The food was decent. I would come back to try it again. The calamari was very good. I had the chicken meatballs initially. I did not like them. They lacked flavor to me, and they were rather dense. I swapped that meal out for the four cheese ravioli appetizer and that was good. Could have used more marinara, but you can easily ask for more. It had good flavor. Was excited to try this place after a trip that had me flying out of CAK. The grounds are beautiful as is the space and both made a great first impression. We were seated right on time at a lovely patio table with a view and then from there things went downhill. After we ordered drinks our waiter came back and we let him know that the hostess had mistakenly brought over two extra menus, we were only a party of two. He then informed us we were in the computer as a party of 4. I'm not sure why-- we made our reservation for 2. Then, he asked us to move to a back table away from the view since there wasn't 4 of us. Well at that point we were comfortable and happy and didn't want to move so we asked to stay. He clearly wasn't pleased by this and ignored us for the rest of the evening as best he could. We never heard the specials. We never had refills and we waited a long time for the check. The reason the review isn't worse is that the food was good. I had a great strawberry and Brie salad and my boyfriend enjoyed his pasta dish. The view was great as was the food but not sure we'll be back due to the service. read more

Went with a large group for Easter dinner and sat in a great room in the basement with a big round table. Great for such a big group to be able to talk to everyone. Amazing bloody Mary's, most of us got the manly Mary with bacon and bourbon. Someone ordered the "Bloody Mary experience" which was a meal in itself. We like to share so I got to try a lot of different appetizers and entrees and everyone was impressed with everything. The Brussels sprouts and the scallops really stood out. read more

Was able to get a reservation at 815PM on a Friday night. I've been here before but sat down stairs in the bar area where it was first come. This time I was seated on the main level. Obviously the food is pretty amazing and the décor is outstanding. It seems just a bit over priced for what you get. I understand Gervasi being priced the way it is, you get to roam the grounds in the spring and warmer months and have the whole experience, where here at the Twisted Olive its just the restaurant. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy this place - and I'll obvious be back and recommend it to my friends. It's just a bit pricey for what you get in my opinion. read more

Oh wow!! Definitely recommend coming here! Service was great!! But OMG the food.... So delicious! We had the pastry stuffed meatloaf and folded lasagna. We tried the risotto stuffed peppers, and really liked them. We asked the server what she recommended and asked about the meatloaf. She said it was good but we're saying it's was amazing!! I previously posted a 3 star review of this restaurant, however, after revisiting I am correcting it to be 5 stars. The food was honestly amazing. I went with my boyfriend during happy hour and we shared the calamari, it was amazing crispy and cooked perfectly. It was also served with a side of dipping sauce, rather than the normal marinara. I ordered the smaller portion of the apple and fig salad as well as a piece of salmon to go with it. The salmon was huge! Usually salmon is smaller when added on to a salad but this wasn't the case. My boyfriend got a burger and it was huge as well! Overall, the food was fantastic and I definitely will be going back! read more

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner on a Saturday night. We made a reservation and were seated a few minutes later. The only thing I felt odd was that instead of handing out buzzers, we were asked to give them my cell phone number and I would receive a txt when our table was ready. Not sure how efficient this process is, since I felt like I had to stare at my phone the entire time we were waiting. We were seated in a booth towards the back of the restaurant and to be honest, the light hanging above us was so bright and hanging so low, it was distracting and uncomfortable. But the place was so busy, we just dealt with it. We started our order out with fried calamari. It was just OK and the portion was rather small. I ordered the "Twisted" spicy pie and while the portion was HUGE, literally large enough to feed four people, the flavor was a bit bland and the crust a bit soggy. My BF ordered the Salmon which he throughly enjoyed. Overall, I think this was place was just about average. The decor and ambiance was quite noisy. I'm really not sure what kind of look they're going for. It reminded me of a ski lodge with modern decor elements. For the price, I would probably go elsewhere. read more

The food menu has plenty to choose from and each item has a unique twist to a traditional item. The wine and drinks menu has plenty of options to choose from too. Incredible patio, views, food and drinks. Happy Hour is only 2-6 M-F. Their martinis are incredible and their food is scrumptious. They have amazing crispy Brussels sprouts with bacon & Parmesan! You have to order those, the loaded chips (although I think they're better without BBQ and pulled pork) and their pizzas. My favorites are the BAT--Bacon, Arugula, Tomato, Provolone and Garlic Cream Sauce, as well as the Twisted & Sicilian (both are spicy). There's lots of private rooms to host a shower or party there. The bar opens at 12 on Saturdays, and you don't need reservations for that! Their gift shop has plenty of wine--all from Gervasi, so you know you're in good hands! read more

Our family of 4 dined here tonight in the new Covid world. We were greeted at the door, asked our name for the reservation, then escorted to our table. Spacing was perfect. All staff and servers were wearing masks. Patrons obviously not. Food and service was on point as usual, and great to see many of the staff have returned. Checkout may be awkward for some, as the server presents the bill and asks what you would like to leave extra as they are avoiding the the bill transfer with the mini bill folders. I recommend you tip well if deserved. They have less seating and service is more attentive. They're really doing their their best to provide the safest service possible. I heard positive things about the Twisted Olive so a group of us decided to check it out on a Saturday night. Both levels of the restaurant were packed and had a good vibe. We waited about 40 min to be seated but no biggie as there are two bar areas to help pass the time. Once seated, we shared a variety of items from the menu: calamari, fig salad, grow up grilled cheese sandwich, crab cake sliders, lobster pasta, fries and the buckeye pie. There were no leftovers. It's safe to say we were all satisfied with the food experience and we had great service! After smashing all that food, we walked around and peeked through different sections of the restaurant to check out the decor and ambiance. read more

