A friend of mine and I came here for dinner on a Friday night and it was lovely. The building itself is very pretty and cozy, used to be a train station hence the name. I had a blood orange whiskey sour which was very tasty, I slurped it right down. For an appetizer I had the French onion soup and it was delicious. The cheese on top was gooey and very stretchy, made the perfect bite with the soup itself. For my dinner I had the burger and it exceeded my expectations. The only negative is they like to pack groups into small table space. I came here once in March and again Monday and Tuesday. All three times they pushed two tables together for parties of eight. When the chairs are touching each other there's no way 8 people are going to comfortably have a meal. Now that we've got that out of the way, the food is good. Monday I had the philly wrap with fries. Good flavor. A little greasy but that's part of the deal when you get a philly. The peppers and mushrooms were done well and the steak was tender and cooked correctly. Tuesday I got the Mediterranean salad with salmon and balsamic vinaigrette. A couple guys that ordered before got the salmon plate so I had a good feeling about throwing the salmon on the salad. It was delicious. The salmon was seasoned well and cooked medium so I didn't need a knife. The kalamata olives were depitted so that's plus. The feta cheese was excellent. I've yet to be disappointed so I'm sure I'll be back the next time I'm in town. read more

Consistency is the word I would you use describe this place. Been here several times and never had a bad meal. They are also very good with accommodating you for a specific item that may not be on the menu. If they have the ingredients, they will make it for you! Seasonal cocktails always keeping it interesting and very reasonable prices. If you've never been here before please give it a try. Very ample outdoor seating with an occasional train buzzing by. The music playlist was awful and random though, they really need someone to fix it lol. There's probably a million modern music playlists on Spotify or Apple Music, please just use one of those. Our server made us feel like we were unwelcome in the establishment. What was meant to be a celebration for my mothers birthday ended on a sour note. The server refused to split the check in half, did not check on us, and appeared mad for most of our time. The food was not tasty. My spouse ordered plain pasta with oil. It had an overwhelming garlic taste and was more of a creamy sauce. The chicken scarp did not have any spice to it. The peppers had a sour taste to them. AMAZING!! Absolutely one the best dinners I've had in CT ever. The building is huge and right in front of the train tracks so the whole theme is vintage train station which was gorgeous. We made a reservation but there was so much seating so we didn't need one in the long run for a 9pm seating. The drink menu was really nice. I ordered a winter white cosmo. Elderflower and white cranberry juice. So good! Garnished with a flower. My boyfriend got a martini. For dinner we ordered tortellini and pasta with broccoli rabe. Nice big portions loaded with flavor. My tortellini was served with peas, mushrooms and prosciutto. Both came with the option of a soup or salad. Our server Chelsea was amazing. She brought us more bread and water without even needing us to ask her. Service was really wonderful. We didn't order dessert but took a look at the menu and it had all the Italian classics plus a selection of cocktails and bourbon. We wanted to like this restaurant so much, but every dish was a disappointment. Ordered the clam special, advertised with Portuguese, sausage and white wine and garlic, they came out with one of the major components (sausage ) missing, the broth was simply flavorless clam wTer and the clams were the larger size, so chewy they were hard to break down. Our octopus was also very sparse and very chewy. And finally the sandwich we ordered with American cheese came with Swiss, and was very greasy... will not return. read more

Great place, friendly server and fresh, delicious food. My husband, my two kids and I found this place by accident and decided to try it! My husband and I both had the chicken Caesar salad and it was big and crisp, with lots of delicious chicken, cherry tomatoes and black olives. The grilled chicken was tender and not dried out as some places serve it. My son's cheeseburger was big and juicy and cooked perfectly. We always love to take family to The Station - it's good for special occasions or a semi-casual dinner. Some of my favorites are the Pene alla Vodka, Buffalo Chicken Wrap, Chicken Parm grinder and for apps: Calamari or Stuffed Mushrooms. My husband ordered the Captain Seafood Platter and it was well worth the price! We ordered from them a few times during the Pandemic and it was great service, tasty and good quality food, and was fabulous leftovers! The facility is really the highlight of the dining experience. The high ceilings and decorations are gorgeous, and it'd be a great location for a shower. I also think it's cute that the train still runs behind it. We went to lunch today at The Station and it was not as good as we had hoped. The appetizer special was a cheese meat and fruit platter. Initially when it arrived it looked somewhat normal. But at a close look many things were very odd and not good. For one thing it didn't have any crackers - but it had many things on the plate that would be odd to eat without a cracker. The biggest issue is that the chef dumped and entire can of anchovies on the plate. Every single item on the plate was covered in anchovy oil - including the fruit. And why was there a bowl of crazy odd fruit and orange slices? Nothing on the description mentions anchovies. Everything else we had was mediocre at best. They did take the plate away when asked and didn't charge us. But the waiter stared at me like I was nuts. It was like pouring dirt on the plate. Not good. read more

