Food and service were so excellent. It's nice to still see mom and pop places give good quality food and portions for affordable prices. The ambiance is very small and quaint but it is a perfect intimate date spot or perfect to order food to go!

When a Meal Becomes a Reminder Food: (4 out of 5) Service/Experience: (2 out of 5) Overall: (3 out of 5) I visited Taste Kitchen Thai Food Restaurant in West L.A. on Sepulveda because I had a serious craving for Thai shrimp fried rice. The restaurant is takeout only -- which was fine, because I planned to eat in my car. The food came out fast, the portion was generous, and the shrimp fried rice was solid. What stuck with me wasn't the food. It was the way something simple -- asking for an extra chili sauce packet -- turned into a whole situation. I asked for one packet and it already felt like I was pushing it. I asked for a second -- because of the size of the portion -- and the woman froze, like I had crossed some invisible line. Had I been white, I doubt it would've even been a question. Two packets would've been handed over without hesitation. And if I had been sharing the meal? One packet wouldn't have been enough for two people -- barely enough for one. They smiled and told me to enjoy my meal, but by then, the moment had already happened. Eating in my car wasn't the issue. Trying to eat with a flimsy, tiny fork that couldn't even hold the food was. For the kind of portions they serve, better utensils aren't optional -- they're basic. Being a Black customer means these aren't isolated incidents. They are constant reminders: even the smallest ask gets weighed differently. The food was good. The message behind it was louder.

This is how it looks like inside.

One of my favorite Thai dishes, Khao Soi. Not every restaurant has it on their menu, but they do. It was delicious! I went around 2:30pm on a Wednesday. There were a lot of people getting take out orders. Please note there are only three tables.

Pad see ew with beef, was amazing. And yellow curry with chicken.

Wanted to try a new local Thai joint with my dad and this place did not disappoint. We have high expectations when it comes to asian food and love our hole in the wall places, and this has to be a new one for the list. I was able to make a reservation for Wednesday night which was nice as the restaurant was only like five tables and surprisingly got busy for a late mid week dinner. We shared the pad see ew, pad Thai, yellow curry and Thai tea and Thai iced coffee. We genuinely enjoyed everything. The drinks had the perfect flavor and were super creamy. The pad see ew was by far my favorite. The sweet noodles with the beef and veggies were perfectly cooked and I'm so glad I had leftovers. The yellow curry was my second favorite, we got it with chicken and rice. The only thing is I wish we had bowls for it as the curry is incredibly thin and it's hard to eat off a plate. The pad Thai was beautiful and had great flavor. We got the combination of seafood and meats, it was good and had tons of flavor. The food came out relatively quick and it was all so fresh. The flavors were spot on. The waitress was super sweet and packaged up our leftovers for the both of us. She gave us our time and didn't rush us out, we actually had to ask for the check because she really just wanted to let us enjoy our meal. It's a really cute hole in the wall/mom and pop shop which are my favorite businesses to support. You can tell this is authentic Thai food, some of the best I've had.

While watching Sunday Night Football I was in the mood for some spicy Thai food. I had never tried The Taste kitchen, so I gave it a try and was not disappointed. I ordered the Chef's Special Khao Soi with Chicken. My spice level was Spicy as Thai spicy is extremely Spicy. The spice level was perfect and the portion was generous. This dish was very flavorful and also came with hard noodles that I'd didn't eat. Overall I was impressed with this dish and would order from them again.

Found this place on Yelp and now I'm a fan. Met my friend here and it was our first time. Delicious and authentic food. Great service and attentive staff. It's a little place that is large on flavor. We both enjoyed the food that we ordered. From starting with the Crispy Cream Cheese wonton, to the Drunken Noodle and Pineapple Fried Rice the presentation and portions. Looking forward to eating here again and thanks to ladies or letting my friend and I catch up for over 2 hours. The Thai Iced Tea was so refreshing.

I can't taste the kitchen but I can taste the taste coming from the GREAT kitchen here at Taste Kitchen. Speedy service and very nice flavor on all their offerings. We threw down with PHAD THAI DRUNKEN NOODLE Both were very good. Parking is tight but it is what it is...it's an L.A. thing! We'll be back!

Pineapple fried rice with chicken & shrimp (has a yummy curry kick) and Hot Pot Wonton Soup! A must try!

Everyone in the family thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The restaurant itself was modern, clean, and the service was friendly. The only issue is the parking lot, which is extremely tight. Finding a spot even for a quick takeout pickup can be a challenge. Also, be careful with the spice levels because the spicy dishes definitely pack a serious punch. Highly recommended!

Their crab noodles are a must try and you will love any of their pork dishes. There is just not a bad dish there. It is all great. We also enjoy their vegan menu.

My sugar sugar and I were looking for a place to have lunch with our daughter and saw this out the corner of our eyes. We pass it all the time but never thought to stop. One thing I love is some good Thai food. I'm from Long Beach and we're know for Thai food! So I have high expectations!!! There's certain cultures that absolutely cook with love and Thai food is at the top of that list. The marriage of flavors are unique and divine. BKK101 does just that!! We were greet with warmth and offered to sit anywhere we like. Since our daughter is young they brought us a high chair and a kids cup to keep her occupied (thank you!). I love the look and feel of the place. Small but inviting. We ordered veggie spring rolls, shrimp pineapple fried rice, and yellow curry with tofu. The curry came with a side of white rice too! Spring rolls were delicious with the right amount of crunch but the sauce. The sauce. The sauce. Yummers! Almost licked the plate! Yellow curry with tofu was heavenly. The right amount of heat, flavor and veggies. I loved the potatoes and carrots and the baby did too! But the show stopper for me was the pineapple fried rice. Who would have thought cashews and raisins in some rice would taste so good!!!! It was cooked perfectly!!! Right amount of curry and veggies. I wanted it for myself but my mama taught me that sharing is caring. All items were piping hot meaning, they cook to order. (Chefs kiss inserted here) When I say this place was so good we actually went back a week and a half later and took another daughter with us. Got literally the same dishes cuz they were sooooo good! What bothered me most was that nobody mentioned this beforehand. If I hadn't asked, I never would have known. The seafood portions were also very small--the shrimp, scallops, mussels, and calamari were each about the size of a quarter. I'm not kidding l, lol. The fish was the only generously sized portion. To make matters worse, I found a fruit fly floating in my soup. After spending nearly $30 on the meal, I was surprised that no discount or accommodation was offered.
