We headed right to Cocoa Beach after we landed in Orlando. We were really hungry, so we decided to try The Tiny Turtle--and we are so glad we did! Our server was so friendly, and got to our table quickly. We ordered drinks while we tried to figure out what to eat. The kids got meals from the kids menu--a pork quesadilla and a cheeseburger, both with black bean rice on the side. My husband and I shared the Sofrito Burrito with roasted island pork, and we had to try it "wet style" (with more of all the sauces on top--YUM!). Food was so flavorful and fresh! I saw the nachos going to another table, and those looked awesome, too! Glad we stopped in. HIGHY RECOMMEND!

We stumbled upon The Tiny Turtle when looking for a place to grab a late lunch after going to the Brevard Zoo and are so happy we did. It's 5 stars all around! Our server Grace and the other staff were great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The front patio is a great place to chillax with some apps and cool refreshing beverages.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a nice buffer of trees so you don't feel like you're sitting right on the sidewalk.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Sofrito bowl with Mahi Mahi was amazing. The black bean rice with the guacamole and beach slaw worked so well together. Topping it with perfectly cooked Mahi completely put it over the top. I loved the way all the flavors complimented each other. The chicken and cheese empanadas were freshly cooked and tasted great. We can't wait to go back!

Small carribean inspired spot. I stopped in on a Monday during lunch hours in the off season. It was slow so the food arrived to my table quickly. I ordered a small sofrito nacho plate with mahi mahi. It had a hint of spice but was mostly covered in wet sauces. I love condiments & I love a saucy dish but it was a bit much with salsa, guacamole, sour cream & some type of house sauce. It all kind of overpowered the meal. It didn't really hit the spot for me. Menu is intentionally small and somewhat the same dish served in different ways; burrito, salad, bowl, nachos, etc. Service was great! Very friendly and welcoming.

They even played music from one of my favorite bands- Stick Figure.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The CB punch drink was so tasty and delicious , it's a blend of the perfect amounts of rum and juices. Pros: Ambiance is very cool. Very beachy, semi-tiki, mellow and chill. There's a nice outdoor patio dining room that we sat in, covered to keep the sun out. Service was pretty good. Our server was nice enough, and the food came out in no time. No concerns there. As for the food, it was simple, but delicious. Who knew that adding some Island seasoning to some basic dishes can really make them pop? Cons: The server, who struck me as a manager, didn't have a good working knowledge of the drink menu at all, but we made due. Tips: Get the nachos, and get the catch of the day on them. If you've never had fish nachos before, you will love them. Also, get the burrito if you like burritos. Some breakfast burritos fall kind of flat and are disappointing, but these were gooood.

We came here one day while we were exploring the Space Coast a little bit. We have a buddy who lives out there, so we parked by his condo and walked over here to the Tiny Turtle. We chose the Turtle because it landed on the best places to eat in the US in 2024, which is a pretty prestigious list, so we were pretty excited. Ambiance was sooo chill. It's right next door to the best ice cream on the coast, the Fat Donkey. Thatched roof, tiki stuff, lots of outdoor seating. Nice vibes. Service was prompt and mostly the same: chill, beachy, islandy. Very nice lady. She struck me as the owner, or at least management. As for the food, we opened up with an appetizer. We got the nachos and for the protein, we chose the catch of the day, I think it was mahi that day. No one I was with had had fish nachos before, but they quickly became fans. The fish flaked well, and there were plentiful toppings that were layered well. It was also not a very large dish, so you didn't have to ration your protein too much. You could just eat and enjoy. I moved on to my main entrée, the Triple T Toastie (Scrambled eggs, white American cheese, shredded cheese, potato sticks, and Creme Caribe pressed in Sobao bread. Choice of veggies, bacon, sausage or ham. - Upgrade to all 3 meats). Of course I upgraded to all three meats. Very good sandwich. Excellent, quality fillings, bread that was pressed hard and delicious, and it was large enough to contain all the fillings and not be leaking out and falling out everywhere. A well crafted sandwich, paired well with the potato sticks that added a very satisfying crunch. I also got to eat half of a Wake up Burrito Scrambled eggs, potato hash, Queso Caribe, guacamole, sour cream, roasted tomatillo sauce, and Creme Caribe. Choice of bacon, sausage, chorizo, ham, Roasted Island Pork). Very good burrito, stuffed to the brim, and able to be picked up by hand, which was good, I don't like knife and fork breakfast burritos. Overall, this was a super chill, super cozy little place that can offer you a delicious breakfast before you head out to get your beach on. Or where you can send a runner to get some takeout and bring it to you while you're On the beach. Really nice. I hope to come back one day.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place had such a cool vibe and the food was delicious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. we were new in town and wanted to get a unique experience after our beach trip. We stumble into this unique gem and did not disappoint. I had the sofrito bowl with roasted island pork, I initially orders the small size and regretted thinking I should've gone for the bigger size but the small was more than enough. The rest of my party ordered the sofrito burrito and they were all very impressed.

