I use to love love love TTB...but lately their service has really gone down the drain. My friend and I dropped in on a thursday night. There were two workers...and maybe 4 of us waiting outside in line? Both workers were assisting one customer with her whole face threading...and seriously, spent a lifetime on her. Not working diligently to remove all the unwanted hair..but just laughing...and joking around and ignoring their other customers who were waiting 30min+. Needless to say we bounce and drove over to Ziba's (in westside pavilion) instead. More expensive but at least the service was on point. This was my go to place in college and I'm so disappointed. *on another note, they're really note sanitary here. For some reasons, the reason around my eyebrows ALWAYS break out after my visit. Other places that I go to never leave me with this issue... probably wont consider coming back anymore. read more

The place was surprisingly small and the bulding it was in was run down so I was a little apprehensive, Non-Persian/Indian did my brows so that didn't help my nerves at all. But the black young lady that did my eyebrows did an exceptionally escellent job! And for $7, it's cheap! The shape is great! If I only had thicker hair I would totally fall in love with my new eyebrow shape. The girl took her time cleaning one small section at a time. She let me check one eyebrow when it was done too before moving on to the other brow. She could tell when I wasn't completely happy and was able to suggest a happy alternative. So amazing. I had a half hour to kill before going to my tutoring client's house, and my eyebrows were looking a bit too old school Brooke Shields for my own good, so I looked up area threading and found this joint. Put some money in the meter, waited for about twenty min (it was a Saturday, only 2 people working, but didn't take too long) and then zip zap, clean and naturally shaped brows in under five minutes! It's lasted too, and only cost SEVEN bucks! (I tipped up to ten, just because anywhere else, ten would be the minimum, right?) A good brow shaping clears up your face, but there's no need to drain the wallet, and these folks know how to roll. Now I'm just bummed that it's far from my home! Sigh. (Oh just a side note... where ever you go, don't let brow people convince you to wax or thread your lip unless you know you want it! I've got very fair face hair so it's not really necessary, but have succumbed to peer pressure a few times only to find my sensitive skin TOTALLY breaking out in weird tiny lip zits! UNCOOL. This was my first time doing my eye brows and it was so fun! Well, it was really painful at the beginning.. but it was all worth it at the end. I never knew it could feel like that.. I have been coming here for years now since they opened their doors. I used to go to vinitas but was getting so over it so once this place opened, I decided to give it a try. Thread bar is on a walk in basis, first come first serve. They are usually very fast and effective. The ambiance and the room has a very cool vibe. Aida, is the owner and usually always there. She's very nice and friendly and a pro at what she does. She also does a really good job at hiring her girls because they all do a really good job!! I have been doing my eyebrows with Courtney, and when she's not there, Aida is usually my go to person. They also give you a punch card, so your 10th(I think) eyebrow will be free. They close at 7, but make sure to be there by 6:30! Also, cash only!! read more

I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for years and when my go-to eyebrow threading place (Ziba Beauty at west side pavilion) unexpectedly closed down, I panicked and chose this location because of its good reviews. Personally, this location was hard to find. It's on the second floor of a plaza with a small almost hidden entrance, and initially I could not find it because the owner had not put out the sign yet. (It's beside Brandy Melville) She did say she usually has it out so maybe it's just this one time. Now as far as the threading, I got my eyebrows and lips done for $18. Kinda pricey, but I didn't mind too much. The owner Aida did my brows and I can't say I love them. I understand that she's been doing this for years but she did not even ask me what I wanted or tried to check in with me during the process. She only asked if I liked it at the end and at that point it's a lost cause you can't regrow hair that's been threaded off. She swore it was the shape that fit my face but I did not like it at all. It was as if she knew better than me and that might be the case professionally but if I'm the customer and I prefer it a certain way I feel like I should be listened to. She also didn't get all of my upper lip hairs-it was as if she was rushing. But if she were that busy maybe she shouldn't take in customers because they come out a little upset like I did. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. After being her client for years, I was late to my appointment once because of a family matter that came up. She texted me in such a rude tone. I apologized many times, explained to her what had come up and told her I would appreciate it if she could still see me but if she is busy I completely understand. She said it was ok and I could go. Once I showed up she only had one client there. She humiliated me giving me a lecture on time management. And I continued to apologize. But she would not let it go. Once I sat on the chair for her to do my brows she continued and said "I have a question for you. Are you mad at me for being late?" I honestly lost count on how many times I apologized to her and she still would not let it go. You can either see me or you can't. It's a 5 minute job. Not like this was a pattern for me I had always been on time. I still can't fathom her level of unprofessionalism. Also, she never sanitizes hands between clients and gave me attitude every time I reached for the hand sanitizer. Not Covid friendly at all. It was my first time at The Thread Bar today and my experience went so well. The guy, Saraud (spelling?) helped me. It's located between California Pizza Kitchen and Brandy Melville, all the way up the stairs. The shop was small but esthetically nice and with good music. I came to get my lip ($5) and chin ($6) threaded. I've never gotten my chin threaded before but I am so pleased with the results. Saraud did an excellent job. He made sure I was comfortable and paid close attention to detail, making sure to remove as much hair as possible. Although I came on a slow day (because of weather) he did not rush even when 3 other customers came in. His customer service was excellent as well. He made sure the other customers were acknowledged while also focusing on providing great service to me. I will be coming back! read more

