We had reservations for 2 people in a private igloo. This was our first time eating here. The waitress was excellent. The food was delicious. Our experience was awesome. The igloo has 2 tables and seating for 8. It was slightly chilly in the igloo but not cold which is great considering it's December. The music was to loud for me (blaring Christmas JAZZ music) and I didn't care for the seating set up which is why I only gave this 4 stars. It would have been a better experience if they had removed the extra tables and chairs and had a lower more enjoyable music but otherwise it was a 5 star meal and service. Allergen awareness is extremely poor, and a guest in a party was not allowed to order a certain dish from the menu because the kitchen staff did not know if there was any allergens in it. This is horribly dangerous for those with allergies. The restaurant was decorated beautifully for the holidays. There was a glass for water at one of the table settings that had a large chip in it at the top and glass in the bottom of the cup, and it was not noticed by any staff. It's five stars for the ambiance! It's an absolutely beautiful place. The service was good. The food was okay. Steak was not cooked to order and didn't have time to return as we were on a tight schedule. The people next to us have the same exact issue. Of course they would have taken it back but I hate doing that. That's on me. Nonetheless it wasn't cooked right to begin with. Prices are a bit high for portions. Overall quality of food was okay. It is a beautiful place. Great place to go sit have a drink at the bar. And the outdoor dining is great. However they do need a bit of a bigger heater in all of the outdoor seating booths in the middle of winter! A 5-in heater does not cut it LOL but it is beautiful and a great idea. This is my first time to the Tipsy Toboggan. Just moved to Fall River and heard great things. Drinks were great , the "Awful Waitress" was fruity, blue delight. Alana, our waitress, was friendly and attentive and kept our visit inviting. Shepherds Pie was delightful, and cheese pizza was 7.0. Dessert was a vanilla bean concoction and was tremendous. We traveled to Fall River mass for my husbands birthday, and I looked forever to pick the perfect restaurant and I ended up making a reservation at The Tipsy Toboggan. I studied the menu and enjoyed looking at all their wonderful pictures online. If you can't tell I was excited to go. When we got there, there is tons of parking but almost all of it was taken up, we were lucky we got a spot. Outside the restaurant looked lovely with lots of classic old world charm and fun plastic Igloos people could eat in. The place was very busy but it was a Saturday night. Check in was easy and we were promptly sat at our table. Now for the downfall. The table we were sat at was obviously an after taught table no bigger then my night stand or an end table, places directly behind the piano and Conveniently located in the bathroom line. I usually don't make a fuss but I did ask to be moved, unfortunately they did not have another table. It was very hard to sit at the table because of how small it was, so we ended up using the piano bench to put our silverware on. We order the buffalo chicken wing dip appetizer that comes in a bread bowl and comes with tortilla chips, this was OK it didn't taste bad. Well we were still in the middle of our appetizer our dinners came. As you can imagine we had nowhere to put our food, so we ended up moving our appetizer to the piano bench. It was all kind of silly, but also frustrating; it gave us a good laugh. For dinner my husband got the flat iron steak, he unfortunately didn't like it; he ordered medium but I even had to agree with him it was like chewing on a tire. I ordered the chicken and hash with waffles and that was OK. I give this place four stars not for the food and definitely not for the table, but it is a lively atmosphere and a beautiful place. It's honestly probably one of the best places in the area because there isn't many options, so I guess it's worth a try. My burger was cooked as it was ordered but was small and dry. We ordered their Apple Crisp for dessert and again extremely disappointed when it is served in a small tea cup. It started getting very cold. The temp outside was 60. We asked the waitress if she could close the window. She said she had to ask the owner. In the mean time people near by wear putting on their coats. Our coats were on already. A short time later which seemed like forever because we were freezing the waitress came back and said the owner said she could not close the window because he wanted a cto let the air circulate.My son and I looked at one another in disbelief. Due to the COVID situation you would assume some places would take customer service to the next level to stay in business and not use it as an excuse to treat their customers poorly. In this place they act like they are doing you a favor. The food is ok but service is terrible. We were there for almost an hour. I think the waitress visited our table 3 times. She didn't even know what bourbons they have. Then she came saying we had a limit of time to stay here. Like, yeah if you take our order we can get going lady... She didn't bothered to refill our water or anything like that. This was our third and probably our last time coming here due to the attitude of the manager as well, that came out of a room where he was just chilling (instead of managing the mess of service they have), yelling that he "was trying to run a restaurant". LOL. Obviously he's failing BIG time at "trying to manage" it. It's a shame because the place is cute for the town it's at, if you want to try the food you're probably better ordering to go or going somewhere else. Hopefully the owner catches up to the reviews and trains his employees to give acceptable customer service. read more

Comfortable My wife & I drove by here early afternoon yesterday (Sunday) on our way to Newport. The building caught our eye so we decided to stop in on our way back from Newport. It was a little tricky, but after a couple of tries, we were able to find the driveway into the large parking lot. We are basically "bar people", and were pleased to find that there was plenty of room at the bar, opposite a huge flat screen TV with the Red Sox game on....an added plus! Our Bartender/Server was very pleasant, and took great care of us for the time we were there. I had one of their special burgers with hand-cut french fries & both were great. My friend and I come here annually for her birthday celebration due to a pretty good variety of gluten free options. The ambiance is cute and cozy and nicely decorated for the holidays. We visited on a Thursday night around dinner time, it wasn't all that busy and we chose to sit at the bars. We scanned the menu using the QR code as there were no paper menus. My friend became really excited when she saw that salmon Wellington was gluten free. Upon placing our order, the waitress informed her that the salmon Wellington was actually not gluten free and became annoyed when my friend mentioned that the menu online stated it was gluten free. We both ended up ordering the pot roast which was good. The mixed drinks were awful. I ordered a Mai Tai which was pure juice and ended up switching to wine. My friend wanted an espresso martini made the with Tito's (gluten free) and bar tender said the espresso martini was pre batch and could not accommodate her. Unfortunately the bar tender really ruined this experience for us. Will not be returning again. read more

We used to go here much more often but lately it feels like serving the patrons is secondary to either standing in a corner chatting and laughing about your upcoming weekend plans, or doing it right in front of you, sitting across from the bar, as if they too are customers, while my empty beer bottle and my friends empty cocktail glass just sit there. After ten minutes, I got a 'oh, did you want another drink'? Then, it takes forever to get your bill, then being allowed to pay the bill. Again, while folks are chatting and laughing in the corner, not even glancing around the room to see who needs what. When strangers in a bar are all looking at each other and asking 'where's the staff', only see hear and see them in a corner near the kitchen yucking it up, you stop going. A+++++ I had the marinated steak tips with mashed potatoes and sautéed fresh vegetables, it was outstanding, the tips were better than the ones I get at my butcher shop! my husband had the Fish and Chips, a oversized piece of haddock, beautifully cut and fried to perfection with also the best fries and coleslaw.