Holy crap this place has such big portions, but I am loving it! My husband and I ordered the sofrito bowl and cuban to split, and it was honestly so much food. We left feeling STUFFED - but it's hard to complain when the food was delicious. No regrets! The Cuban had a lot of meat and soft bread, which I appreciated because I don't like my sandwich bread to be too hard and painful to eat. For the sofrito bowl, I recommend getting the plantain and coleslaw as the added sides! I will definitely be returning!

We love it here! Even with all the bar options nearby, this is our go-to. It's never overly crowded and the employees are friendly and attentive. We have loved the empanadas and I had a DELICIOUS wrap today. The plantains seemed well cooked and were super good. Yum!

A Hidden Gem with Caribbean Flavor! We've been to Cocoa Beach many times and somehow never heard of Tiny Turtle--but now we'll never forget it. A few locals recommended it to us on separate occasions, so we finally checked it out--and we're so glad we did! The food was excellent--we had the Tripleta sandwich and the cheesesteak, both absolutely mouthwatering. The bread was soft and fresh, and the flavors were spot on. The menu has a Latin-Caribbean flair, thanks to the Puerto Rican chef, and it really shows in the seasoning and creativity. Service was great--Murphy took care of us and made the experience even better. The beers were ice cold, and we were excited to see Medalla, a local Puerto Rican beer, on the menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was quiet when we arrived--so quiet we almost left--but we came between lunch and dinner, so we get it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Still, this place deserves to be packed. We've learned they've been around for about 12 years, and now we'll be recommending them just like the locals did with us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Don't miss this spot. This is my second review one year later and the food is just as good. We've never eaten inside the restaurant as we always get it to go but the inside is a cool vibe with the bar room separate from the dining area. They have local art for sale as well as some merch and souvenirs. We called for pickup right at the transition from breakfast to lunch so our order took about 30 minutes from call to out the door. We will be back again to try the breakfast burrito, but this time got a pork and a chicken Sofrito burrito. They're so good every time. I really hope this place stays in business!

AMAZING food & AMAZING staff! Thank you!!!! Our first time trying Puerto Rican food & it was so so amazing! I highly recommend the plantain chips (obsessed dipping it in the guacamole & queso), the chip dip trio, & their grilled chicken skewers(pinchos)! I had the sofrito bowl (size small) with grilled shrimp (so delicious & sweet!), my husband had the tripleta sandwich & my daughter had the kids cheeseburger. My family has been coming here for breakfast every time I'm in town. The restaurant has a great back patio space complete with big connect 4 and dog bowls and little treats. The breakfast menu is delicious, my favorite being the wake up burrito with carnitas, wet style. It's one of my favorite breakfast meals ever, so I look forward to returning every time I'm in Cocoa beach! read more

The food in general was good. But but all was not great. While I was waiting for carry out order I saw a pics of pie delivered that had great presentation! I got back to our resort with ours and nothing....,I mean nothing! A little slice that looked sickly! The filling tasted good but this is not the first time in cocoa beach that I feel of you get carry out..... screw you! The employees have to know that what the put for carry out sucks versus dining in. But they still want a tip on carry out! What are they thinking?!? We would eat there again if they had only treated us like dine in! I am finding more and more places at cocoa beach that are like this! Wake up!!! read more

