    Pad kee mow lunch special
    Thu D.

I ordered the pad kee mow lunch special to go, which came with a small side salad and egg roll. For the spice level, I got medium, which I felt was a tad spicier than other places. It was still okay for me, but be cautious if you're not used to spicy food. I didn't like the sweet dressing on the salad, but the egg roll was fine, and the pad kee mow itself was pretty good.

Came here on a weekend with friends as we were craving for Thai food. Ordered family-style dishes to share with four people. Tom Kha Soup (Large) - delicious creamy coconut soup with mushrooms and chicken. Plenty for 4 people to share. Sweet Basil Eggplant - perfectly stir-fried eggplant with tender beef slices. Soft Shell Crab Curry - creamy yellow curry that matches perfectly with the Crab Fried Rice we had ordered. Just enough spiciness and can't go wrong with the crispy soft shell crab. Crab Fried Rice - lightly seasoned fried rice with plenty of real crab meat mixed with fried eggs. Even better with the soft shell curry! Plenty for 4 people to share. Pad Kee Mow - delicious stir-fried flat rice noodle with vegetables. Simple and causal interior, with both outdoor and indoor seating. Parking can be an issue as there is a farmer's market on the weekend (we are there on Sunday). So you will to look for street parking. Good overall service as well. Worth checking it out when in the area!

This is my favorite Thai place!! I either visit the actual restaurant or I order delivery via DoorDash whenever I'm craving Thai food. I recommend the following: Pad Thai: I get chicken and mild option, but select medium if you want more spice Veggie rolls: you can never go wrong with these! They come with a house-made sweet and sour sauce and it's very tasty! Sweet and sour with Chicken: my favorite part is that it comes with pineapple pieces! If you dine in, service is very fast. There's about five indoor dining tables and a few tables outside, too. My only complain is via DoorDash. I ordered Sticky Rice because the description said that it came with mango and coconut cream; sadly, it was only sticky rice. Please fix this issue. I already reported it to DoorDash too.

Place is pretty small and cozy. Very clean! Does have outside seating available. I visited around 1pm and it was not busy at all. Greeted as soon as I walked in and didn't wait long to be seated. I ordered their Pad Thai lunch special (with chicken) which came with a small side salad and veggie roll. Sweet sticky rice and their house Thai Tea. Food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. All of it was delicious!

Amazing Thai food and would definitely come again. My family and I got the yellow curry, pad see ew, and I even got a bubble tea here. Everything was fantastic! Flavorful and delicious for sure. Service is also super quick and they're very attentive. The cafe itself is nice and cozy with a relaxed atmosphere

The picture below if something I can't recommend to new customers if the portion control continue at this level. So sorry to say at $100 dollars. This does not even service 5 people . First impression and presentation is not there. 4 item at 100. I got no words. Small place . It's took them 30min to make and it's a small portion How's the taste . It's so low on portion I was so let down I wanted to just make a review . Everything taste so well just the way I like it but again the portion control is just bugging me.. I recommend this place but not my cup of tea regardless the location. the rice please fill it to the top? it's just rice and you're charging me $17 Dollars. $17 for this much noddle ...crazy the coconut soup that's a large . Hard to comprehend.. I don't know . Just a let down on short change on the portion. Sad .

    Mango Sticky Rice

Needed mango sticky rice bad. I've been craving it for months and my usual Thai restaurant doesn't offer it to-go. I tried Good Day last night on DoorDash. The mango sticky rice was so so so good. The rice was super sticky and the mango was ripe and sweet. The coconut crème was the perfect addition and not over powering. This was one of the best mango sticky rice desserts I've had.

This is the sister restaurant for Celadon in the Marina del Ray. Just as good and cutie. They are more cafe style. Food was tasty and their lunch special is a terrific value. Service is excellent. They also have a seating inside and out and the outside has heated fixtures for night time. We just found this place, if you live in Mid-City come here for your thai and you won't be disappointed.

The regular menu is quite expensive with the cheapest at $17 for appetizer and salad options and most expensive at a whooping $80. The lunch menu was more affordable but still on the pricey side $21-$32 with add on options. The waitress was taking our orders and what surprised me was with my co-worker ordered the pad see ew and the waitress asked her how spicy she wants it. I was aw shocked. I'm not a Thai food expert but I do know pad see ew is a noodles dish that's offers a sweet soy sauce flavor. Never served spicy. I didn't get to try the dish but when I asked my co worker how it taste she said it was spicy and not sweet at all. I'm not sure that was an authentic pad see ew. I ordered from the lunch menu and got the tumeric chicken, with steamed vegetables and paid extra $7 to substitute for a papaya salad. I asked for #2 spice level but it was not spicy at all. Other co workers said they asked for medium but it was way too spicy. So it looks like their spicy levels are inconsistent. I'm not sure how this restaurant can justify the prices with the quality they are serving. Probably won't be back. Service was mediocre. Didn't offer to refill our waters. The rice was piping hot and the mangos were sweet and soft, drizzled with a generous serving of sweet coconut milk. Personally, the rice was a bit too soft for me and the coconut milk was a tad too sweet, but it still scratched the itch I had for mango sticky rice. I went close to closing so the staff could only offer me takeout, which was fine. They were friendly both over the phone and in-person when I picked up my order. I'm only dinging it a point because of its high(er) price point. I would be down to go back again to try out their entrees next time though!