What a gem of a place! I came across The Thread Bar via Yelp after moving from Orange County to LA six months ago. My eyebrows have never looked so good before! The only downside to this place is that there is often a wait. There have never been less than three people waiting each time I have come; however, that's not necessarily a bad thing. That means that they must be good, right? There are some magazines available to help you pass the time during your wait. But I will say - the wait is definitely worth it! (and you don't need to make an appointment, which is great for spur of the moment visits) The first time I went, the woman who did my eyebrows let me know what parts I needed to grow out, which was super helpful. $9 for eyebrows, which by Westwood standards, is a pretty darn good deal. (cash only though - bear that in mind!) I will say though, the threading hurts slightly more here than at other places I've visited, but the quality is top notch, so it's well worth it. Even if this place wasn't in my exact neighborhood, I would totally drive here! Fabulous service. read more

My usual eyebrow threading spot, Vinita's, was packed on a Thursday afternoon. Not wanting to wait, I walked another block further to try The Thread Bar. It's a bit difficult to locate, because it's inside a building. You have to walk up a flight of indoor stairs and the store will be to your immediate left. I was seated the moment I walked in. The girl that did my eyebrows was quick and efficient. She didn't try to make small talk or anything, but I really didn't mind. The process was a lot faster than at Vinita's but to my pleasant surprise, she didn't miss a single eyebrow hair and was very thorough. Price for eyebrows ($9) is a dollar or two cheaper than Vinita's. This place is definitely my new go-to for when I need my brows tamed. Make sure to ask for a stamp coupon! They won't offer it to you unless you ask. read more

Beautiful new location! I've been going to thread bar since it opened. The service is great. Aida the owner, really knows eyebrows and tells you what's best for the shape of your face. She is patient and will work with any eyebrow type. I have always had a great experience with her and her staff. The new location is amazing. Free 2 hour parking across the street and plenty of places to eat and grab a drink while waiting. Her studio makes you feel as though you have escaped to an italian villa. This place is amazing! Aida is a miracle worker. I have naturally really flat eyebrows and she managed to make my flat ass asian eyebrows look like they have an arch and a shape. I went here for the first time yesterday after seeing it referenced in a Cosmopolitan article as being the #1 threading spot in LA. I don't disagree! It's so close to me in Westwood, and even tho I came in close to closing they fit me in. I can tell when a threading place knows what it's about. When I'm getting it done, instead of overwhelming pain it actually feels therapeutic and nice (I know it sounds crazy!) I ended up asking her to do my upper lip too, which, again, lot less painful than last place I went. Aida shaded my brows and we ended up chatting for like half an hour. I'm usually wary of going to other places to get my eyebrows threaded, because I'm scared they won't turn out the way I expected. However, this place gets the job done! It's only $10, which is a reasonable price here in LA. I've gotten my brows done by two different ladies here, and they've both done an exceptional job. They're both very consistent and they understand the needs of eyebrows! I don't know how else to put it, but they understood my brow shape better than I did. They don't overthread your eyebrows, which I appreciate, because that's my one fear of going to a different eyebrow thread spot. They're also very thorough in how they do your brows, and they ask you to look in the mirror to make sure they're even. They also do stamp coupons, so definitely ask for one. Was in the area and called to see if they take walk-ins. They do! Aida was sooooo fast and fixed my eyebrows (they were uneven) without making them too thin. Friendly environment and from the little I saw, they have a lot of care for their customers. Aida knew people by name and remembered their story.
