My son was in the mood for sushi, so we went here. You place your order at a kiosk. That was new for me, but no problem, since it seemed efficient. The staff was pleasant. My son enjoyed his sushi and bubble tea, but everything I had was awful. The french fries in the photo looked so good (thin, crispy) that even though this was a sushi joint, I ordered them on impulse. They were nothing like the photo---they were chunky and soggy. The miso soup was awful---seaweed in a tasteless broth. The vegetable udon was also awful---vegetables and thick, tasteless noodles in another tasteless broth. And the food is not cheap! To top it off, the packaging was overwhelming---I don't think there is any difference between take out and dine in. Apparently they have no concern for the environment. Ordered 3 different kinds of sushi, loved them all. One was veggie, second shrimp avocado, third crabmeat. Fried squid was really good, comes with a lemon piece! Dumplings were quite unique. They look like miniature empanadas.. sort of have a different "dumpling design" than what a standard looks like.. Fried oysters had a weird taste to them.. I didn't really like that.. Battering for the tempura veggies has a really rough rubbery chew to them.. it's not exactly crispy as one would expect. Love this place. There are multiple restaurants in this place. I typically order bubble tea from Gong Cha and poke bowl from Poke DC. Staff is always friendly and helpful. My only challenge is the lack of parking. The last time I went I had to park a bit away. It would be great to have some closer parking for pickup or curbside orders only. The costumer service sucks! They will charge you for every little thing. I got a poke bowl, and I wanted to try a different sauce, but I did not want them to put the sauce in my poke. Instead, I asked them to give it to me separately, but I would have to pay extra if I get it on the side. It just doesn't make any sense. Less than 8 days ago, my husband and I mutually agreed to eat from The Spot Mini in College Park Maryland which was an easy decision because we have previously ordered food here multiple times. Today I thought I'd try their food with a couple friends, honestly the food is just ok, but we waited there for almost 30 mins(!!) which is ridiculous. Literally my favorite place in college park. Gong cha is the best bubble tea in the area, my favorites are Earl Grey w/ 3Js, Caramel milk tea, and brown sugar milk tea. The poke is really good and not a bad price. The ramen is amazing, but a smaller serving size than what's typically served. The tonkatsu is so juicy and tasty. I also love the appetizers, the karaage and takoyaki being my favorite. The sushi is good, but nothing too special. read more

I went twice in this past week. Both times getting some bubble tea. One time with Poke and other with sushi. I'm glad to have Gong Cha open up so close to me! Poke DC is awesome. Pick 2 proteins and all the toppings you'd like for 11.50+tax. You can really pile it on there! Quality of food is as good as you're paying for. Not the best available but highly worth the price. I don't know what the sushi place is called, unsure if it's not just connected to Poke DC but the sushi is okay. 12.5 for 3 rolls plus salad or soup. I got Eel roll, alaskan, and shrimp tempura. The Spot Mini is my favorite place to eat on campus. I always go for the three roll special and get two California rolls and one salmon avocado roll. This special also includes a free miso soup or salad as well as a free sauce. But they don't usually ask what sauce you want, so you have to specifically tell them. Overall, everything was great, sometimes they don't put as much rice around the roll but today it was good. I would highly recommend. One of the workers was especially helpful in answering questions and checking on our order. read more

This place is located right under terrapin row and is similar to The Spot at Rockville and had Poki D.C., Gong Cha, and Akira. They serve appetizers, poke bowls, ramen, sushi and bubble tea. Compared to other similar restaurants, this place has a really nice seating area with two floors! It's the perfect place to go in between classes for a meal or at night to hang w friends. The food is really good quality at a fair price and they have a huge menu for drinks so you can definitely find something you'll like. I really like that they play upbeat music so there's no awkward silence that some restaurants have but it's still quiet enough to study or read if you want to. Overall, I'd def recommend this place, it has such a unique ambiance and high quality feel for a college location. read more

the food is good. cant complain. never found a hair or any mistakes on my orders (except that the portions of Akira ramen has been significantly decreased since the opening of the shop) the problem is the service. their service is T E R R I B L E. I get it, most workers are students in umd and i dont condone it but i understand why they would have "unpleasant" service attitudes. BUT the regular workers who are clearly not even students and are just workers are THE PROBLEMS. they are so rude. they are often found SMOKING OUTSIDE THE RESTAURANT and they just flick their cigarette butts on to the road and walk away. it is their will to smoke, but to do it in front of the main entrance and the back entrance is just huge disrespect toward customers. even if the food is good, if the service continues to be this terrible, i dont see why i would go here when i could walk 3 minutes and go to another restaurant with a better service. read more

The Gongcha Tea is great here, and everyone is really nice that works there. However, I have to give this place 1 star because of the poke DC. I love poke DC and have been to many in the area, but this one is completely different. They give half the portion size, the fish tasted old and like it has been left out for days. They left the skin on the salmon which I have never seen before, and the fish is cut up into 1cm pieces which is so small you can't even taste it. The vegetables were soggy and bruised, and all in all this place is completely a let down. I would not recommend the fish here as right after I felt sick and ended up being nauseas that night. Save yourself the trouble and go to poke places in Rockville and DC, not here. read more

i ordered 3 poke bowls from Poki DC all at once. i've ordered from poke DC from other places before, including The Spot in Rockville. the girl who did my order hardly gave me any of each topping + base. in my past poke orders, the bowl was pretty full by the time i was done ordering. this time, the girl only filled all 3 of my bowls half way. there was a person who ordered behind me and the male who did her order filled up her bowl to the top. also, i asked for a bowl of quinoa and the girl gave me brown rice. not sure if it was just this person who made the order make me think purchase not worth it, but really don't think ill be coming back to buy poke here if i won't even be getting my moneys worth. read more
