I am a Phoenix-area real estate agent, and my clients recently purchased a beautiful North Phoenix condo at a great price. However, the previous owner was apparently an extremely heavy smoker. Although the carpeting had been replaced and walls were repainted since the 'Marlboro Man' left the premises, the smoke odor remained overwhelming when you walked in the door of the condo -- even with the windows open! My clients were quite concerned that the smoke odor would never fade away. So I researched local duct-cleaning companies on their behalf and found that Top Hatter had been highly recommended by satisfied customers. Escrow had closed, but the new owners (who lived out of state) were not planning to arrive for a couple of weeks. As such, it seemed that this was the right time to contact Top Hatter -- I described the issue to them, and they recommended cleaning not only the air ducts, but also the coils within the A/C handler. Upon completion of their work, I returned to the unit on behalf of the owners, and unfortunately the smoke odor had remained. I contacted Top Hatter, and they immediately dispatched their crew to continue efforts to fully remove the lingering smoke odor. This time they also ran an ozone-generating machine in the unit for a few days and returned to the unit twice to continue cleaning and sanitizing. This time their diligent efforts paid off -- i.e., the smoke odor was entirely removed! I highly recommend Top Hatter not only for successfully mitigating the smoke issue, but for their continued diligence, high level of professionalism, and sincere efforts to stand by their work. Ok so my neighbor had a little fire and well the smoke came into my place and I had smoke damage. I was living out of hotels and my mom's house for 4 months trying to get someone to clean up the soot. Great service. At first it seems more expensive but it's fixed price (they don't nickel & dime you after they arrive). They did our 3300 sqft house with 2 air handlers in the attic. They washed each vent cover, and went the extra mile by cleaning our four fan covers! Many duct cleaners only clean the first reachable 5 feet. Initially spoke with Steve, he was very thorough and detailed in his explanations of how they take care of the duct and dryer vent cleaning and chimney sweep. The 3 technicians showed up, took care of everything as described and cleaned up after themselves as well, no dust bunnies were left behind at all. The lead tech, also went over proper care of all 3 items and gave me several, very helpful tips. We bought a house recently and got our air ducts cleaned this week. Great service overall. No mess was left behind and there were no hidden fees, the price was what was promised on the phone. Note: if you are very sensitive to smells, the smell of disinfectant is quite strong for the next 24 hours or so. Also, the vacuums they used were quite loud, so if you have little ones or pets, you might want to take them out of the house. It's awesome to have fresh air to breath! Mike told me that the ducts were probably never cleaned before (20 years, gross). That said, once the cleaning is done there is no need for cleaning for the next 5-7 years. The workers the company sent out overcharged me, but I paid anyway. Then I called the company about it and they assured me they would only charge my card for the amount of the estimate. The person I spoke to said they know some air duct cleaners are unscrupulous and that "we're not THAT company." However, I can see on my credit card statement that they in fact overcharged me by a significant amount. That is disappointing. We had what we thought a roof leak-which lead us to being told we had a dryer clog probably causing our leak. So we called and spoke to someone and the same day they had two guys out to clean out our dryer duct. Turns out there was no clog at all. This site allows its sellers to sell fake items even though they state otherwise. Also, if you win an item to low in price the sellers have ways of getting out of shipping the item to you. Don't count on getting much that is real or at a perceived bargain. This is my personal experience and have written my comments to Top Hatter support to find out nothing is done about it. I just had air duct cleaning for my home and they did a great job. They explained everything before and after. They were done in the time that they alloted. They also cleaned 2 chiminies. They did so good that I had them come 3 days later and do air duct cleaning at my commercial building. The a/c feels so much better and the building cools down faster. They were a little bit more expensive in their quote than other companies, however the other companies charge extra for every little thing and Top Hatter just charges a flat fee. read more

We called for a cleaning of our vents and ducts since our child has asthma. I chose this company because their reviews were so positive, and they did not disappoint. I spoke to the boss and he said they don't normally come this far out of town (New River) but because our child is having respiratory issues, he will send his crew out here. The team arrived on time as scheduled, and they were both wearing masks. They worked together to clean, mop and sanitize every vent and duct in the house, and they did an excellent job. They also removed all the vent covers and took them outside and cleaned them, and they went on the roof and cleaned all the dust out of the a/c unit.