Generally, love the food but not tonight. The fish and Chips is like a soggy fish stick, just awful, especially when they used to have the best around. I suggested to the server he do his customers a favor and direct them to anything else. The charge was removed from the bill and was appreciated, but please go back to what you used to have or take this off the menu. With the increased costs of all the menu items, quality should matter. The staff was nice and attentive. The food was good overall. We were a large party and everyone tried something different and enjoyed themselves. A little pricy but we knew beforehand because we review the menu online. For a Tuesday night, we were surprised at the number of people were at the restaurant; it was not packed but a decent amount of people. They do have several areas where they serve food outdoors. They also allow dogs in the outside dining areas - saw a couple when we were there. Could have been service animals but we did not ask. Stopped in around 6 w/out a reservation. Only 2 seats available at the bar which was fine! Ordered a specialty Tequila drink which was described by the waitress...it was very good. I ordered the Zuppa de peshe with red sauce, there was a ton of seafood and pasta. The waitress was efficient and kind. My sister ordered the whole bellies which she thought were pretty light for the price! The only thing that needs to be addressed (pun intended) is that we saw our food being walked around everywhere and then to us! I dined on the front patio two days after the initial Covid lockdown was lifted (5/22/20) so I was just thrilled to feel a small return to normalcy. I realize the joy of being where the people are may have persuaded this review to be a bit higher than deserving - however my friend and I both enjoyed our food. She had a grilled chicken salad and I had the French onion soup and pasta puttanesca. Both were lovely- nothing jaw dropping- but I was so excited to be waited upon that the food was almost secondary. Still- I am happy we chose such a beautiful restaurant to break the covid lockdown. This is one of the best Italian restaurants in the Naugatuck/ Waterbury area! The food is so rich in flavor ! I always order the chicken already and the pasta sauce just melts right into your soul ! It's definitely one of our go to for special events because you can never go wrong with the variety and no matter what you chose it's going to be so flavorful! We were excited to try this place. The commercials make it look like a high end steakhouse. Upon entering the decor is ok, a little too bright for dinner but pretty. That's where it ends, our server was rude, very dry, almost annoyed we were there. It did seem she was nicer to her other tables so I started questioning if I had been rude. Table that sat after us received their drinks before us and bread, which we never received, even though I asked two people for it. My dinner, Chicken scarparella was swimming in grease. Went in as a party of six. I don't know how this spot is classified as New American or a Sports Bar. I was a little disappointed in the menu. It seemed to be mostly the same menu you see at 90% of Italian restaurants with a few tweaks. Servers knew very little about the beer selection. The cocktail menu had their standards and rotating offering. When I asked the server what else they had on tap they had to go check (no problem, soft opening), but came back with we have Stony Creek and Thimble Island. They did not say which specific beer, or the style. I followed up with what style, and humina humina humina.... It got a little awkward, so i just settled on one of the beers on the menu and when the check came the beer was $1 more than listed on the menu, Despite the rather vanilla menu selection, the food was actually pretty decent. I had a rib-eye which was cooked properly, but needed a little more seasoning, and my wife had eggplant. I really dislike this when it happens, but her pasta was not drained enough, so there was that big pool of red tomato-water in the bottom of her bowl. The venue inside is beautiful, they did a really great job converting our old train station. This place has a lot of potential, and with a little attention to detail could be much, much better. read more

We've been waiting for this place to open with great anticipation. Beautiful venue, with nice decor and several different areas to eat in, including a patio. polite friendly staff. They have music playing through quality sound system, just the right mix and volume. However, we had to wait far too long for our dinner after drinks and appetizers, almost an hour. The steak, particularly for the price was thin. The roasted potatoes were bland and dry, and even more of a disappointment because we ordered mashed and weren't informed they didn't have any. The seafood pasta I had, had watery sauce that didn't adhere to the pasta. The venue seemed understaffed. I suspect, since this is during a "soft opening", that they're working the bugs out. I'll give them another chance a couple months after their grand opening, as it clearly has potential. read more

Went during the soft opening before the actual opening. Very nice looking inside, loved the decor. Our group enjoyed several cocktails and beers which were very tasty and the prices were right! The staff needs to become familiar with drinks and the beers on tap. I sipped on a couple Naugy Greyhounds which I liked. Had the french onion soup which was tasty and enjoyed the stuffed eggplant for my entree. The menu has sandwiches, salads, soups, Italian dishes and the sort. My husband enjoyed a rib eye and said it was tasty. The only thing that bothered me, and my bro in law, his ordered meal of zuppa di pesce had quite a few closed mussels and mussel shards in his meal. If the time was taken to look through while they were plating the meal then it would've been more enjoyable. Glad to have another restaurant to go to in town, we'll be back and go to The Station again and I'd like to sit outside on the patio for sure. read more

