    Mushroom Taco
    Erica H.

Nice location! You can eat and then walk around and shop and get coffee or tea The mushroom taco is a 10/10. The char and flavor in the chunky mushrooms are delicious. Not soggy at all. They perfected them! The churros are delicious as well. Soft inside and crispy sweet on the outside. Don't forget your chips and guacamole. Not spicy at all, I add jalapeños from their salsa bar to give it a little more spice.

Órale, órale! This is my favorite taco spot in OC and it's a bit better than Los Cholos too. Been coming here for years now, the consistency and quality still remain the same and delicious. Never had a bad taco here, so you know they be putting up the good work. Came in last night, and no, they don't have Taco Tuesday specials, but I will still pay for those bomb ass tacos because it's definitely worthwhile. The whole place was pack and lit up with bright lights. It's by Chapman University, so you gonna see lots of students coming by too. The staff there were also friendly and patient. The lady in the back was nice to cut up new fresh limes for me. Always a good vibe here! It was random seeing some of my homies here too the other day. Just goes to show how popping it is! I got two el pastor and one carne asada, and my partner got a Baja fish and the mushroom taco. Everything a 5/5. Their homemade corn tortilla is on a different level and not soaked in oil. The texture is good. The meat is good quality too and very tender/juicy. My favorite one was the el pastor with those pineapple bites. The mushroom taco on the other to my surprise was quite tasty! All the sauces are bomb, but I really like the super spicy one, the green one, and orange one. You gotta try every sauce to see what matches your palate. The pickle onion was tangy enough and had pepper on it for a nice kick. The guac and chip is so good and well seasoned. Just wished there was more guac in the small cup. You guys gotta come thru for some good tacos and good vibes. Like LeBron always say, "TACOO TUESSZDAY!" lol.

What a great spot! Walked in and was immediately greeted by Ricky. He was so welcoming and friendly. Amazing customer service!! We tried tacos de pollo, pescado, are asasa and al pastor. All of them were delicious. Fresh salsa options and limones. And can't forget the churros!! Thanks for a great experience Ricky!

For a Sunday at 1:30pm it was crazy crowded. Like no personal space type of crowded. People would stand next to you and hover waiting for a place to sit, so overly crowded. Very small location, and parking is tough to get with paid parking everywhere. I do love the salsa bar, with variety of salsa options. The mild avocado salsa is the best! Also jalapeños and pickled onions available. The carne asada burrito comes with meat, beans and salsa. The churros are so warm, soft crunchiness and the glaze (condensed milk goodness) it comes with is heaven!

Al pastor taco. 5 bucks for this little flavorless taco. It's 4 bites a taco, $1.25 per flavorless bite. Not worth it

It's 5 dollars for a lil taco, 4 bites and you're done. Al Pastor was flavorless, sub par for a taco spot. Not worth the money. They have 10 people behind the counter, but yet it takes an extremely long time to get your food.

    BEAN & CHEESE BURRITO

Parking is a nightmare, but finding seating in the restaurant is worse. Ordered a bean and cheese burrito, it only has one bite of cheese. Took 45 minutes for food to be ready and everyone that ordered their food after us got it before us. I've been to the Taco Stand in Vegas and went back multiple times because it was so good. I won't be back to this location as the entire experience was bad.

The Taco Stand is easily my favorite taco spot in the OC. Even when it's busy, the service is consistently quick, making it a super easy go-to. A huge highlight is that they actually include avocado on the tacos, which really sets them apart. They also have a great salsa selection at the bar so you can dial in the flavor exactly how you like it. Definitely a solid 5-star spot if you're looking for quality and efficiency.

    Al Pastor Taco
    Carrie Z.

I tried the Al Pastor taco, and for $5 (including tax and tip), it was a win. Al Pastor: The flavors were actually on point, so much so that I was ready to go back and order a second one. Salsa Bar: They have a self-service salsa bar where everything tasted fresh and well-made. The Experience: It's a straightforward, solid spot. The only thing is that the tables were not clean.

Shrimp Burrito- Very good- 4 stars
    Mary D.

The Taco Stand originated in San Diego, and made its way to Orange County in 2019. This location is in the Orange Circle next to Snooze AM Eatery. I tried their Shrimp Burrito $10.50. The service was good and our food came out quickly. The only thing about the shrimp burrito is it did not come with any beans or rice, just shrimp and cabbage, but the chipotle sauce was good. I look forward to coming back and trying their variety of tacos and quesadillas. This place has a straightforward menu with good food. They also have a salsa bar with condiments for your food. There is a lot of seating, but they get very busy at lunchtime and fill up fast. Happy eating! Yelp Review #5- 2026

Might be my favorite tacos in SoCal. Hand made tortillas, good quality meat, great salsas, closest thing to a TJ taco that you will find in SoCal. Can't forget about the great staff, Ernesto is always making sure we are taken care of.

