The owner doesnt care if you state an allergy and the food comes out incorrectly and makes you puke immediately. The menu has VEGAN and GLUTEN FREE written everywhere so you'd expect after telling the server about being highly allergic to take respect in making the food. Instead the food came out wrong and just reheated, burnt and disgusting. We have dined here many times because of limitations and to be told by the owner "well we aren't a vegan restaurant" after throwing up is just terrible. I was told to have a nice night. Beer on tap.... That's about the best thing we can say about this place, sorry. Food was not good... Pita chips with the hummus appetizer crispier than a burnt cracker ( crumbled when you tried to break it in half), beer cheese tasted burnt as did the pretzel bites that came with it- hard, not doughy. Pulled pork nachos- out of pulled pork- said ok to substitute chicken... Chicken chunks we're ok as well as the BBQ sauce drizzle but they used the same burnt cheese on their round Tostitos chips... & so... disgusting as well. There were 4 of us.. & all of us dine out quite often...worst meal in quite awhile. SO SAD, because we have been here many times before, took our friends here for their first night on the island ... My wife and I recently got married at a private house in St John.... but we live in Los Angeles. There was lots to do and it was difficult to do considering we were 3500 miles away. Tim not only was helpful - he and the Tap Room supplied the beer for the reception - the Tap Room's great atmosphere and incredible crafted beer made it the go to spot for all the nightly meet ups by all of our guests. When was the last time that you have been to a bar that was just a clean bar? no food. well, maybe some pretzels, a nice long bar, a few tables. what do they have there? well, they have a few beers on tap, including the st. john brews, by the st. john brewers. while there, i was happy to try the st. john summer ale, which was more than refreshing, and the girlier side of me tried their mango pale ale, which may become one of my favorite summer beers (if only i could get it here in the usa!). a whole bunch of friendly people, and this is generally a small room in the mongoose junction shopping center, if you can call it that, where you can get a good local beer. i very much enjoyed myself, and would come back here in a heart beat. read more

You also must try the Green Flash energy drink (with vodka), housemade lemonade (I suggest vodka also :)), and Rum and Rootbeer (I know, sounds terrible, but my husband is now addicted). Draft beer is hard to find in the VI, but here you can find all of their brews plus some other guest brews. Seasonal pumkinhead was awesome as well as the blueberry. My favorite was the summer ale, which I could drink all day. When we found out about Virgin Island Brewery we wanted to try them all and not from a bottle. Solid Beer. In addition to their own pours they have few guest beers, but the ones they were pouring you can get elsewhere. I recommend the Island Hoppin IPA. You will find this in bottle all around the island but I preferred it on Tap. The Mango Pale was also interesting. Think BBQ with this one. read more

We had some beer, pizza and an appetizer. The mango ale was great and very refreshing. My husband also liked the coconut brown ale. Each pint is $5 which is not bad at all. We also had a shot of "wah" which is watermelon vodka wiry their homemade energy drink. My daughter had a Margarita pizza which was really small - maybe 6 inch -for $9.50. The crust didn't look like a real crust and was burnt. I had a Bavarian pretzel which was about a 6-inch burnt dough. Our bill was about $62 and we got a BOGO coupon for their pint glasses which you can purchase at their store downstairs, each costs $8. Items in the store are a bit pricey but nice. read more

Whenever we visit St. John for vacation, Tap Room is a must for us. We love to try the local beers whenever we are someplace different. I love the mango and summer ones. This past visit we found out that they were actually serving food now as opposed to the last time we were on the island. The four of us split the pulled-pork nachos and they were really good. Also when you check into The Tap Room on Yelp, they give you a free pretzel with cheese sauce with a purchase of 2 drafts. Pretzel came out warm and delicious. We were so looking forward to drinking yummy beers after all the watery stuff offered on the island. Beers are good - IPA needs a bit more hoppy kick, the Mango Pale Ale really did taste like Mango (we don't like fruity beers but if we did we would like this one) and the Liquid Sunshine is yum.