We went on a Friday evening. It was fairly busy, but we got a table in just a couple of minutes. The server was excellent. Very attentive, friendly. Our dinner was very good. I ordered the crab cakes - a favorite, but I usually don't expect much in the Midwest... big surprise - it was excellent. My wife had the Grilled chicken salad. Again, very good. The ambience here is very nice, but not overdone. Service was excellent. As the name implies, things are a bit twisted. Normal American and Italian but with a nice and surprising twist. This divine, delicious, first class establishment is one of my favorite priorities when I travel back to my hometown of Canton, Ohio! Beautiful lake and forest views with immaculate landscaping. This is a must experience! The food is excellent and reasonably priced. There are so many mouthwatering choices it is difficult to make a decision. Nice size portions too!! Everything I have tried has been delicious. Plus wonderful wines and crafted drinks (so my friends say as I don't drink). One of the best GF menus I have ever seen with dessert optIons and GF bread served with your salad! The interior is cozy, relaxing, warm, inviting and great for a date or to reconnect with friends. Ok, our party of 4 traveled nearly 2 hours to get to the Twisted Olive, but it was the birthday of one of us and we wanted something special. We had reservations, and I would suggest anyone wanting to eat here during the virus pandemic not to go there without one! How as our meal? I had the Premium Strip Steak, even though it's typically my favorite beef cut, and I have to say: It was the best steak I have eaten in my 72 years. I usually douse my steak with Heinz 57, even at Ruth Chris's, but even though I asked for and got my 57, never used a drop of it! The steak was super tender, and was seasoned great! I ate all 14 ounces of it! The group also had the Salmon, Shrimp and Scallop dishes and they all were above average (especially the large scallops). The facility wine and beer were good. So how do I rate The Twisted Olive? The food gets a solid 5, especially my steak. The facility gets a 5. The service gets a solid 5. The bang for my buck gets a 5 (do not try this restaurant if you're not prepared to spend $75 or higher per couple). Will we go to The Twisted Olive again? Well, probably not real often because of the expense, but will again for another one of those steaks! read more

When we visit my folks, (80+yrs) we always take them and their friends to The Twisted Olive. The menu is fantastic, mom appreciates the gluten free menu. The restaurant feels very upscale, yet very welcoming and accommodating. The pork chops are amazing, the salmon was light, fresh, and flavorful. Even the greens beans were something else. Our waiter the past two visits was Nick, who could not be more professional. He remembered serving us two months ago, and was great dealing with my senior parents. Canton is very lucky to have the Gervasi group in town. We can't wait for our next visit. read more

Went here for the first time with my friend last week for a "girls lunch" we had the brussel sprouts and meatballs as an appetizer and we each got a salad. A little pricey ($80 dollars with drinks and food) but the atmosphere is gorgeous, large open windows that show the pond outside, nice big ceilings and hardwood floors, just a classy, nice place. The brussels sprouts were nothing short of wonderful, and i wish i could remember his name but i can't, but our server was excellent, her and i are both on a ketogenic diet, and our waiter had been on it before, gave us suggestions for local markets and food ideas that he had used, very friendly and felt like a part of our conversation! We will definitely come back here, looking forward to maybe coming in the spring/summer and taking advantage of the lovely outdoor area! read more

Facilities are very nice. Huge lodge, well decorated and bright. Didn't have reservations , so we had to sit in the bar in the basement. Service was good. Bought a bottle of wine. Wine was very good, but glasses were dirty. Ordered the meatball pasta and the BAT pizza. Both were very good, but the EVOO on the pizza made it pretty oily with the cheese. Service was ok, just a bit slow. Server was nice. Wine prices make this an expensive meal, $67 for pizza, pasta, bottle of wine and tip. Wine bottles are small and only have 2 1/2 glasses. Low lights: heavy handed on the seasonings. Fries had loads of grease and salt. Didn't eat them or take them home. The tomato bean soup was really spicy - even thought it isn't listed that way. Just ease up on the over seasoning. Bread had cold centers. High lights: Atmosphere! Burger was good. Cali T our waitress was very friendly and efficient...offered to replace the bread that came to the table cold. We will be back when it gets warmer out, and we will be sure to ask for less seasoning. read more

It's a casual dining place, but priced as fine dining. Most of the food is average. I dont think throwing a pizza down in front of my wife and myself on a cookie sheet is a good presentation. Calamari was bland and pretty tasteless. The last time I had a pizza that bad was when i was a kid and we bought those chef boyardee pizza kits. The pepperoni was deli bought sandwich pepperoni and the giant chunks of hungarian peppers cut on top didn't cook at all, they were raw. So that got sent back. They do have a decent bartender, but not even the best at that for the prices. I should have known it would be the same food as over at the vineyard. Only been there once as well. This place is one of my absolute favorite Italian restaurants! I've been here several times & have not been disappointed once. From appetizers to dessert, there's plenty to choose from. On our last visit we had the most delicious calamari appetizer I have ever had! Then, my husband ordered the Chilean Sea Bass for me & I ordered Short Ribs for him (we like to switch things up to keep things interesting. Haha).
