***1/2 Full disclosure, this is actually a 3.5 star review. We had been to Diamondback several times, love it, and were looking forward to enjoying a nice meal away from the crowds of downtown Sonora. We came here on Saturday night with 4 adults and 2 toddlers. The place was relatively busy, but we were still seated right away. My first look at the menu and I was pleased. It is a simple menu, mostly burgers, sandwiches, and salads (you're big boys and girls though so I'm sure you know how to click the link above and check it out for yourselves). My brother-in-law said they had great burgers, so I obliged and ordered the Kobe burger. I also ordered a 20-oz. "Hops of Wrath". I was impressed by their beer list; had some great micro's on tap including a few that were new to me. They have a tasters flight, which allows you to try several small pours, but tonight I wanted a pint (or a 20-ouncer whatever). My beer was the highlight of my meal. My burger came out and was a little rarer than the medium I ordered, but to be honest if you're going to err, err on the side or rare. I got a side salad instead of fries. That may have been a mistake because my bro-in-law's garlic fries looked awesome and my salad was just okay. Anyway, my burger came with melted Pt. Reyes Blue cheese and homemade pesto. This sounded way better than it actually was. I love pesto and love blue cheese, but apparently not together. The blue cheese was sooooo strong. It over-powered everything; the pesto, the burger, the fixin's (including the onion), the bun, and even my beer! :( I was hungry and ended up eating the whole thing, but I was still tasting it hours later. So, obviously the burger was not stellar, but I'm willing to forgive them. I know what it's all about so I just won't get it next time since I obviously can't handle strong blue cheese. But the restaurant had a lot more to offer. It was classy, clean and spacious. It is really a pretty unique building. The wait staff was very friendly, the service was good, and there was plenty of floor space for our kids to run around. My sister-in-law thought the girls were getting looks from the hostess, but I think she was just amazed at how adorable they were running around and laughing. The place was loud enough that I didn't feel anyone was disturbed...and I try to be very aware of these types of things because I used to give other parents the stink eye when their kids were annoying me while I was eating out. I would definitely eat here again. If it was closer to my house I would probably eat here frequently. The beer specials seemed fun, and I think the other menu items deserve my consideration. When I do manage to find my way back, I will update my review. Next time I'm going with the pulled pork sandwich or chicken tacos! read more

I ordered the roasted tri tip sandwich with "snake venom" or the house hot sauce along with pepperjack cheese. The sandwich was good although the tri tip was a bit tougher than I would have liked. The snake venom tasted similar to Tabasco sauce although with a few more ingredients. I can generally handle spicy foods but I couldn't eat the second part of my sandwich as the sauce was a little too vinegar tasting for me. Service was good, although once we got our meal the waitress disappeared for some time and we only received a refill when she brought the bill. The building seemed a little drafty...although that seems to be the case for a lot of the buildings in the Soulsbyville area. Lots of beers on tap, I'd like to come back again and try some of them out. read more

The service is great here, and the food is yummy. Can't wait to come back and try a burger. The grilled cheese was delish. Had to take half home b/c we ordered too much food (grilled cheese was just as good the next day with a bowl of soup!). Really happy to find a place in Sonora with outstanding service, a great beer selection and yummy eats with a big list of specials. read more

Very friendly staff, basic menu but with some interesting twists, and great a drink selection. The first time I visited was on New Years Eve around 3:00, a group of 4 we were the only people in the restaurant and it was COLD. $3 prosecco, happy hour beer and sliders were a hit as was the spicy pumpkin soup. The appetizers were a let down though, rock shrimp were small and bland, cumin tater tots tasted over cooked or stale. But the service was good and the menu looked promising- Second visit was a Friday, around 5:30. The place filled up quickly bit our waitress was great. I got a HUGE glass of the house wine, worth the $7. I'm not usually in the mood for a burger or salad at dinner time and unfortunately that's the bulk of their menu, however, the cod sandwich was delicious and the slaw was spicy as promised. My husband loved his Cubano and the shoe string fries. Both definitely could have lasted 2 meals but we devoured everything, I believe the menu is priced correctly. The fried avocado appetizer was mediocre, it could have used a sweet element to balance the venom sauce, but fun and different none the less. If you go in without the expectation of a dinner entre, and are looking for a nice burger or sandwich you won't be dissapointed. Definitely stop in for a drink and sliders! read more

