My wife came upon this lil spot on her way home from work, and after I had a major craving for nachos, we divided to give it a go. Immediately I was glad there was no overwhelming menu nor crazy amounts of variables. I got the Asada Nachos w/ an Horchata, while she got the Taquitos and a Diet Coke. Taquitos came with fresh sliced avacado, guacamole drizzle and lettuce. Nachos came with pico de gallo, guacamole drizzle, beans, melted cheese, & asada. From my point of view the Nachos were....Top Tier! Chips, not 1 stale piece. Cheese...let's talk about the cheeeeese! Omg, you know those places that will sprinkle cheese on top, and it's not even melted.Or you get the other side of cheese where it's melted but to the point of hardness!? Yea, not here...these ACTUALLY had cheese pull... ugh already talking to my heart. Then the Asada...ooohh the Asada... well seasoned and not salty! There were crisp pieces that were oh so good and sprinkled throughout... could I finish the Nachos, sadly no.. so they could be a 2 person shareable lol After we finished, we saw the flan, decided to keep going big and ordered 1 for $4.85 with the Cafe de Olla flavor. A new taco shop opens and I needed to try it! Parking: This place is located in a small parking lot. However they have some parking nearby in the rare event that you can't find parking. Food: The food is positively delicious! So many flavors and just the right amount of spice. Service: The cashier lady was super friendly and very helpful. The only area of improvement is their staff needs to learn how to roll a burrito. I picked it up and it completely fell apart. Never turn away from tacos and coke. We ordered carne asada and al pastor tacos. Hmmmmm mmmmmmm!! The meat was tender and flavorful just the way it should be. No skimping here. Topped with avocado, red, and green salsas. The taqueria is in a strip mall next to a flame broiler east of the 57 freeway. Its 1pm and the parking is 1/4 empty. Best asada fries in OC easily. They are consistently great, have huge portions, and the food always arrives hot and fresh. My wife loves the taquitos or tacos de papa. I always get the fries. Whenever I have guests over from out of town, I have to order the asada fries. Everyone that works there has been super kind. My wife and I are also gluten-free, ane so far everything has been safe for us to eat without any modifications. We aren't celiac, but I am allergic to wheat and this place has been my go-to. I thought this was a more better quality meat than cali tacos and they had the popular items like birria. Overall I like it but it's in a weird spot. Cali tacos is when you need that late night food. I even picked up food much later than my pick up time which was my fault and they were apologetic that my food sat out too long. The carne asada are perfectly cooked steak morsels. I can't tell if it's made to order but it sure tastes like it. Better than a scoop from premade meat for the taco. There are a few tables inside but I've never eaten there. I usually call to place my order and pick up. It does take a little longer than fast taco spots but not painfully long. Came here for lunch with my coworkers. We wanted to try a new taco place near by the office and decided to come and give Taco Boss . It hasn't been open for to long. It's a small place with only about 6 tables for people to sit and eat. The menu options is not very big either which sometimes helps you decide faster. We all decided to order the tacos governador which are tacos with shrimp and they are grilled with cheese and some tomatoes and some kind of sauce. They come 3 to an order. They were delicious and and nice and hot. One of my coworkers ordered the tacos de papa. They have tacos de barbacoa and other yummy things. She likes her tacos plain and I like mine with everything - because she is Mexican and I am white, they thought it would be funny to racially profile me and patronize me for the order when we picked it up, assuming the plain tacos were mine. My girlfriend understood them because she speaks spanish and called them out. They gaslit us and acted like they said nothing when they realized, including the cashier. I'm Hispanic and I'm very picky with my taco meat okay, and let me tell you these tacos are amazing. I love getting the vampiros with carne asada! The salsa's are great! Customer service is great too I feel bad for the cashier sometimes because it's just her and it gets busy even though it's such a small place. She does pretty great considering. I would've loved to give this place 5 stars but my daughters torta was reaaaally burnt...
