Hands down some of the best tacos I've ever had. I had this food catered to a work meeting and it came on time, warm and packaged well! The chicken was tender and well seasoned. The tortillas were warm and soft. The toppings were abundant! Multiple people loved the guacamole - it was chunky, citrus-forward and just downright delicious. This one takes a 5 star because the carne asada tacos i had were amazing! They dont skimp u on the emat and they got some nice chumks in there. They also come with guac which is a plus. They have a cilantro cream like sauce thats great on the tacos, a little kick but not too spicy. Good amount of seating but dont know if it could fit alot of people if it got busy. I love love love their churros and Al pastor burrito so much!!! First of all, the churros are freshly fried when you order them, like seriously, right when I said I would like churros they started frying them right in front of me! I love the flavor of them, the crisp on the outside and the fluffiness on the inside, I've never had a better churro in my life. Additionally, the main meal, the Al pastor burrito is to die for, the flavor of the Al pastor is so amazing and I love the addition of the pineapple to it, I am just in awe everytime I take my first bite. The tacos here are on the larger side, so while the price point of $4-$5 per taco is a bit higher than some other spots, you're definitely getting a good portion! The al pastor is my favorite because its flavorful and cooked just right. However, the carne asada was a bit dry on its own, but the variety of sauces they offer really helped balance it out! The store has a lot of seating but the parking lot can get filled up pretty quickly, since there's only one row of parking at the front. Otherwise, there's additional parking behind the building. It's a good place to grab a quick bite or dine in. I can see the line getting long and i've seen a line going out the door, but it goes by fast. Overall, if you're okay with paying a little more for bigger tacos and solid flavors, it's a great option, especially if you take advantage of their sauces and adjust the flavors to your liking. read more

We had tried the one in Laguna Beach a few weeks ago & wanted to try different locations. The costa Mesa location is at the Camp. Free parking although parking can be tough on weekends. We went on a weekday but smack in the middle of lunch time so there was line out the door & people competing for tables. This location only has indoor seating. Line moved fairly quickly & tables.became available quickly as well since most seemed to ne on their lunch break while working. Same lay out as the one in Laguna: salsa bar next to the soda fountain. I got the Baja fish taco, hubby got two el pastor tacos, & we shared the surf-n-turf fries (has shrimp & carne asada on top, with heaps of guacamole & cheese). It hit the spot & we left very satisfied. We couldn't hear the names being called out so people were crowding near the pickup area which is near the order line. Maybe they should just give numbers with the receipt or get a microphone? That will minimize people congregating near the pickup/order area which also happens to be at the entrance point. Great food & very good prices. Come prepared to stand in line, eye various tables guessing who may be leaving soon, strain to hear your name being called, & over all loud setting. They're always busy but our boy LUIS was cool, calm, and collected whenever the line is out the door (which it always is). This place is Mexican-people-approved. We took our in-laws while they were visiting from Mexico, and they loved it. I especially enjoy their shrimp tacos. I also tried their nopal (cactus) taco for the first time. I'd been warned it can be hit or miss, and for me, it was a miss--it felt like eating a piece of aloe: chewy with a bit of plant goo, for lack of a better word. However, my native Mexicans in-laws loved it, so it's safe to say this place is authentic. My mother-in-law especially loved their elotes (Mexican street corn). I just wish they served horchata and had more outdoor seating. Right now, the only outdoor seats are a few spots near the trash cans in front of the parking lot. Keep in mind, this place is often busy and parking can be tough. We went on a Thursday at 2 p.m., and the line was already out the door with almost no parking available. My favorite was the pollo, the carne asada wasn't anything special, maybe even a bit chewy but I still enjoyed it a lot! The tacos all come with salsas and a generous scoop of guac in them. Since it was busy it was hard to find a spot to sit. We sat at the high top/counter. If needed you could take the food to go to eat within The Camp.