I felt like I came to eat and my mom's house. They take Debit Card and Apple Pay WITH a pin only. I forgot my wallet and paid with Apple Pay. It did not have a place for tip which made me feel awful. At the end I apologized and she was like "it's ok, next time." And she was genuinely fine with it. She reassured me not to worry about it. So I'm determined to come back to tip her because if anybody deserved a tip it was her. I ordered Pad Thai with tofu- I like to order peanut sauce on the side and the woman found it interesting and struck a non judgmental conversion about it. I could really tell she was genuinely curious. This was my favorite dish. It was good. I also ordered spicy fried rice with tofu and spicy panang curry with vegetables. I chose 4 out of a 6 for spicy and it was not spicy at all for me. The rice was fine, nothing extraordinary and nothing bad. The panang curry was yummy. I don't know if it's regional but it was very light in taste and light in thickness. BUT I enjoyed it for what it was. Felt like I had gotten home made chicken soup or something like that comforting and not overly processed. Maybe it's because I ordered it with no protein and just vegetables. I ordered a lot of food so I explained to her that I was going to eat some and take the rest to go. When she brought the food she brought it nicely packed without a bag. She also brought me a real plate and utensils to eat here. She let me know that when I was ready she'd bring a bag which I thought was thoughtful. She also made sure to say "take your time, no need to rush. We close at 8" and it was 5pm. Again, it felt genuinely nurturing, she wanted to make sure I felt taken care of and welcomed. It meant a lot because I was frazzled from forgetting my wallet and from having a hard day at work. This was my first time here and it won't be my last. There is a small lot on site. Prices were very reasonable.

I can't believe it's been 12 years--and I'm so happy to say it was every bit as incredible as I remembered. My friend and I came for lunch. I ordered the vegetable pho, and she had the curry rice. Both dishes were absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, comforting, and beautifully prepared. Honestly, I wish we had more time because we had another appointment downtown. I would have loved to try more dishes and definitely dessert! Our server was wonderful--friendly, attentive, and incredibly professional. He checked on us at just the right moments without ever feeling intrusive. The service was as impressive as the food. The restaurant has such a warm, relaxing atmosphere. I especially loved the beautiful ceramic water cups with bird designs--they were so unique and charming. Even the water tasted wonderful! I'm thrilled that Au Lac is still thriving after all these years. If anything, the food tasted even better than I remembered. I certainly won't wait another 12 years before coming back. In fact, I was so impressed that I convinced my husband to come with me next Saturday for dinner! I've tried many vegan restaurants over the years, and Au Lac remains my absolute favorite. My favorite on the Westside is Variable Café, but if you're willing to drive a little farther, Au Lac is on another level. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. Whether you're vegan or not, this place is truly outstanding. Five stars without hesitation!

The Asian gentleman with a crew cut/short hair was the rudest waiter I've ever experienced. My friend and I got there at 12:30PM before a show at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on Sunday at 2 PM- it took 20 minutes for them to take our order. We let them know that we had a show to go to and to just bring the food as it was ready. It took 45 minutes for our first dish to arrive. INSANE, WHEN THE RESTAURANT WAS EMPTY AND DEAD. Then we heard the Asian waiter telling off the other table next to us who was also going to the same show at Walt Disney Concert Hall. They came earlier than us, ordered first and still didn't even get their dishes before us. They told him to take it off the bill if the food didn't come in time since they didn't have time to eat it. I was shocked to hear the rude waiter telling that table "You should have told us that you were going to a show and that you were in a hurry".. WTF, like in this economy- we're paying to go to a sit-down restaurant to get treated like garbage??? My friend and I barely had time to eat and we took our leftovers. This was the first time I tipped 15% in YEARS and I wish I tipped nothing. We asked for bags since they just gave us boxes and then as we left He had the AUDACITY TO SAY "JUST SO YOU KNOW, WE'RE NOT A FAST PACED CASUAL RESTAURANT" IT'S INSANE THAT YOU GUYS CANT EVEN DO LUNCH ON AN EMPTY SUNDAY WITHIN 2 HOURS. Go here, if you have nothing to do and want to get treated like garbage. I will never go here ever again. Maybe they just get business since this is the only vegan option in the area. Thank you for ruining a lovely Sunday afternoon because we couldn't even enjoy the show, all I could remember was how rude and smug that Asian waiter was. Please close this business. I'm shocked that Gordon Ramsay didn't show up to say that he was shooting this place for Kitchen Nightmares.
