: be forewarned-- your pee and poop will turn red (from the beets)! So I just paid a ridiculous amount for a "matcha smoothie" which had almost no matcha and was served with bad attitude. They just use matcha smoothie powder mix and then load up with frozen yogurt. This is bad, but not the worst part. The guy making the smoothie was frustrated about the hard-to-scoop frozen yogurt and so when it didn't blend well, he just let the large frozen lump of yogurt fall into the cup and served it to me like that. I watched the whole thing from the bar seat. I handed it right back to another employee to fix. He did his best, but still tasted like a super sweet shake, not matcha. I ended up throwing it away. The grumpy employee then slid some other customer's food on the counter and it fell to the floor lid down. The customer picked it up and just looked at the guy who said, "It's all good, right?" This place is terrible on so many different levels. The 1st is that they just don't give a hoot about you as a customer. My family ordered 3 different sandwiches and chips and 3 separate smoothies. The sandwiches were very small and the fillings were sparse. My hot grilled cheese was cold and had hardly any cheese in it. Their menu said it has five different cheeses on it but it was basically a bread sandwich. I couldn't even see the cheese. What a rip off!!! The worse part was that we ordered three different potato chips and all three we received were not the ones we ordered. This screams, "I don't give a damm about what you think!" How is this right? This was a take out order and I had no desire to drive back down there to rectify this. You know, if it was just one problem, then you could say it's a mistake, but when the sandwiches are cheep, flimsy and with no fillings , plus they were cold AND all the chips were not what we requested, it's obvious this place needs an owner who takes pride in its restaurant and this place most definitely does NOT. So if you want to overpay for what you order and you want to receive the wrong food which you did not order....than this is the place for you. The Healthiest Smoothie had kale, spinach, almond milk, acai and bananas. I juice and pack smoothies a few times a week as a routine, so I'm pretty familiar with this blend. My only gripe is there were still chunks of banana and whole spinach in my drink. If I'm paying almost $10 for a drink, I'd like it to be done right! I really like how The Spot goes out of their way to promote fitness along with a healthy living style with their food. There is a huge, huge selection of food and drinks here! Smoothies, acai bowls, juices, and food - it was hard to decide. My friend grabbed an acai bowl and I had a Very Berry Smoothie. The smoothie was delicious, but the acai bowl was beyond average. I found it disappointing how fruit is not automatically added into your acai bowl, but is a topping that you have to pay for. The Acai bowl was adequate, but nothing special. This place is a cute little cafe that we stumbled across. Their food is good. I got the vegan pizza! I wasn't expecting nuts; I thought it was going to be vegan cheese. It tasted alright. Great spot! We came in looking for a sweet latte and they made a really good special latte for us. The staff is so nice and the food is really good. We got a BBQ chicken pizza - apparently known for their pizzas here - and a Hot Italian sandwich, which I asked them to toast for me. Highly recommend stopping in. I think, though, they did have a huge catering order they had to take care of. But, come on. I had a bagel and cream cheese. They didn't even put the bagel and cream cheese together. They just gave me a bagel and the cream cheese in a little container. It is really shouldn't take that long. The bagel was good though. The employees were just non welcoming on both occasions and acted like they didn't want to be there, which is very much a turn off as a customer. There is usually one person working behind the counter, but there is usually another 1-2 people sitting in the back room. A super hipster joint where everything is "fresh and organic" but what it really means is everything costs triple what it would anywhere else. The entire staff look very hipster with dreads and piercings and half their head shaved and they all take forever to make your order...which is just a menu of sandwiches, salads, and juices. Today I had a really bad experience at the spot. I have been coming here for years and I kinda just stick to the same routine when ordering through the app. And it wasn't until today did I realize there was a feature to select various fruits and veggies accordingly. Brushed it off at first assumed she was having a bad day, overwhelmed or whatever. but then she proceeded to give me more attitude, made me feel like I was trying to pull a fast one and steal from your company and then literally shooed me out of the establishment because I was having trouble understanding what she was trying to tell me. It bothered me so much that I went back into the app to understand why she reacted to that extreme and if I really had been pulling a fast one and undercharging myself for months without anyone ever telling me. So