After meeting with Mario and pricing out the parts and build for a new PC, it was clear the PC purchase would have been over budget. Mario recommended a prebuilt PC from them called PowerSpec. He showed us the G535 and it had everything we wanted in a gaming PC but for almost $500 off the retail price if we had PC built. I asked why was it cheaper and Mario told us the PC was built before the rise in prices on the memory and GPU. We then met with James Tran who showed us the G535. I noticed they had an open box PC. James explained to us the open box was a return for resale at a cheaper price. It was $100 cheaper. We bought the PC and took it home. Unfortunately all was not well with the PC. When playing two different games, (Marvel Rivals & Ark: Survival Ascended) the PC freezes for 10 seconds and reboots to the desktop. I tried troubleshooting by playing two different Benchmarks and lowering the GPU graphics, deleting and reinstalling updated drivers and lowering video resolutions but to no avail. Every time my son would play the games the PC froze and rebooted. This lead me to believe there are hardware issues with the PC. Luckily the PC was still within their 14 day return policy for returns, exchanges and refunds. We decided we did not want to have their techs try to diagnose the problem with the PC and just return and exchange for a new one. MC's return and exchange process was very simple. You go online to their website, log into your account and file a return. You are given a QR code and just then head to MC. When we arrived (the nearest MC is Tustin which is 2 hours away), we met with James Tran again who helped us with the process. I explained to James what the issues were with the PC. He told us the option of walking over to their Tech area of the store and having their guys try and diagnose the PC. I told James we would rather just exchange it for a new one. James understood our situation and spoke with his manager who allowed us to exchange the return for a new PC at the open box price so we did not have a to pay the difference. MicroCenter staff especially their managers (forgot their names) along with Mario and James Tran were awesome. They truly satisfied our experience at their Tustin store and made our teenager son very happy. So far everything is working properly with the replacement PC. I'll do a follow up if things change. Thank you again MicroCenter!

I wanted to donate my MacBook to someone in need and this looked like a promising solution. I was worried that making a visit on the weekend to their tech bar for the donation process would be really busy and result in a long wait, but to my surprise I was helped very quickly! Queueing and "checking out" was quick, as the team member just needed to register my device and provided me with a receipt for tax purposes.

They were super helpful from the start. Did a full diagnostic to figure out the issue, reinstalled Windows, updated everything, and even cleaned my device while I was there -- that was a nice plus I didn't expect. I also asked about missing bolts for my PC case and they actually took the time to look for some at the store for me. Most places wouldn't bother. Pricing was fair: paid a diagnostic fee to find the problem, then $130 to fix everything. Other shops quoted me way higher just to look at it. No upselling, just honest work. Highly recommend if you're in HB. I'll definitely be back for any computer issues.

**Outstanding Service at HB Computers!**…read more I highly recommend **HB Computers**. I purchased my Lenovo laptop from Amir a few years ago, and I've been extremely happy with it. The price was very reasonable, and the laptop has worked great and been very reliable. Recently, I brought it back to HB Computers to have a larger hard drive installed. **Jesus did an excellent job**--the workmanship was top-notch, and the upgrade was completed promptly and professionally. What really stands out about HB Computers is the level of customer service. **Amir, Karen, and Jesus** were all friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely helpful. It's refreshing to find a local business that provides quality products, fair pricing, excellent technical work, and great customer service even years after the original purchase. **Five stars all the way. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend HB Computers to anyone looking for a computer, an upgrade, or reliable computer service. Thank you, Amir, Karen, and Jesus!**

(This review is a 2 for 1. The Geek Squad AND the store)…read more The GOOD, Bad, and Ugly: GOOD - Mira! She works in the Geek Squad area. I know nothing about setting up computers. I am a wiz-kid using them. I purchased a new computer but needed everything installed and set up. Yes, I know, everything is intuitive and should be very easy, but this girlie, is missing "intuitive" brain cells. **shrugging my shoulders with a tilt of my head**. I made an appointment and brought my computer in for set-up and software installation. (yes I had an appointment). Mira walked me through the process, asked relevant questions she needed and answered all my knucklehead questions. When there were people who just popped in trying to get her attention to ask a "simple question", without blinking an eye, she nicely asked them to make an appointment if they hadn't already done so or to take a seat and she would "try" to help them after me. I made a comment to her because she didn't seem annoyed or flustered with the endless drop-ins. She said it was "part of the job." I told her she definitely went to the head of the class when it came to customer service. I also warned her that I would be writing a Yelp review and mention her name. (corporate can you give her a raise? After all, she is a starving college student. I'm sure you remember those days, right???). If Mira is any indication of the Geek Squad's standard customer-service-comes-first attitude, they have me for life and I will be singing their praise to everyone and anyone who will listen. I'm sure the other Geek Squad reps are equally patient and professional and have a sense of humor just like Mira. I would like to note, several of my friends depend on the Geek Squad when they have computer or printer or other such problems and they are always praising the Geek Squad and now I see why. GOOD part 2 - The sales person who sold me my laptop, the various software, printer and monitor. He was a great representative of the staff working at the Best Buy in Ir one. I brought. Friend with me because walking into a store like Best Buy, I am a deer-in-headlights girlie. My friend purchased so many different things from Best Buy and always talked about the service and patience they had with her. People think I ask a lot of questions, well my friend asks a zillion questions that I wouldn't even have thought to ask. Hence the reason why I brought her with me, I really wish I knew the sales persons name. If I find it on the receipt or his employee number I will be sure to update this. Like I previously mentioned, his patience, and customer service was the same we experienced with Mira with the exception, this gentleman, explained differences from one laptop vs another or features, a monitor had vs another monitor. He never one tried to up sell me something. He asked me very important questions that directed us to the laptop that would meet MY specific needs. He never rushed us to make a sale. What a wonderful experience! It's almost like out of the "Apple Store" or "Chick-filla" playbook. BAD/UGLY - this is only a slight bad or ugly comment. The only thing I want to say is if you get a sales person who doesn't seem to want to help, please either immediately leave, ask for assistance from someone else, or ask to speak to a manager. Several months ago, before my purchase, I went there to purchase a modem. I had no idea which one to buy. When I first walked in I was told they would send someone over to help me. After 20 minutes a clerk came by said hello and said he would be with me in a few minutes. He then walked straight past me to other people who came in after me. I get it if staff gets paid on commission. But he didn't have to be so rude or dismissive. I have the patience of a Saint and would have simply bought time reading all the different modern specs but his attitude and behavior turned me off. Suffice to say, I wouldn't put up with it now especially since receiving the OUTSTANDING service from Mira and that other sales clerk #2. (I still gave them 5 stars although my gut says, 4.75.)