This was our first stop on a weekend away at Cocoa, and what a stop it was. We happened to come in during their slow times, and any time we needed anything, or almost needed anything, we had a server checking on us. It was slightly overwhelming, but understandable. For our starters, we had a couple Coquitos and a Chicken Quesadilla. They were some of the best Coquito and the best Quesadilla I've ever eaten. It was a struggle to not order another round, but then our entrees arrived. I had the Sofrito Burrito, which was so delicious it took me back to my trip to Honduras nearly 20 years ago. It was perfect, and I wouldn't have changed a thing about it. I'm sure the leftovers are going to heat up well tonight or tomorrow, or whenever I get to them. I tried my companion's Caribbean Dog, and while it was very good, there was something keeping it from being in the same class as the burrito. I don't think I'd have regretted getting the Dog if I didn't know how good the burrito was going to be, but comparing the two, it just isn't fair. My only real complaint would be that the chips and salsa were entirely forgettable. The former lacked any sort of seasoning to set it apart from a bag you could get at Publix, and the latter... Sort of the same. I liked how chunky and chopped it was, but it wasn't anything special. Still an easy 5/5 from me, I'll just go for a different side next time. read more

This was always on my list to dine, but we had to go there a night early (Valentine's Day) as the first spot would have had us wait 90 minutes and no place is worth that. This food is wowie wow good. The pork they serve is the stuff dreams are made of. The waitresses...all of them are down to earth, genuinely wonderful people. We just went with what was recommended and were not at all disappointed. The atmosphere is incredible as well. I loved all the tiki stuff. Was it hooky? Maybe, but I love corny so bring it on!!! This is one place you absolutely must dine at and I assure you, your stomach will thank you for doing it!!! read more

We came here for breakfast today and the food/service was amazing! I had the breakfast chorizo burrito and it was delicious. The chorizo itself was good, but the combination of guac and sauces, eggs, and potatoes... made it off the charts good! The boyfriend had the breakfast bowl with steak, and he also said his was delish! Definitely get here before 10:30 though, if you are trying to get their breakfast. You won't regret it! read more

The food here is amazing! We went once and did have to wait 40 minutes for food but it was worth it. The ghost pepper salsa is SPICY AND delicious. The second time we attempted to eat here we waited by the door for 10 minutes and no one seated us so we left. So if your not starving or with two little impatient hungry kiddos then wait it out. read more

The pbj sliders with coleslaw and plantain chips are a must. Didnt taste any pb but the meat was juicy, the coleslaw flavorful and that sauce is bomb. The plantain chips were crispy and yum. We also got the mahi mahi nachos which were good a ton of fish but between the two the sliders were the better choice. Staff was super friendly and it is a cute hole in the wall place you might miss. When in cocoa beach dont miss this little joint. I wish I lived here I would be here weekly. read more

EXCELLENT take-out option during COVID! We moved to the area in May, and this is the BEST take-out we've found. Very flavorful, fresh, filling...DELICIOUS! My husband and I were looking for a good lunch that we could pick up safely. We called Tiny Turtle and ordered and paid over the phone. We picked up our food 10 minutes later, and the food was brought out to the car. I got a Sofrito bowl with shrimp, with chips and salsa and the beach slaw as my sides. Literally every bite was excellent, including the sides. Great homemade sauces and salsas. My husband got the Tripleta sandwich and wolfed it down. And a plus: eco-friendly takeout containers and utensils. Wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! We will be back regularly. read more

We came to the Tiny Turtle because my 14 year old requested a breakfast burrito. Our family of four sat down immediately, as is often the case, my husband and the 14 year old started turning their nose up at everything. After a come-to-Jesus at the table they all agreed to stay and order, and boy howdy did the food shut them up. My husband ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon, no sour cream, no guac - and fortunately he agreed to the rest of the deliciousness that it comes with. My 14 year old had them remove anything unique and interesting but he said it was still delicious. The 17 year old and I ordered breakfast tacos, and they were INCREDIBLE. He had the chicken, and the Caribbean flavors were spot on, and not over powering. I had one taco with ham and the other with Island pork - both amazing. It's very cute inside with a nice Caribbean vibe. read more