Most amazing food here. Good beer selection. I was really surprised at how many good beers they had on the wall and not really sure why there was Coors light lol. I had the sliders and the quality was phenomenal. Great place to bring friends and family who are visiting from out of town. Awesome service too, everyone is smiling. read more

We decided to try this place again so we went in for lunch. The Last time here I had problems with a house salad so this time I ordered their Cobb salad and was presented with a work of art. At first glance this thing was LOADED with toppings. Tons of chicken, hardboiled egg, bleu cheese crumbles, the bacon was quite sizeable too the salad was fresh. The mixed greens gave it great flavor and substance I ate this thing in about 10 minutes and was definitely satisfied. Well done we will be back... read more

We stopped in here on our way to Yosemite and our first impression of the space was awesome. Roomy, laid-back, with a good selection of tasty looking food and beers on tap. We grabbed a seat in the bar with Meg (who, by the way, is a peach--so sweet and helpful). My boyfriend and I each had a beer and a sandwich. He had the Reuben with tri-tip and he said it was good, but not great. I had the portobello sandwich and for reasons unknown, we both thought it tasted like a hot dog. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't really what I was looking for in a veggie sandwich. The couple next to us was pretty vocal about how much they loved the brussels and I'm kind of kicking myself for not getting some. All in all, cool atmosphere and great service, but we just weren't crazy about what we ordered. If we're back in the area soon, we'll give it another try. read more

I have had nothing but a positive experience at the Standard Pour. I live locally and I have a large family. I found that the servings were large enough that I can divide them in half and serve one plate to two children and I can rarely finish my own plate. The service is excellent. As a matter of fact last time I was there the waitress knew I would be dividing plates and she brought extra plates and cutting knives so I could cut them up. AND she did everything with a genuine smile. The beer selection is excellent. Two of my sons LOVE the wild boar sandwich. Out of the many restaurants in Sonora I chose the Standard Pour for an upcoming event because I know it will be a great time. read more

The Standard Pour was my first dining experience upon moving to Sonora just yesterday. My first impression was fairly good. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the service was good (not great), and it boasts a simple but solid menu. I ordered the Kobe burger and thoroughly enjoyed it! The fries were pretty ok but left something to desire. Perhaps next time I'll try the garlic fries. The reason I had to knock it down to three stars is due to the price of the beer. The cheapest pint available is SIX DOLLARS! That's absolutely outrageous in my opinion, especially for the location of this restaurant. Suppose I was spoiled in Oregon with $3-4 quality micros and zero tax, but $6-7+ for a pint of beer is not something that makes me want to come back for more. If they offer some specials/ a good happy-hour or just bring the prices of brew down I could see my self becoming a regular but as it is, that's just not a sustainable option for me to grab a beer after work. I want to take the best of both DBG and Standard to merge....really. Love the beer selections at Standard, wish they were over at DBG with the better menu. Love the intimacy of DBG and wish it was over at Standard. You can customize almost everything on the menu at Standard, except for getting a 1/2 & 1/2 (half salad, half fries) like you can at DBG...which doesn't make any sense. Please for the love of everything holy, Eric...PLEASE don't put a pool table in...Standard is already loud enough. read more

Off the beaten path that's for sure. I have never eaten here but the food always looks and smells amazing. Beer and Wine only...though I do not recall seeing any wine. It's a cute old building that looks like it was once a bank. Haven't been here for a while. Met up with some friends and ordered a cubano sandwich. Hubby and I decided to split it and some fries. Fries were good. This Sammy advertised pulled pork, ham, pickles and chimichurri sauce. All I could taste was sour pickle. I opened my sandwich and there were a few strands of pulled pork, a slim piece of sandwich meat and over melted cheese? And a swipe of sauce. This was way below standard especially for a 12$ sandwich. Since we were with friends we decided to just go with it and not say anything. Will not return. read more

