When I came for my scheduled follow up appt 2 weeks later, she was not there nor was my dress in the store. I made another appointment, when I showed up, she had not done the sleeves, and the adjustment to the bodice was bad and she had changed how the zipper laid. In total, I went to her place 5 times before taking the dress to another person, 3 of those 5 times she was no show/reschedule. Mary was very mean to me, demanding that she never said certain alterations were included, like bringing in the sides, and I had to produce the receipt she had written it down on. After seeing her handwriting, she then said very mean things about my body and made me cry. The other alterations person said she did the bodice and the zipper in a non professional way. Mary said she would give me a half refund of $250, of which she only has given $80 bc I showed up in person asking and it has been 3 months of me asking. I think if your a UCLA student looking to get pants hemmed, her store would be a great fit, but I would avoid for any wedding or complicated things. Make sure you take a picture of what you drop off and have her write down what she's agreed to do -- she spent a lot of time saying untrue things, and then I'd show her the picture of how the zipper looked before she messed it up, etc. Included is a picture of her work where she 'fixed' the bodice chest part.

They are not cheap but they are really good, and this is a skill I will never have (despite knowing how to sew, I cannot alter my things or make pants even. Most recent drop off was the regular-learned-the-hard-way-not-to-wash clothing items and hubby's fave à la Mr. Rodger's cardigan. Stretched out button holes, it had become incapable of keeping him snug, cozy. $8 per to tighten them = snug, cozy. I truly would have messed up this repair. ALL items cleaned with care, packaged appropriately ready to be worn this coming fall/winter. Short term drop-off/pick-up parking at entrance off of Westwood Boulevard and Holman Avenue. We usually walk to Sterling Cleaners for drop-off but pick-up via our car(s). Made the mistake at pick-up by parking in an employee only zone. Fortunately, thanks to efficient staff, I was only in an employee's space for mere minutes. Whew! Check-in on Yelp but there's no longer a discount along with it. When I mentioned this we were given a 25% off neighborhood courtesy. Sterling Cleaners now prefers a Google review but I'm gonna stick with Yelp.

I explained the nuance & what I was looking for, and next appointment it was perfect. They also advised PERFECTLY on the length, the train, and the bustle. These guys know their stuff. In addition to their craft, their turnarounds and prices are incredible - that's what bumped them from "excellent" to "rave about them to friends" in my book. I was able to book my appointment same week, the first turnaround was one month, and the second turnaround (which was no additional cost) was another week. They also quoted me about 1/3 of what an experienced, luxury wedding dress alterations specialist quoted me. He completely transformed a pair of expensive leather pants that were a couple sizes too large and they turned out perfect. He really is an artist, and his stitching and lines are so clean. I'm not easy to please and haven't had to ask Justin to redo any of the clothing I've brought. You can see he's a perfectionist and takes great pride in the work he does. His rates aren't cheap but very fair for the level of quality he provides. 100% recommend.