I really, really wanted to love this place. . . I read excellent reviews online and the first time we tried to go, the restaurant was too packed to get in. So, I came back with my two children (10 and 12) on a Monday night. Granted, it was spring break, so I expected a bit of a wait. Unfortunately, it was MUCH more than just a bit of a wait...we were told to seat ourselves and then watched as every other table around us was greeted. We waited more than 10 minutes for a menu (which was just tossed on the table without so much as a "hello") and then another 5-10 minutes before someone actually greeted us and took our drink order. We went ahead and ordered everything all at once, explaining to our server that we were very hungry. We then waited 20 minutes for a basket of chips and salsa with guac; Unfortunately, that arrived as a basket of chips with guac and queso ... we never did get to try their salsa. To be fair, our waitress offered to take it back, but we were SO hungry by then, we just told her to leave it. We had to ask for drink refills... and I was never offered another cocktail. Speaking of drinks, my daughter accidentally spilled her lemonade and no one offered to help clean it up. I ended up soaking it up myself with cheap paper napkins and putting the mess on the empty table across from us. All in all, we waited nearly an hour and a half for 2 kids sofrito bowls and 1 small sofrito bowl with shrimp. The sofrito bowl portions were a bit small, but the food was quite tasty. Unfortunately, it still wasn't worth waiting an hour and a half with two very hungry kids. Our server never checked back to see if we liked the food and then didn't even show up to deliver our bill; another server saw me waiting with my credit car clearly displayed in my hand and took pity on us. Perhaps the most annoying part was when checking out there was only an option of leaving 15%, 20%, or 25% tip. I waited tables for years while attending college, so I'm not the type of person to leave no tip whatsoever. It would have been nice, however, to be able ti leave 10% in this situation. Pros: cute place , nice ambiance with outdoor seating, and decently tasty food with a Caribbean flair. Cons: Literally some of the worst service I have ever experienced and absolutely ridiculous wait times. I would not recommend going to this restaurant unless you aren't very hungry and don't mind waiting around and being ignored. I gave it two stars only because the food was actually pretty good. read more

Down in coco beach hanging with friends at their condo. Stopped into this restaurant for dinner. Server came and got our drink and food orders. After sitting for 10-15 minutes I ended up going to the bar and serving our own drinks. Bartender told us well it was only 12 mins. Strange response? Food came out and I would have given this restaurant a 5 plus. It was amazing! We had the shrimp bowl. Fantastic!! Everything was great but the service was very poor and unprofessional. read more

I love this restaurant, but their ToGo orders not so much :-( ... I tried to order the sofrito nachos and asked for the chips on the side because I had a 40min drive home and I didn't want all the chips to be soggy, they told me no, the cook won't put anything on the side. Then I compromised and did a sofrito bowl (no chips just rice/beans) and asked for a side of tomatillo sauce which I paid for, and they didn't include my side sauce!!! I was so looking forward to try tomatillo sauce for the first time Then I asked for a sofrito burrito for my husband and asked for the sauces on the top to be on the side so the burrito wouldn't get soggy and they said no. I don't agree with a customers inability to ask for sauces on the side when you have a decent drive to get home. Its good when you dine in but their TOGO is awful His burrito was beyond soggy and just fell apart and they didn't remember to put my sauce in that I paid for and they forgot our Togo silverware. Soffrito bowl has always got me covered when I'm too tired from work. Another huge plus? For COVID: You can do payment over the phone and pick up your food in the car from a masked server! 10/10 safety, 10/10 food. And what would you know? Your restaurant gets to stay open and no one has to redundantly shut down and take re-opening the economy x10000 slower to recover-- just by taking some simplistic precautions. Whoever runs Tiny Turtle is smart. Good on them. Pre-COVID, their outdoor area is super cute and relaxing as well. read more

We stumbled upon this cute restaurant when we parked on the way to the beach. We came with a party of 9 and took up a third of the space. I had the special for the day, salmon tacos. It was so satisfying and tasty. It left me happy. My husband got blackened fish tacos basket, that he liked. The kids got cheese quesadillas. We liked the music vibe. You can sit inside or their outside tables. It's super close to the beach, so it's convenient if you are hungry before or after catching some waves. It's next to the Cocoa Police Dept and a good ice cream shop next door that you gotta try, too. read more