My other fave eatery in Tuolumne county. The food is so good. Interesting twists on some normal menu items, and it all works. Great burgers. It's very good, but there is room for improvement... First off I can't believe it has taken me this long to try this place! I've lived in the area my whole life and never even realized it was here (it's kinda off the beaten path), also, it's in a beautiful historic building! Apparently the building was renovated in the late 90's, but it looks like it may be time for a bit of a freshen up, things are starting to look a little dingy. Maybe a good scrub is all it needs? We were there at a slow time, but the staff was all friendly and attentive . The menu items all sounded wonderful, but what we tried all looked better on paper than it really was, we did a sampling of the appetizers: The pork belly- Just a big hunk of pork belly with a little sweet/tangy sauce, taste was good, but if it was supposed to be an appetizer maybe slice it for easy sharing? And a small bed of greens would be nice. The kobe sliders- My favorite of the night, could have been a little more rare for my taste, but good sauce, and I loved the slice of cucumber! Some kind of grainy/fresh roll could have bumped it up a notch. Bacon and cheddar hushpuppies- Tasted more like green onion hushpuppies, which was a surprise considering green onions were not even listed as an ingredient. Definitely needed a stronger flavor of bacon and cheese. If the prices were a tad lower perhaps I would't even suggest these changes, but for the price point they do seem appropriate. Or, I guess they could just lower the prices... It absolutely has the potential to be a 4-5 star place with just a few improvements to the building and food! read more

Great beer and wine selection - neat that they have Uinta Hop Nosh on draft! Really nice large bar makes a great place to watch a game or meet with friends. The Brussels sprouts had so much (delicious) bacon in the dish that it would have made a vegetable lover out of any carnivore. Sweet potato fries are just the right amount of crispy. Had a wonderful dinner with our family, the salmon was delicious, the desserts exceptional.

BEST BURGER IVE HAD IN A WHILE. I typically don't don't like burger places if they don't have hand pressed patties but they still had good meat. I asked for medium rare and that's exactly what I got. Their sweet potato fries are super great. A 7$ side of them isn't very big though. They give you way more fries with your huge burger. They did however forget to bring my friends chicken Caesar salad. read more

A hidden gem in Sonora. Parking is easy and the historical building is such a fun experience! Make sure you ask for a side of venom sauce- put it in the buttermilk parsley dressing and enjoy it with some fries! YUM! My husband and I love to go for lunch to the Pour, staff is always friendly and the food never disappoints. They have ataco Tuesday every week for $2 a taco, and it's delicious. For people who enjoy a brew, they have more than 25 beers on tap. Prices are reasonable and ambiance is always nice. They are closed on mondays read more

We had a great experience here, and we will definitely be coming back. We ordered to go for 10 people when we got in, and had a perfect amount of time to have a beer at the bar and admire the building. The beer selection was great, and our food was amazing! Everyone in our party was extremely happy with all the food we received, and everyone who got a Kobe burger said it was the best/one of the best burgers they've ever had! I personally had the barbacoa fries which were also amazing, and that snake venom really is hot (Which I enjoyed, but may be too spicy for others)! Great place and experience overall! read more

Saturday was the first time trying the Standard Pour, based on a recommendation we had gotten earlier in the day. First off we were seated quickly, the employees were very friendly. The menu has too many tasty sounding items. We ordered their onion rings as an appetizer and when they say full order they mean just that, a big bowl full of hot crispy sweet onion rings. Then I decided to go with their half pound cheeseburger. If you are tired of burned, dried out mystery meat, imitating a hamburger at a fast food place, then you need to come try the Standard Pour. My husband and I were visiting my daughter. This was a brunch treat. I couldn't believe what I heard ... Standard Pour. What a unique name. My mind was thinking of Wall Street's Standard & Poor. The building is so historic and zi like that. Good customer service. Friendly atmosphere for family or just couples. Food is great, my favorite is their Chicken Caesar Salad. I eat food I like, and if I don't like it, I won't eat it. This food is a special gem in Sonora. There are not many "fine dining" places in Tuolumne, and while Standard Pour is not fine dining, it does offer a level of elevation you don't find in Sonora. The style of cooking is classic bar food, elevated to a higher standard. Burgers, soups, and a huge assortment of sides all line the menu, yet there is an added bonus of refined foods like seared fish that are amazingly plated. Good food doesn't need to look nice, but the best food does, naturally. Personaly, my favorite meal is a cup of their potatoe and cheese soup (or black been with lime crema) followed by the portabella sandwich that is so beautifully seasoned your heart could melt. Then for desert, the amazingly sexy chocolate mousse cake. Good eats! read more
