Everything was delicious, especially the curries. The yellow curry sauce that came with the Roti was really tasty; and the green curry with the chicken was also exquisite. The two noodles were excellent. Portions were good and the ingredients were fresh and generous. The prawns in the Pad Thai were plump, fresh, and plentiful. Prices were reasonable. Pineapple. Fried. Rice. I would just leave this comment because it was the definite star of the show for me!! My sugar sugar and I were looking for a place to have lunch with our daughter and saw this out the corner of our eyes. We pass it all the time but never thought to stop. One thing I love is some good Thai food. I'm from Long Beach and we're know for Thai food! So I have high expectations!!! Spring rolls were delicious with the right amount of crunch but the sauce. The sauce. The sauce. Yummers! Almost licked the plate! Yellow curry with tofu was heavenly. The right amount of heat, flavor and veggies. I loved the potatoes and carrots and the baby did too! But the show stopper for me was the pineapple fried rice. Who would have thought cashews and raisins in some rice would taste so good!!!! It was cooked perfectly!!! Right amount of curry and veggies. I liked it. Came in for dinner with a friend. Clean and simple interior with a few tables for seating. The food is good. The menu has the expected Thai classics. We got the papaya salad, cream shrimp fried rice, and the crying tiger. We asked for medium spicy on the salad and rice, but it was still a little lighter for our taste so we still added some chili paste and peppers. The crying tiger was nice and tender. I wish restaurants would stop changing recipes to be more palatable for a demographic of people who don't want to actually experience the real flavors of ethnic food. I ordered a lunch special from DoorDash, and I had really high hopes for this place! I ordered the pad thai (Thai spicy level) with 2 veggie rolls. I can appreciate that the Thai spicy spice level was hot enough, but I would not call it Thai spicy. I broke a sweat at my desk eating my lunch, but the heat quickly dissipated. However, the pad thai itself was very bland and flavorless. I felt like it was lacking fish sauce or something, it wasn't very memorable. The veggie rolls were ok, but also lacked seasoning. Is this the best Thai food I've ever had? Probably not. But is it convenient, consistent, and the best I've found in the area? Absolutely. Obviously there are a TON of Thai food restaurants on this strip of Venice Blvd between here and Culver City, but BKK101 is my favorite. Everything from the appetizers to the noodles to the curries are always delicious, with a lot of flavor and the right amount of spice. Some Thai places are strictly takeout, but this one has a nice dining room too that you can sit in. And the service is always quick, whether you're eating there or getting it delivered. Like sometimes it's concerning how quickly and cheaply they can deliver to me. This place is doing it right! And I'd recommend any of the curries, the classic Pad Thai, and Tom Kah soup (for cold or rainy days). read more

Out of the plethora of Thai options in Los Angeles (Especially in the culver City/Palms area), I wasn't too impressed with this one. Much suited better taking a walk down Venice for other THai options. I asked the server which she likes better TOm Ka soup or the Tom Yum. She told me Tom Ka. I went for her recommendation. Don't know if she heard me, but I was served Tom Yum soup instead. So either there was a miscommunication, or rude. Who Knows. Either way, the Tom Yum soup really was heavily flavored with the coconut milk, and less of the other flavors. It was way too rich and the broth had a greasy orange consistency permeated throughout. The orange droplets were elemental of the Ka soup. Which probably means they stirred the pot with a single spoon inadvertently mixing some of the plumes into each other. read more

This is a small Thai restaurant near downtown Culver City. I got Bangkok rolls with a side of duck meat. They were so good eaten together. I especially loved the sweet dressing underneath the rolls. Neither of them was spicy and that's how I preferred. My mom got beef larb. She had the level 1 spicy and it was very spicy (for her and definitely me). Overall this dish was okay. Not as savory as the Bangkok rolls with duck. We dined in and the service was good. Though they took a little longer to serve our food. Kinda reasonable as our food have nice presentations and were both well made! I recommend this place if you want smaller portions (while reasonably priced). read more