In town for a matter of minutes, checked into the hotel and found the Turtle on yelp. Good call. Food fresh and tasty, service (son of the proprietor, we reckoned) personable and friendly. Wife had the quinoa/kale bowl (or something to that effect) and found it "delicious." Sonny ate his whole quesadilla (remarkable) and while it wasn't Fatty Daddy in Brooklyn, he claimed it was a very close second. I enjoyed 3 chicken tacos, generously sized, in flour tortillas with some kind of special sauce on top. Decor sort of nonexistent, a bunch of tiki idols and a few tables inside and out, but family friendly, especially with the ice cream place next door. It's nice to know you can pull into a town like Cocoa Beach and find a place like this so quickly. Wish we lived a bit closer; we'd be back in a heartbeat. read more

A wonderful Caribbean fusion restaurant right near Coco Beach. Tiny turtle will not disappoint you with island music playing, palm trees and "sand" floors, you really feel like you have stepped into a Caribbean Island. My wife had the grilled Mahi BLT which was quite nice. I had the Sofrito Bowl with tasty Puerto Rico rice, a plantain, guac and other yummy things. Eating animal-free I ordered the Sofrito Burrito with the Vegetarian filling (comprised of sautéed kale, green peppers and onions) and asked them to hold all the dairy ingredients. The person taking my order over the phone was very friendly and from the way she handled my request it was likely not a new thing for her. The burrito was delicious and massive. The rice and beans were the star of the burrito and the side of maduros were amazing as well. Technically maduros are a side but in practice they are very dessert-like. Let me start off by saying the staff and service was amazing, very friendly and extremely attentive to their tables. Now the food......sorry to say but to be called a Puertorican cuisine, let's just say it's the Puertorican name without the taste or craft. For example their tripleta sandwich is no where near what a Puertorican tripleta tastes like nor what it should have inside. I have never seen a tripleta that has what looks to be deli meat inside. Mind you, it was still pretty cold when served. The chips and salsa were also awful, the salsa was dry and chunky. The Burger Caribe was somewhat decent, except it lacked in flavor and seasoning. History

Established in 2013.

Inspired by his Grandmother's and Mother's cooking, the flavorful Sofrito base of Puerto Rico, and his own restaurant experiences, Chef Moises has created a menu and environment that will transport you to an island experience full of flavor and a laid back feeling. Opening during the famed Art Show that happens every year in Downtown Cocoa Beach as what was called Food Truck Style, being just a kitchen on the back of a building with a patio and picnic tables for seating, it has now evolved into a full service restaurant but still giving that feeling of a small local "Hidden Gem".

Meet the Business Owner: Moises y Kelly C.

Born in Puerto Rico Moises' family moved to Florida in the 80's spending the first couple years in South Florida and then relocating to Central Florida. Always having the dream of owning his own restaurant he was given the opportunity after meeting a good friend a couple years after moving to Cocoa Beach. He had spent 2 years prior to the start of The Tiny Turtle gaining knowledge and experience in the restaurant field. Each opportunity he grew into lead cook, managing the kitchen and creating new menu items. He has been surrounded by many, including his wife Kelly, that have all had a part at helping him fulfill his dream and is forever grateful for the love and support.