After our dinner we were sitting and talking, finishing our drinks, a women with short blonde hair told us that there was another reservation coming in and if we could hurry to leave. There were other empty tables, and no one else was approached and asked to leave. We spent almost $200 and then rushed out? That's insane to me. GRINCHES AT THE STATION RESTAURANT NAUGATUCK... X-MAS EVE RESERVATION NOT HONORED!!!.. DID NOT ACCOMMODATE!... We have been loyal customers since you opened going many, many, many times to your restaurant for among other things: family birthdays, milestones, holidays, dinner out and lunch. I also have brought friends and work colleagues to your restaurant as well. So, this Christmas Eve our kids were scattered about the country so we figured why not go to one of our favorite places, the Station Restaraunt, Naugatuck, CT . My wife made reservations three weeks ago to make sure we had a reservation. She requested a 6:30 pm reservation for tonight, 12/24/2023. The girl who I heard on speaker phone told us, "No problem! 6:30pm on 12/24 Christmas Eve you are all set!" Fast forward to this evening, 12/24/2023. We arrived at 6:15 pm to make sure we were on time. On arrival we found all exterior doors locked. After knocking and waiting until a customer let us in we were told by a young woman who told us she had no reservations for us as they "stopped service at 6:00" After explaining we made and confirmed the reservation as described she simply said sorry, we stopped service at 6" I asked to speak with a member of management and she walked away briefly and came back and told us "you could eat in the bar" I pointed out an empty table for two right next to the front door and that people hadn't even been served yet and asked if we could sit there, we would order quickly and she told us we couldn't sit there because they stopped service but we could eat in the bar. So, we went into the bar and sat at the bar where we were ignored by the bartender who turned his back to us and started capping the taps. I called out to him and he continued to ignore us. A passing girl walked through the area behind the bar and seemed bothered we were there. I asked her if we could order dinner and eat here and she said she would have to check. The girl who sent us to the bar came in and said something to the bartender and this other girl. The other girl said she would be back. At this point after being treated rudely and ignored as I get it people don't want to work on Christmas Eve but if they do choose to work they need to know... be more empathetic to the situation of customers who were apparently given misinformation about a reservation made three weeks ago and who support their restaurant, be able to improvise and accommodate an obvious miscommunication from someone who took our call for a reservation as people in the restaurant had not even been served, maybe be a little more customer friendly and embrace the holidays with a smile instead of ignoring customers! Needlessly to say we had planned for a nice evening on this Christmas Eve at our favorite place to be treated rudely and locked out on NO FAULT OF OURS as we relied on your staff who took our call three weeks ago! I am also very upset that I asked to speak to a member of management and was BLATANTLY IGNORED! So, on Christmas Eve we drove around to try to find a place to enjoy a meal out to no avail and went home as places we went by were full on this busy night as was the reason we MADE A RESERVATION! Needless to say and you probably don't care but you have lost a loyal customer who has been giving you business and bringing you business since opened as well as telling people what a great place it is to now a family who will no longer patronize your establishment and will share my horrible customer experience in CHRISTMAS EVE for all things! Even Jesus was allowed in the manager! It might help to train your staff to be a bit more empathetic and that customers drive the business and how they act can effect a business' standing in the community! Eaten several meals here over the years, and I'd give the food 4 stars. Only had a couple of bad ones (both were chicken dishes). Pasta and burgers are always good. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside, and the outdoor seating is nice. Be warned... only one toilet each for men and women. How does that even meet code? Service here is 2 stars at best. Lunch is the exception, and things run more smoothly. For dinner, forget it. Staff is almost always rude, grumpy, and cranky. Wait time for food and time to get the check unreasonable long. Bank on 2 hours plus in and out the door. Last time I was here, met up with a group of 4 others (mostly ex co-workers I hadn't seen in 6 years plus). I was looking forward to it. Server was actually nice (there's a first for everything), food and drinks were good, all was well. After the meal, I wanted to place a to go order to bring home for my wife. I've done take out here before and placed order at the kitchen counter. They told me go to the hostess station and place the order there. The hostess station refused and told me go back to kitchen. I told the hostess they refused to take my order... went back to take out counter and placed order. Here's the worst part... random waitress (wasn't even serving us) then came over to table and chided me for not placing the order at the table! I told her I didn't want to place a takeout order in front of the group. So embarrassing to be called out like that in front of people I hadn't seen in so long!
