I've visited The Tavern twice now, most recently this past weekend. Each visit, the bartenders have been great and super friendly. If you want a fun bar that makes great drinks, definitely check this place out! The bar is located in a cool old building right in Old Market along 10th Street. They have a great specialty drink list on the wall, which seems to change periodically. I've always enjoyed the drinks I've ordered. In addition to their mixed drinks, they also have beers on tap if that's more your thing. The Tavern can be busy, especially on Saturday nights, though has plenty of tables, bar seating, and taller tables to stand at. Other nights are quieter, which are perfect for enjoying the board and card games they have with friends! Periodically they also have events, which are a lot of fun. I recently went to a Halloween themed party, which had a small cover, though included cute party favors like witches hats and fun glasses! They also had a DJ which was a lot of fun. If you're looking for a fun night out in the Old Market area, definitely check this place out!

Visiting and this was one of my favorite places I grabbed a drink at. David was great to talk with, English Garden Marg (double tall) was amazing. Music being a smidge lower would've been nice to hear better, but overall great atmosphere, great drinks, awesome service

The lights hanging from this beautiful old building are a disgrace.

Good beer and good cocktails. Absolutely nothing to say about the service... Well maybe that it was polite but as standard as standard can get.

Visiting my brother from San Diego, CA. Told me this bar was his favorite spot so he brought me here. Really disappointed in the customer service by this girl in pic. Sat down in front of her to order a drink (the bar was not busy). She helped an African American lady with a red coat that was next to us first. After helping her I figured "okay cool we next" NOPE! She skipped us and helped the next mother fucker. Keep in mind the bar is not busy!! Then she comes back again to our side , we are still sitting on the same spot with card out in her face, and she SKIPPED us again! Not sure wtf was her deal but she kept doing that for 25 min until I had to walk out before I popped off on her. Something my brother did not want me to do. Finally she decides to start a conversation with my brothers friend once she sees us leaving, again everything about her was very disrespectful to me and that type of attitude is considered rude on the west coast so I was not having it. Brother was so sad it was truly disappointing. So if you are visiting Omaha stay away from here, you're treated nicer at country bars like bush washers tbh .

    Creative bartender. Christina is excellent!!!

Friendly neighborhood bar. Upbeat atmosphere. Delicious cocktails served in fun and interesting glassware. Outdoor seating was relaxed.

Great cocktails, cool atmosphere. Good beer selection as well. Right in the old market with a nice patio. Board games too!

Off of 10th Street and in the southern fringes of the Old Market, this gem's focus is gin (a gin gem if you will).

We had potato skins with cheddar and bacon as an appetizer. It was tasty but not wonderful. Bookguy had fish and chips. The fish was great, very crispy and light. It was a big portion so leftovers provided dinner later. The fries were a generous size and good too. I had a patty melt on rye with a salad. The salad was pretty standard and I really liked the patty melt-- big enough to take half home and not greasy. It was rather noisy while we were there and they probably could have used another server. We enjoyed our lunch and plan to come back again.

I went with the fish and chips and was blown away by this portion size and flavor! Two HUGE cod filets accompanied by a side of fries, but I went with the onion rings as I heard they were delicious. The cod has a thick, crunchy breading around it, making it very very filling. The onion rings were very unique. Not a long onion deep fried, but small onion pieces within the breading. I've never had something like that before, but they were golden brown and amazingly crunchy. Make sure you get extra tartar sauce for this dish because you're going to need it! Service was quick and easy for a take out order. I would come back for another meal to try their other menu options and drinks. Thanks for a great first impression!

I came for the Detroit-style pizza, easily the most underrated pizza style there is. If you know, you know. I ordered The Cadillac: cream cheese, cherry peppers, hot honey. On paper, it's chaos. In practice? A beautifully thought-out balance of sweet and spicy. Rich without being heavy, heat without going overboard. Someone in that kitchen gets it. And for a moment, it's flirting with greatness. Almost a perfectly executed Detroit pie... until the crust. That signature Detroit crisp--the caramelized, fried-edge crunch--is just a little undercooked. Not bad, but quickly soggy. Just missing that final snap that makes this style elite. Still, credit where it's due. This is a valiant effort, and not an easy style to pull off outside its home turf. I see you, Omaha. You're closer than you think!