Came with a group of 7 ~6:30 PM on a Saturday, we were able to be seated immediately. Location: Located in a small strip mall, there was free parking. Ambiance: Very cozy interior with warm lighting. Great vibes for a group dinner. Food: Tom Yum soup was delicious and the large size yielded 7 small bowls. The amber curry was on the runny side, more like soup with chicken, potatoes, and carrots. Finally found a good Thai place that delivers! The Jade Curry was fresh and flavorful. Ordered mild and it had just the perfect kick. The pad CU was good, but the beef was a little tough. Would probably get a different protein next time. Fried rice was good and the brown rice that came with the curry was not just your regular gross brown rice. Everything here was so perfect and delicious! The restaurant itself also feels very cozy with nice little touches to emphasize that it's "Mom's Kitchen" and all of their ties to Thailand. One of my favorite Thai places in West LA! Their curries have excellent flavor, and I *love* their tom yum soup. I've found very few places that offer small portions of the tom yum, so I really appreciate getting this as an app whenever I dine in or grab take-out! My only gripe here is consistency. On a few occasions, I've found the yellow curry (my go-to) to be quite watered down. That said, flavor is always good. I ordered it spicy which spoke very true! If you are spice averse, order mild. There is a good amount of veggies to liquid ratio. The curry sauce is a little runny but not watery so it holds a good amount of flavor. The rice tasted as if it was precooked as it was slightly sticky. Their menu is more expansive than the others and they have a great lunch menu with combos that are an excellent value. The food here is made with care and the servers are very friendly whether you're dining in or taking out. I appreciate that they have items that I usually have to venture out to Thai Town for, like roasted duck noodle soup and boat noodles vs. the usual Thai menus with stir-fried noodles and curries. That said, it wasn't my favorite duck noodle soup, compared to Pa-Ord, but I still appreciate that they have it here. Pretty decent Thai spot in the west LA/Palms area. Reasonably priced and not super busy with good service. Thai Boom used to be the spot back in the day, but this place has them beat. After trying the Pad Thai, I was already craving it again the next day. Flavor was good, and the rice noodles were a perfectly chewy al dente texture, which is pretty rare to find. Generous portions as well. The soft shell crab curry was unique and was not bad, but I probably wouldn't get it again. It didn't really taste like curry. More like a Japanese Oyakodon. It was saucy and mixed with egg and onion. The soft shell crab just tasted like fried soy sauce. The 101 noodle could be described as similar to a fishball and fishcake pho. Straight up comfort food. The soup was light, noodles al dente, but not a super stand-out. Check in for a free Thai iced tea! Pretty tasty and not overly sweet. On a Tuesday night, they were not busy at all. Meh...I was disappointed. I came here because of the roti. 6 months ago there was an option for a small $6 or large for $10. They took it out and now it's $10. Looking at the portion made me regret ordering it. It wasn't worth it. If $10 for such a small portion, I wonder how did the $6 looked like. I've wanted to retry this place for a long time But because I drive the opposite way home never went. Finally decided to Door Dash it and what a mistake. I ordered $60 worth of food and only 1/3 was edible. The Crying Tiger steak lived up to its name because I was frying that it was so bad. It taste chewy and unseasoned. I asked for not spicy but it should still have some seasoning. Next was the pineapple rice. The rice was super thick and sticky but the portion was large. Lastly I ordered the KaPow lunch. I was coming down the 405 freeway heading north towards Westwood and I got a hankering for some Thai food so I hopped off at national took a quick right turn on Venice and pulled into this restaurant. I ordered to go but came behind a huge $300 order. They were nice enough to let me take the soup I ordered for my daughter and come back and get the rest. Just as they promised it was waiting for me and ready and boy was delicious when I got home. Their advertisement says they cook Thai food like your mom does. This locations feels a little more "informal" than other normal restaurants. They're cooks/server? Scattered out on the tables and using their phones. I didn't mind as i understood there was no one else but me there. The bathroom was very clean. Food: I ordered the Lunch special Pad See Ew. I am not a expert in Thai food and don't have much experience with it but it was good. No complains. Tasted like many other locations. The noodle items do not come with rice, so i ordered a side of rice. I am very happy that the side of rice was cheap, I've seen other places that charge so much for it. The one thing that i must say about the food is, i can agree with HEAVY amount of MSG and salt. I am not sensitive to it but i can tell when it's too much.
