What a great place to have Father's Day dinner. I drove by this location and people were already in line waiting. The doors open at 12 PM. They took us to the second level and we found a perfect booth for two. This wonderful waitress came by and asked what we want to drink. And that came out in about five minutes. About eight minutes later the waiter and asked what we wanted. Took our order. It was delivered in about 15 minutes. The food was hot. The plate looked amazing. The ambience of this location is simple still very clean great lighting. The boost could need a little repair, they came by and asked if we were doing OK. Check up on our drinks and they were delivered with such pure. I was taken back with such joy. People were piling in this restaurant, and the drinks came out. The salads came out, and the soups came out looking beautiful in a very short time. The kitchen must've been really getting ready for this amazing Father's Day celebration. Tenderloin is legendary. Some people may disagree, but I came here about a month ago and it was phenomenal. I have come here several times now. I had the ribeye with baked potato with all the fixings and it was beyond!!! My meal also came with a side salad or soup and I chose soup. I'm not a big fan of broccoli and cheese soup, but it was sooooooo good! It came out piping hot. My meal was a 10/10. The service/staff were so kind and sweet. It is comfort food for me. If you live in our area, then you probably know that that the local steer'n'stein steakhouse shot down recently and a little bit early. The food was amazingly close to steer'n'stein's. Great steak at a good price. The service is good and I have never had an empty cup. The interior reminds me of a 90's old style steak house. Food and menu is identical to a steak place in OC called Steer Inn that is closed now but I used to eat at a lot when I worked out that way. I wanted to like this place more. I thought it could be a more inexpensive place to grab a steak, a burger, or maybe some seafood. But the prices were not all that competitive and the quality of food isn't super appetizing. It was passable. Admittedly, it's kind of unfair to judge a steak place on something other than their steak. But with all their cuts being above $23 except their most meager offering, it just didn't appeal to me. Clam strips, however, is something I always welcome on any menu. More than fish n' chips or shrimp n' chips, there's something about a clam strip entree that hits the spot most time. This was not that time. The strips while sizable were a bit over-fried, being more crunchy than firm. I could barely taste the clams beneath all the crumbly breading. I can forgive maybe being overcooked if the clam portions were present, but it just didn't taste like they used much clam at all. The salad and baked potato were fine, but they weren't really what I came for. The space was good--with a lot of booths and tables for all size of parties. It felt very welcoming and home-like. On the other hand, the service left a lot to be desired. It started alright. But as the dinner wore on, the server seemed to be less attentive, especially when I indicated there would be no dessert. This culminated in me asking for a to go container and it being forgotten for almost a ten minute period as she passed my table repeatedly. I don't think it was mean-spirited, but I've seen this kind of behavior before where it's stated the table probably would not be placing any further orders and the service stops caring what happens to it aside from getting the bill. Obviously, I don't care for it. I think The Tenderloin has a lot going for it, but for me for now it's a bit over-priced, under-served, and underwhelming place to get a meal. read more

This place has been here since I was a kid, and I'm in my 40s. I'd never been there, but looking for a place to celebrate my wedding anniversary and my husband's new job, he said he wanted a steakhouse. So after considering our options we chose The Tenderloin When you walk in, it's like being transported to the 90s. The vibe is very retro. They have Pomona Queen on tap, automatic points. They asked if we wanted the mug of beer or the big mug and we said BIG MUG PLEASE. Ladies and gentlemen, this was a full maß of beer. Reminiscent of our days in Germany, this is literally a liter of beer. One of my kiddos ordered strawberry lemonade, and I was pleased to see it was REAL lemonade, not the fake stuff from the soda fountain. It was Friday so we got the clam chowder... omg. amazing. Even the Mozzerella sticks, the batter on them... these were not store bought, frozen Mozzerella sticks, these were def hand battered. So good. My eldest got the Mac and chee, and it was def Kraft Mac and chee, which normally pisses me off, BUT it was like $7, and she likes it, $7 for the whole meal, that's fair. My youngest got cheese pizza and she said it was super tasty. Now for the kicker. My husband ordered the bacon wrapped filet mignon, and shrimp. He said it was the best steak he's had in recent memory. He ordered it rare, and it came rare, which is rare. I had a bit and HOLY SHIT FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS, that was one flavorful piece of meat. I got the chicken fried steak and was kinda disappointed but that's on me. My heart wasn't in it. It had a brown chicken gravy on it, but I was expecting a white country gravy. I have been wanting to eat here for some time now. I finally made it, and I will say that I very disappointed! The service was great, and the ambiance was pretty cool. In the end, to me, it is all about the damn food! Now, I know I tried one dish; I would like to come back and try other dishes to rewrite my review. Nevertheless, I had the prime rib, and it was just plain awful. Unless they do something about it, I will never try that again. It was a waste of my money. Went there for lunch with friends. The restaurant is in a strip mall and has a country theme. It wasn't busy and we were greeted upon entering. The menu is very diversified with a lot of meat items to choose from. I ordered the New York steak with baked potato and passed on the soup or salad. What arrived was not a New York but a very flat, maybe 1/2 mm thick piece of meat. This should not be advertised as a New York steak. The Tenderloin is funny to me because it's literally located in a strip mall. Not as a stand alone establishment, but as a neighbor to Stater Brothers. It was even more magical when I stumbled into a well seasoned, wood paneled restaurant with its very own bar. This is the type of relic you'd only find in the suburbs and I'm absolutely here for it. My friend and I shared "The Sampler" ($15.99). It comes mostly with giant fried zucchini sticks, onion rings, and 2 potato skins. I do wish it came with mozzarella sticks or anything of that sort, but that's for another time and place. This was good, but definitely not what I was expecting in an appetizer sampler. I found the zucchini to be too hefty and therefore way too vegetable-y for my preference. All entrees come with a pretty generous garden salad (or soup). I loved that the salad was doused in homemade ranch dressing. It's the kind that is a tad watery and gets to all the nooks and crannies of the lettuce. For my entree, I opted for the specialty steak (sirloin). It comes with garlic bread and a loaded baked potato for $19.99! What a steal! I found my steak to be a little chewy, but to be honest, I didn't mind because it satiated my hankering for steak. The garlic bread and baked potato were great. Service was quick and friendly. I ordered the bacon wrapped petite filet Mignon, medium rare but was unsure about the bacon. Boy, was I wrong! It was delicious! So glad I made that choice. It was juicy and so many flavors with every bite: I didn't even use A-1 sauce. Didn't have to. The starter salad was good. The baked potato was good, but tasted like a normal baked potato. Tenderloin is in the strip mall next door to the also nostalgic 1990's Regal Edwards theaters. Inside it's clean and has some southwest decor and the menu is pretty simple: steak, steak, some chicken. I ordered the steak sandwich, medium rare and it came out great. I was pleasantly surprised it came with a small side of apple sauce/slices. We had a party of around 20 and I was concerned it would take a while for everyone's orders to come out, but it actually came out pretty fast.