Parking is on the street but I found some okay on a Monday night. Indie is decorated nicely, I like the retro casual feel with high ceilings. I ordered the California burrito & the pastor taco. The California burrito was massive & delicious, I got some extra sour cream on the side & added some green salsa inside. The pastor taco was delicious as well. I liked the salsa bar. My friend got the carne asada fries & loved them. The staff were all very nice & friendly. The food did take around 20 minutes which wasn't bad but remember to be patient as they do hand make everything. Would definitely come back again.

Im allergic to pork. Is there cross contamination with the el pastor when I order other types of food?

    yes

Do you have a taco Tuesday deal?

    Nah

    This place is closed?

Nope - still open as far as I know.

What kind of fish is used in the baja taco?

For our Baja Taco we use swai fish that is battered.

Do they have any Taco Tuesday specials?

What's the capacity of the store and are there taco Tuesday specials?

Capacity is small, approx 25 people maybe.

    Yes

Are the corn tortillas and chips 100 percent gluten free?

I ordered the same meal, the veggie tacos, and they were nowhere near as good as the first time. After staying away for a long while, we decided to give Gabbys another shot, but once again the food was underwhelming. This place just seems very inconsistent, and the service was mediocre at best. My wife ordered a steak burrito, and when the food arrived, the burrito had no meat in it at all. She had to send it back. It's hard to understand how a steak burrito goes out without steak. It also feels like everything is pre-batched, which takes away from the quality and freshness. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, I personally would not recommend this place. The food feels very Americanized and lacks the traditional flavor and quality you'd expect from authentic Mexican cuisine.

We had a reservation and they seated us at a pretty big table, which I liked. The servers were very timely, kind, and knowledgeable about each dish on the menu and the rotating specials. The inside of the restaurant was HUGE. I'm pretty sure it was built inside of a church. I really liked the stained glass and elevated seating areas nearby, it reminded me of the Old Spaghetti Factory layout in Fullerton. Overall, I had a very positive experience. I had to get a Diet Coke and of course, it was crisp to my expectations. A little heads-up, unlike the Costa Mesa location, they do not have horchata. Nevertheless, I'd come here again to try their burritos, tostadas, and salads!

When we got there, I let the server know but it didn't seem to matter because he didn't ask my name or time, he just seated us. That works for me! Glad we didn't have to wait, we had to make it a fast meal! We waited about 5 minutes before we were greeted by our waitress. I had seen they had just started serving the soft serve margaritas on their IG and I was SUPER excited to order one! I asked our waitress (Rosie) what flavors were available and she had to ask someone else. Ok, no worries, they had mango and strawberry. I asked for a swirl. My husband ordered a shot of patron anejo sherry cask. She did not seem to understand what he was asking for even though it was an item listed on the menu. He repeated himself a couple times and even pointed to it on the menu before she said "I'll have to check with the bar" she took the rest of our order which consisted of another cocktail, the empanadas, and an order of enchiladas. She left for a bit and came back saying they had his tequila. Then another waitress came back a few moments later asking how he wanted his tequila. After our order was in, we received our chips and salsa. The salsa was delicious! Not too long after, my empanadas came out and they were overdone. Burnt. The pastry was bitter, but not just because it was overcooked, but because it seems like the oil was old. The filling wasn't what I was expecting, but it was tasty. My husband's enchiladas were good. I had one bite. After our meal, husband ordered one more cocktail and the dessert chimichanga. Same bitter oil taste on the chimichanga, I wasn't a fan. When we were brought the check, it turns out we were overcharged for the tequila. We brought it up to the waitress and she told him he ordered a different one when he had repeated "patron anejo sherry cask" to her multiple times. I don't even know if there's more than one sherry cask tequila on the menu! Anyway, she was able to adjust the bill to charge us for the correct tequila but the husband still didn't get to drink the tequila he wanted. Oh well.

The carnitas themselves are the star--tender, juicy pork that's been slow-cooked to perfection with that signature crispy edge on some pieces, delivering rich, savory flavor without being overly greasy. It's seasoned just right, with a nice balance of porky goodness and subtle spices that let the meat shine. Wrapped in a large, fresh flour tortilla (they make their own in-house, which always helps), it's stuffed generously with the classics: fluffy Mexican rice, creamy refried or whole beans (depending on your preference, but both work great), chopped onions, cilantro, and a solid dose of salsa. I went with their green salsa for a bright, tangy kick that cuts through the richness perfectly, plus a dollop of sour cream and cheese for that creamy melt. No skimping on portions here--it's hearty and filling, easily a meal that satisfies for hours. At around $10 (give or take, based on current pricing), it's a great value in the area. The burrito holds together well without falling apart mid-bite, and the overall balance of textures--tender meat, soft rice/beans, crisp onions--makes every mouthful enjoyable. If you're in the mood for classic carnitas done right in a casual, bakery-taqueria spot with great salsas and a friendly vibe, this one's definitely worth grabbing. I'd rate it 4.5 out of 5--only docking half a point because it's not reinventing the wheel, but it's executing the traditional style exceptionally well. Highly recommend if you're near 728 N Tustin St in Orange! Pair it with an horchata, yum
