Dr. DeGraw-Schwartz is a very knowledgeable dentist and sensitive to patient's concerns. She has a ton of advanced certifications which she proudly displays so I know that she is keeping up with the times with continuing education on her own behalf. Staff is very nice and friendly. They have some state of the art equipment on site which is better than most dentists that send mold impressions out making me to come back another time. I was a patient of there's back in 2016 I had thought I found the perfect place, with the hours they provided and multiple Drs I thought it would be great. I started my treatment in need of extensive work. I had a root canal done by Dr. Schwartz, I came back still in pain and was told that all the roots were taken out there was no way I could still be in pain I was even laughed at. During my visits things were dropped in my mouth causing me anxiety about future visits. I then went to a specialist and he did my root canal again am after having Dr. Schwartz doing it twice and he found pieces of instruments broken off in my gum or tooth and completed my root canal by getting the micro roots Dr. Shwartz wasn't able to see or find and even denied being there. I also had a crown put on here. After my bad root canal experience and having things dropped in my mouth multiple times while being worked on I wanted to find a new dentist. And did but when I did my crown came out and I needed to have it replaced, my insurance would not cover another one so soon so I had to go back here to have it repaired/ replaced and could only do it once. This time a male Dr. Did it. Thinking it would be ok because it was a different Dr I went back had it done. Now here I am a few years later at my dentist telling me that this crown is not good and needs to be replaced again. So basically everything all the work I had done here at this dental off is having to be Re-done. Not only did they make me not want to go to the dentist because of things being dropped in my mouth and instruments broken off into my gums for other dentist to find later but all the money I wasted having work done here and time wasted thinking I was In good hands. I'm in the process of having all the work they did re done! So much money and time wasted. Wish I would have never come here and just found someone else first. I wouldn't recommend anyone coming here. read more

My daughter had horrible tooth pain since Friday. She called me in pain while she was at work, made an appointment with a dentist in Santa Ana, and she was not considered an emergency. She called another dentist on Saturday, she was scheduled same day, when we arrived the dentist had left for the day and she was more than welcome to schedule for Monday. My daughter was in so much pain, I called a phone number and the lady on the phone checked and confirmed that this office was open and the dentist would be there when we arrive. Terri made us feel welcomed and she is a terrific person with a great personality. Dr. Pitel is an empathic dentist. She took care of my daughter and explained everything to her in detail. This past April after about 10 years my husband old bridge fell apart. Since he is going to Dr. Schwartz for his regular check ups and cleaning's had her staff replace his bridge. unfortunately it has been a nightmare. From the first consultation and measuring, after 3 months it got loose and broke in half. He is going back to her to get it resolved. I've never seen Dr. Schwartz but have been treated by a different dentist every visit (I never have a name until I arrive). Had quick cleanings that miss tartar ("sorry the hygienist isn't in today, the doctor will be doing your cleaning" and he's in a rush), sloppy re-cement of a loose crown with cement extruding below the crown onto the gum (should have been removed before I was sent on my way, necessitating my return trip to finish the job that day), Missed a root during a moderately painful root canal with resultant endodontic infection 1 year later treated by a different endodontic practice (painless). On the positive side, they are open sundays and reasonably priced. read more

I went to the dental office as an emergency. On Labor Day, I developed tremendous dental pain! I was able to get an appointment on the holiday. I tried to contact my own dentist but he could not see me on the holiday. I was truly pleased with the doctor and her staff. She explained things to me as she did them which helped a lot. I've been a patient of Dr. Degraw-Schwartz for five years now. She's a wonderful dentist and a great person. I'm not an easy patient - fear of dentist, general anxiety, strange allergies, and lots of childhood fillings that need to be resolved - but she has always listened to me, done everything to meet my needs, and treated me like a person first. I'm impressed with her talents and skills but also her warmth -- she's gotten to know me and my family; when I had a series of questions, she took the time out of her busy schedule to meet and talk to me for over an hour and refused to charge me; she even called me once after a crown procedure to check up on me -- it was 8 pm and I know she was taking time away from her family to do this. Recently, her office has expanded and Dr. Acosta saw me for some unexplained pain in my jaw. Like Dr. Degraw-Schwartz, he listened to me without judgment, understood my anxiety, and took the time to make me feel at ease. He shared his own experience on the topic and made suggestions that helped me with the upcoming procedure. I trusted him immediately. The Tooth Spa (Orange Dental Care) has not had the strongest office personnel in the past. However, the new officer manager, Martin, is amazing. He is very knowledgeable and professional yet friendly and caring. I've called 7 am about insurance questions and late in the day because of pain -- every time he has helped me right away, either by calling in a prescription or having the answer. I'd been a patient in Dr. Degraw-Schwartz's office since 2002, because of her excellence in pain management. I have had less success with her hygienists, however. I quit her hygienist Ceclia after one visit, and saw a hygienist in another office while seeing Dr. Degraw-Schwartz for regular dentistry. Recently I tried her new hygienist Julia Cherney, and had another bad experience. (1) Before looking at my teeth, she twice urged me to get a deep cleaning. (2) After I asked the dentist for a prescription for my usual high-fluoride toothpaste, Cherney said I really needed a toothpaste that I could buy only from her, that pharmacists couldn't order (yeah, right). (3) Without explanation, she did the cleaning in reverse order, first polishing and then cleaning. (4) During the cleaning, the N2O flow was not high enough. I held the mask against my nose with my left arm in the air during the entire cleaning, Cherney did not seem to care about my level of sedation. (5) After the cleaning, she asked me insulting, demeaning questions about my brushing practices. (6) I asked Cherney her last name, at first she refused to tell me. Only after I asked her 10 or 12 times did she tell me. This, even though her last name comes right up on the Toothspa web site. (7) I have now seen another dentist, who has a more sanguine view of my periodontal condition than did Cherney. After two days my mouth is still sore. It was the worst dental hygienist experience of my life. read more
