A piece of Galveston down to the Hobby airport. I had an afternoon flight and were craving a meal. When I walked up there was only one other person there in line. One annoying but minor thing is that there are registers but I guess they're for to go orders only I waited in line for like 5 mins before the cashier tells me to goto the bar to order. But at any rate the bar tender was super friendly and checked in frequently. I ordered a shrimp poboy and it came out quickly and fresh! Plus it was a really large portion. It was rated GAF! Nice spot to get a quality meal quickly - service was great and they had plenty of power plugs by the booths. We both got the chorizo, egg & cheese tacos. The included breakfast potato's were great - the tacos themselves were good, I wish they would have had a little more chorizo, and the corn tortillas were a little dense, but overall it was good for an airport meal. Based on this being an airport spot (haha, Spot) i thoroughly enjoyed wasting time here . DAsia was a doll! She was attentive and always ready to offer service. I ordered wings which were delicious. It's a relaxed spot and has a quick service option. I was here on a Wednesday afternoon and it wasn't too busy, but I was able to observe a couple other bartenders and DAsia was hands down the friendliest and most efficient. There are multiple places to eat at Houston Hobby Airport. I always looked forward to Pappa's Burgers or Pappadeux. Unfortunately, both are gone. I stopped at The Spot near Gate 1. Horrible service. Waited longer than I should have before I was seated even though there appeared to be a lot of employees. They just looked me in the eyes and kept walking. I was within seconds of walking back to the main terminal but was then seated. I'm always a big fan of fried shrimp in Houston as they are always fresh and delicious. Had to have the fried shrimp/fries. It was fine. The adult bevies are outrageously over-priced, even for an airport. No thank you. Service needs a lot of tweaking. No follow up or water refill. No attention until it was time to pay the bill. I will not return when traveling through Houston Hobby, again. There are too many other places at the airport where I can fix my fried shrimp craving. read more

Nice people behind the bar, service time was good, my Chicken Sandwich was a good size and delicious. I upgraded to Onion Rings and got 4! They have a sample platter with 4 different small bites. One of them is Shrimp and I am allergic. I asked if we could swap it out with more of one of the others. The answer was no. No flexibility, even for those with food allergies. I had a layover at Houston Hobby airport this morning and went on Yelp to locate a good place for breakfast. The best reviews were for "The Spot" at the beginning of the International terminal. The service was excellent and the food was very good. I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes. They were huge. They were a tiny bit on the dryer side but still really good. I asked for extra butter and syrup which they were happy to oblige. I'm really glad that I have found another good airport restaurant. So many are sorely disappointing. Even though the prices are a little more than I would expect OUTSIDE of an airport, the pricing was very fair for being IN an airport since prices for everything at airports is high. read more

I was eager to try one of the new restaurants in Hobby. The spot is in the international terminal so it's nice theme for that side of the airport. It is very colorful and welcoming. I came around 8:30 pm and it was pretty empty. Service was just okay, my server was preparing for close so she didn't feel very present. The food was pretty good but airport expensive as expected. I ordered the queso and it came out a bit cool so it wasn't very dippy. The honey hot chicken was delish but half the bun was dry. I decided to ditch the bread since it didn't seem worth it. Stuck in Hou after missing an international connection, so sleepy, hungry, and busy rebooking a bunch of stuff (stressed out), we went here for... brunch, I guess. My +1 got the burger and said it was average. He's not a foodie but he says it was "fine." In the military, we say NSTR - nothing significant to report. I had the hot honey chicken sandwich. Tasty, but didn't blow my socks off. My hands were exceedingly messy afterwards! The slaw on it was good. Service was friendly and efficient - terrific job there. Points off for the weak coffee, a definite area for improvement. We didn't get drinks but hopefully they're better than the coffee. I saw a Starbucks cup on another table; if you need joe, perhaps bring it from a coffee shop. Would I stop here again when in the airport? Maybe but there are other venues I'd try first. read more

My husband connected at Hobby a few days before me and our daughter and after stopping here for a burger, he told us how good they are. A few days later our daughter and I stopped in and even though I was tempted by the Cobb salad or fish tacos, I got a specialty burger and she did too. They were excellent! You can get a basic one or a specialty one. (Hers had bacon and fried onions and mine had bacon jam and fried jalapeños!) Delicious. They're served with waffle fries. I was disappointed that the Pappas restaurants were removed from hobby airport. Until I found out that The Spot was going to be one of the replacements. I've loved the spot in Galveston. Now I get it anytime I'm in the international terminal! And the service is so much better than pappasitos was. The bartender at the spot is super friendly. Almost as if they were flashed fried and not cooked. The rest of the burger was very good. My onion rings were at least warm but they had no flavor and tasted very floury. So I wondered why the line at the spot was so short compared to Chick-fil-A across the corridor. I think I know why. The poor customer service. I ordered over $20 worth of food and because I had a toddler I asked him to package it to go, but we would eat there. I experienced rude and unpleasant service from the servers, bartender, and host--definitely the worst customer service I've ever encountered. I was rushed out of the restaurant because I ordered my food to go, even though I never mentioned that it was for takeout. The food was mediocre, but my overall experience was negatively impacted by the service. As a restaurant manager myself, I have never been treated this way in any dining establishment. read more

I was waiting on a connecting flight and ordered the veggie burger. The server behind the bar brought me a beef burger. I took a bite and spat it into a napkin as it tasted like meat. I asked him are you sure this is a veggie burger and he said yes. I wasn't convinced so I said it tasted like meat and the woman next to me said "Wait, did you just mix up our orders?"