after looking I understood what she was trying to say. And it just makes me laugh and question if working with people is the best Avenue for this girl. To be hostile with a guest, making them feel like they were stealing, to shoo them out of the establishment, and cause a scene, ultimately for nothing; because the issue that started this was price difference and there is none! I ordered a chick a bowl and grilled cheese on Thursday, June 10. I ate the chicken bowl and my son had the grilled cheese. I had food poisoning and was vomiting all night after this. This place is good as long as you're easy and don't mind inconsistencies. The drinks taste different depending on who's making them. (Watered down vs missing ingredients vs just right) I cannot comment on the meals as I've only done bowls and smoothies. I've been tempted to order further but because of the wait time for JUST a smoothie/bowl, I never do. On more than one occasion, items have been forgotten on my order. For example: order 1 bowl and 1 juice. The bowl appears, 15 mins later still waiting for the juice only for them to say it was forgotten. With 5-10 employees working it would be nice if one of them were actually *thinking** instead of pretending to look busy. That's been conditioned into them for when the owner is there, and it's actively effecting the customers, unconsciously. Just a tip - would love to see a higher grade peanut butter option available. I would pay more for organic anything. Staff meetings, better communication and training with employees would make a huge difference here. read more

The Spot is your typical hippie, healthy SoCal food joint. Smoothies and acai bowls abound (literally, 90% of the chalkboard menus are dedicated to these). This joint was located a short jaunt away from the DoubleTree hotel I was staying at and it was open early enough for breakfast, thus making it the logical choice for a quick 8 AM breakfast before heading out to catch my flight. There is a dedicated breakfast menu with bagels and bagel sandwiches, but the entire menu is on offer throughout the day. Good stuff. I got a breakfast bagel sandwich with bacon and a hot latte. My companion got a panini and an iced latte. Acai bowls were also available, and it felt like literally everyone other than us ordered one of those. Oh well. I don't feel bad for craving carbs and meat because that breakfast sandwich kept me full well until the late afternoon when I landed in Seattle. Even though there's strawberries, apple juice, açai, and non fat yogurt. So I went back to tell the employee that the taste of banana was a bit to overwhelming. Thinking that they would respect that they made the drink incorrectly that they'd be able to remake it, I asked if they could remake it without bananas. Such a great place, especially for college students! They have a wide variety, from pizzas to paninis to sandwiches to acai bowls. Great prices ranging from 5-10 dollars. We had the hot italian sandwich, the tomato basil panini, and the soy what acai bowl. On the acai bowl you get two toppings, so we added honey and peanut butter. FYI the peanut butter is just a blob plopped on top, it's not blended into the mix. After we ordered we waited about 8-10 minutes for all the food. Very quick considering they were semi busy. It's a great location for a smoothing and bowl although the way the how's are blended instead of having their fruit sliced up and placed in the bowl might just be a preference but it also makes it visual to how much type of fruit you're getting. I purchased the tropical bowl with mango strawberry and banana and I'm pretty sure there might have been one slice of mango. The Spot Cafe is a very nice, trendy, and welcoming place to enjoy some paninis and smoothies! It's located in the plaza where the Trader Joe's is, and has a few tables outside the establishment for guests to soak up the SoCal sun. In addition, they have a some small tables inside and bar seating around the prep area. When it comes to the food, this shop has got their ducks in line! I usually go for the "Pitzer Switzer", while replacing the turkey with chicken (personal preference). I think I've had another panini, as well. That one was delicious, too. For smoothies, I'd recommend the "Orange Clockwork" or the "Blunami".. Both are very good and very juicy! Overall, I love going to the Spot, it's a quick/easy/cheap bite and often a pleasant decision. Reason for 4 stars is because they have a panini named after EVERY 5C school EXCEPT for Pomona College. I've heard they have $5 bottomless mimosas (with purchase of entree), which if true is a steal. Will update on that after the weekend! read more

I come to The Spot fairly often. I love their smoothies, bowls, wraps, and pizzas. They have a pretty good variety to choose from, all healthy-organic-Claremont-trendy-vegan type stuff. It's a great spot (pun intended) to get a healthy snack or meal, which I appreciate. It's almost always packed inside, which is my only gripe. If they expand their store, or find a bigger location they'd be even better. As of right now, the seating inside is super limited. Try it out, you'll feel 10% healthier when you leave! read more