A quality restaurant would have expected us and had our table prepared prior to our arrival. Multiple people in our party mentioned the host's frantic demeanor. I don't blame him - it was clear the restaurant was overwhelmed, despite so many empty tables. Was the kitchen backed up? We were sat at the table and the server was very pleasant - a very nice woman. She brought out the water - tap water which smelled and tasted a little funny. I would have expected filtered or bottled water, especially when the tap water quality was poor. At this point, given the above, we decided to leave. If the experience up to this point was not up to par, we didn't want to take our chances. We've seen too many Kitchen Nightmares episodes to take the risk. Chaos in the front of house is normally correlated to chaos in the back. Hopefully the restaurant takes our constructive criticisms to heart and tries to make some improvements. When we arrived, we did notice the outside could use a little TLC, but once inside, it was very clean and tidy. We were immediately greeted by both the hostess and bartender, and they were very friendly. We were seated right away and our drink orders were taken quickly. It took us a few minutes to go through the menu since we weren't familiar with the restaurant, and there are quite a few items to choose from. We ordered the "Crack Mac Snack" (macaroni and cheese) and added pulled pork and the biscuit bread. The food came out quickly, and we were not disappointed. The biscuit bread was absolutely amazing, rich, soft, and delicious (maybe a little too generous with the butter on top, but still delicious). It's a thick, hearty piece, about two inches high and roughly four inches square. The mac and cheese was a generous portion and easily enough to share, and it was really good. The homemade BBQ sauce was also a highlight. The only slight miss was my husband's Coke, which wasn't very sweet, possibly a calibration issue with the machine. Overall, this is definitely a spot worth trying if you're in Cocoa Beach and want something different. There's a lot on the menu, and we'll definitely be back.

He LOVED it! Had fresh blackberries with a Pomegranate glaze and duck confit hash. I had the Corvina fish. It featured a pineapple salsa along with Mofongo. Amazing. Such a delicious dish. We finished with delectable desserts which we shared - Key lime pie, Chocolate Pave - so luxurious, and Lemon Blueberry Crumb Cake. What a special night we had. Unfortunately a lot of the execution fell a bit flat, especially after both the menu and it's prices had set our expectations otherwise. The amuse bouche was definitely a palate awakener.. a mix of olive tapenade and vinegary mustard. It wasn't for us, but if the goal was to wake up our mouths, it worked. Then hubs had the scallop appetizer with bacon maple marmalade. He thought it was too sweet, I didn't mind it. Scallops were cooked well. I had the mussels from Brussels, a bit clumsy to eat as the mussels were in their shells and the thin Brussel leaves were scattered within/around, all on a bed of pureed potatoes. But a nice flavor and a good portion size. Then i moved on to the beet salad, which was my least favorite. A dish I enjoy at a lot of restaurants, all with different plating/approaches, this one was clunky, the beets were cut thicker than usual, plated with large proportion dwarfing the citrus and the cheese was presented in medium size encrusted balls. It lacked elegance or delicateness, the flavors didn't really meld as they should. Hubs and I then moved to the main course. I had the crispy gnocci app as my main, which was fine, nothing special and hubs had the catch #2 a tile fish that was just ok. We finished our drinks, opted for dessert elsewhere. They've been around a long time, so I'm sure we will try again in another couple years.

I enjoyed one of their NA mocktails which was delightful (low hanging fruit was the name) and hubs enjoyed a vodka based cocktail called waste management, served in a mini trash can! We were worried it would be too sweet and Summer convinced us otherwise. Hubs said it was balanced, not too sweet, and refreshing... anything but garbage! The place is really cute inside too, and the bar had hooks underneath, so you know it's legit!

AMAZING! After a long day at the pier we wanted something healthy and filling. We were looking for Jamaican and came across The Tiny Turtle... what a brilliant find. We split the Islander Wrap and Tripleta and were in heaven!!! Whether you're a tourist or a local this is a MUST try. The food was excellent and what made it even better was the stuff, especially the lady at the register. I didn't catch her name but she was the nicest woman. My family and I have been coming here since they first opened. We absolutely love their food, service, staff and atmosphere. The Owners are one of the nicest and most generous people I know in Cocoa Beach. Their pork and mahi sofrito bowls are to die for. So delish! Taco Tuesdays are still our fave time to come! Staff wear masks and plenty of outdoor seating. we also love that they are environmentally/ocean friendly and that is so important to our family and out community! Our food here was excellent, as was the service. Truly a welcome change for an eatery so close to the beach. We were a bit skeptical but the bowls of food (sofrito) that came out soon changed our minds. Highly recommended. Very moderately priced. Recommended. Heard a lot about the sofrito so I decided to order it. I could not believe how large of a portion it was and the taste was so unique and incredible. In total my meal was $13.15 for a large sofrito bowl and a drink with unlimited refills. Going to the Tiny Turtle made a positive memory on my vacation trip. read more