THIS IS WHY WE HATE YOU BEST BUY!!!!…read more Update... and I'm getting Deja Vu looking at my previous reviews. I shop here only when I HAVE to. My work computer mouse stopped working - needed a replacement that I knew my company would reimburse me for. It said online they had 3 of a model I wanted. Can't call them 'cause they don't care enough about their customers to have a phone anymore. Do you think they had them? Nope!! I stood around while they looked for 15 minutes. This has happened to me here so many times. Asked the manager if he could give me the model up at the same price. I'm sure they'd still make a profit and that's what I would do as a retail manager. BIG struggle later, he said he'd only give me 6 bucks off. Why make the customer actually happy with good will? ...go to the front, he will tell them. Do you think he told them? No. Once the guy at the front finally radioed back to him, he was stumped how much to take off... 6 bucks! We'd both told him. Now I stood there as this guy couldn't do the 6 dollars off math in his head and got out his phone calculator to figure out how much to charge me. Are you kidding me? Fed up and enraged, I walked out in the middle of the sale. THIS IS WHY WE F' ING HATE YOU BEST BUY!!!!

When I arrived, the Best Buy rep told me they first needed to run a diagnostic to make sure the screen could even be replaced. No problem. A few minutes later, he tells me, "Great, it passed the diagnostic. The only thing I'm concerned about now is whether we actually have the screen in stock because we've been short on inventory." And of course... they didn't have it. So you mean to tell me I scheduled an appointment specifically for a screen replacement, drove all the way there, waited for the diagnostic, and only THEN you decided to check whether you even had the screen available? Why couldn't someone check inventory beforehand and call me? Or at the very least, check as soon as I arrived for my appointment? Complete waste of time and extremely poor planning. Ridiculous.

We ordered a tablet and keyboard for pickup because the Best Buy website indicated that the order would be ready within one hour. My niece starts her first day of university tomorrow, and these items were a gift from her grandmother to help her start school. We were also dropping my niece off where she will be living for school and then returning home, which is not close to this location, so the advertised pickup timeframe was an important reason we placed the order this way. After almost three hours with no update, I called because I noticed the store would be closing in approximately 30 minutes. The automated system told me that the order was still being worked on. However, when I eventually spoke with an employee at the store, who I believe was named Laura, I was initially told there was a hold because my mother's bank had not paid the transaction. I work for the financial institution that issued my mother's card, so I am familiar with how our transactions are processed. The funds had already been taken from her account, and she had received no call, email, text message, or mobile banking alert indicating that the bank had declined or placed a hold on the purchase. When I explained this, the explanation suddenly changed, and I was told that it was actually a Best Buy team that needed to review the transaction further. I asked what additional information was needed so we could resolve the issue. The employee said she did not know. I asked if I could speak with the team reviewing the transaction so I could provide whatever they needed, and I was told that team does not speak with customers. I even offered to bring my mother to the store with her identification and the physical card used for the purchase and was told that would not help either. At that point, I was left wondering what exactly a customer is supposed to do to resolve a hold when no one can explain what is being reviewed, what information is needed, or who can actually help. The reason we placed the order for pickup rather than simply bringing my mother with us to shop in person is also important. My grandmother is currently in hospice and her condition has been getting progressively worse. Today, she had been running a fever, and we did not want my mother to have to leave her mother's side unnecessarily. She simply wanted to buy her granddaughter a tablet for her first day of university and make sure she started this new chapter on a positive note. What made the experience even more disappointing was the customer service. I felt that the employee I spoke with was extremely dismissive and showed very little interest in helping find a solution. When I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor, I was told I could not speak with one directly. The employee then placed me on hold to ask whether a supervisor could call me back and assured me that I would receive a call within a few minutes. That call never came. It has now been approximately two hours since I was promised a callback, the store has long since closed, and no manager or supervisor ever contacted me. My niece now begins university without the computer she expected to have because she did not bring her previous laptop with her, believing we would be picking up the new one today. We also live far enough away that simply returning during the week is not an easy solution. I understand that fraud prevention and transaction reviews exist for a reason, and I have no problem with a company taking reasonable steps to verify a large purchase. What I do have a problem with is advertising a one-hour pickup, providing conflicting explanations about a delay, giving the customer no way to resolve the issue, refusing access to anyone who can explain what is happening, and then promising a manager callback that never happens. A simple delay would have been frustrating but understandable. The complete lack of communication, accountability, and willingness to help is what made this experience unacceptable. At the very least, I expected someone from management to follow through on the promised phone call and attempt to find a solution before the store closed. That did not happen, and this experience has left me extremely disappointed with Best Buy.
