Very nice welcoming employees. the food was incredible. will definitely be back as i am nearing taking my scuba courses with eco dive center right near by!

The two ladies here are incredibly sweet and welcoming! I popped in for a to-go order while they were busy, but they were also happily cheering on a soccer game. I know absolutely nothing about the sport, but one of them got so excited about a goal that she passionately explained the game to me. Her energy was so infectious that I think I'm officially a soccer fan now! I will definitely be back, even if it's just for the wonderful, welcoming vibes.

Nice to see they still celebrate Christmas :)

Hole in the wall open on Christmas. I forget Thai is open not just Chinese. They got the tree tho. I'll take this over Starbucks closing on Xmas with no Xmas music. They have the classics playing. And even Christmas mass on TV. Reasonable prices I just got wonton soup for myself. Come to think I think I got wonton soup last year on Christmas. Not here tho. Hmm. It's cuz it's cheap that's why.

Food and service were so excellent. It's nice to still see mom and pop places give good quality food and portions for affordable prices. The ambiance is very small and quaint but it is a perfect intimate date spot or perfect to order food to go!

When a Meal Becomes a Reminder Food: (4 out of 5) Service/Experience: (2 out of 5) Overall: (3 out of 5) I visited Taste Kitchen Thai Food Restaurant in West L.A. on Sepulveda because I had a serious craving for Thai shrimp fried rice. The restaurant is takeout only -- which was fine, because I planned to eat in my car. The food came out fast, the portion was generous, and the shrimp fried rice was solid. What stuck with me wasn't the food. It was the way something simple -- asking for an extra chili sauce packet -- turned into a whole situation. I asked for one packet and it already felt like I was pushing it. I asked for a second -- because of the size of the portion -- and the woman froze, like I had crossed some invisible line. Had I been white, I doubt it would've even been a question. Two packets would've been handed over without hesitation. And if I had been sharing the meal? One packet wouldn't have been enough for two people -- barely enough for one. They smiled and told me to enjoy my meal, but by then, the moment had already happened. Eating in my car wasn't the issue. Trying to eat with a flimsy, tiny fork that couldn't even hold the food was. For the kind of portions they serve, better utensils aren't optional -- they're basic. Being a Black customer means these aren't isolated incidents. They are constant reminders: even the smallest ask gets weighed differently. The food was good. The message behind it was louder.

Pad see ew with beef, was amazing. And yellow curry with chicken.

Wanted to try a new local Thai joint with my dad and this place did not disappoint. We have high expectations when it comes to asian food and love our hole in the wall places, and this has to be a new one for the list. I was able to make a reservation for Wednesday night which was nice as the restaurant was only like five tables and surprisingly got busy for a late mid week dinner. We shared the pad see ew, pad Thai, yellow curry and Thai tea and Thai iced coffee. We genuinely enjoyed everything. The drinks had the perfect flavor and were super creamy. The pad see ew was by far my favorite. The sweet noodles with the beef and veggies were perfectly cooked and I'm so glad I had leftovers. The yellow curry was my second favorite, we got it with chicken and rice. The only thing is I wish we had bowls for it as the curry is incredibly thin and it's hard to eat off a plate. The pad Thai was beautiful and had great flavor. We got the combination of seafood and meats, it was good and had tons of flavor. The food came out relatively quick and it was all so fresh. The flavors were spot on. The waitress was super sweet and packaged up our leftovers for the both of us. She gave us our time and didn't rush us out, we actually had to ask for the check because she really just wanted to let us enjoy our meal. It's a really cute hole in the wall/mom and pop shop which are my favorite businesses to support. You can tell this is authentic Thai food, some of the best I've had.

This is how it looks like inside.

One of my favorite Thai dishes, Khao Soi. Not every restaurant has it on their menu, but they do. It was delicious! I went around 2:30pm on a Wednesday. There were a lot of people getting take out orders. Please note there are only three tables.

Found this place on Yelp and now I'm a fan. Met my friend here and it was our first time. Delicious and authentic food. Great service and attentive staff. It's a little place that is large on flavor. We both enjoyed the food that we ordered. From starting with the Crispy Cream Cheese wonton, to the Drunken Noodle and Pineapple Fried Rice the presentation and portions. Looking forward to eating here again and thanks to ladies or letting my friend and I catch up for over 2 hours. The Thai Iced Tea was so refreshing.

While watching Sunday Night Football I was in the mood for some spicy Thai food. I had never tried The Taste kitchen, so I gave it a try and was not disappointed. I ordered the Chef's Special Khao Soi with Chicken. My spice level was Spicy as Thai spicy is extremely Spicy. The spice level was perfect and the portion was generous. This dish was very flavorful and also came with hard noodles that I'd didn't eat. Overall I was impressed with this dish and would order from them again.

I got the Creamy Tom Kha Chicken Noodle soup with a side of brown rice, my friend ordered the Yellow Curry, and my other friend ordered the Soft Shell Crab Curry. Everything tasted really good. Nothing was too spicy, especially my dish -which I asked to be medium spicy- and my friend who can't do spicy foods was able to eat it too. The pricing was commensurate with the quality, locale, and atmosphere. I'm knocking off one star because it took a long time for someone to take our orders. I think they were waiting until our entire table was seated, but they could have at least taken our drink and appetizer orders while we waited for our third person to join us. But after that initial hiccup, Service was friendly and attentive. Would definitely come here again if we are in the area!

My sugar sugar and I were looking for a place to have lunch with our daughter and saw this out the corner of our eyes. We pass it all the time but never thought to stop. One thing I love is some good Thai food. I'm from Long Beach and we're know for Thai food! So I have high expectations!!! There's certain cultures that absolutely cook with love and Thai food is at the top of that list. The marriage of flavors are unique and divine. BKK101 does just that!! We were greet with warmth and offered to sit anywhere we like. Since our daughter is young they brought us a high chair and a kids cup to keep her occupied (thank you!). I love the look and feel of the place. Small but inviting. We ordered veggie spring rolls, shrimp pineapple fried rice, and yellow curry with tofu. The curry came with a side of white rice too! Spring rolls were delicious with the right amount of crunch but the sauce. The sauce. The sauce. Yummers! Almost licked the plate! Yellow curry with tofu was heavenly. The right amount of heat, flavor and veggies. I loved the potatoes and carrots and the baby did too! But the show stopper for me was the pineapple fried rice. Who would have thought cashews and raisins in some rice would taste so good!!!! It was cooked perfectly!!! Right amount of curry and veggies. I wanted it for myself but my mama taught me that sharing is caring. All items were piping hot meaning, they cook to order. (Chefs kiss inserted here) When I say this place was so good we actually went back a week and a half later and took another daughter with us. Got literally the same dishes cuz they were sooooo good! At least it does to me - maybe because its one of my go to Thai restaurants. Attentive. Friendly. Nice. All of the above. As for the dishes - I love how they follow through and prepare mine spicy, even Thai spicy. I know a few years ago, someone came out and asked to confirm I wanted Thai spicy. Even last night, I asked for "Hot" on the spice level. I won't say it's not hot, because it's not for me, but for those who don't eat fire ... The portions are good. Flavors are delicious and I keep going back for more every so often. I can't say I have a favorite dish as I order whatever I feel like at the time. And I haven't had a bad dish because looking through my photos, I know I'd order anyone of those dishes again. Anyway, I love this place.
