The upper room is one of my favorite restaurants in Tracy. They have fresh food with all their meats cooked perfectly without loosing any flavor or juiciness. I love that you can plate your own proteins and sides. The balsamic crispy Brussel sprouts are amazing. My daughter and I love have our little girls day lunches here and sitting at the window downstairs. They also have really good non alcoholic beverages that are teas mixed with other juices. I've ordered to go here many times and have been happy with our good. For the first time actually had a friend meet me here to dine in. And let's just say would NEVER dine in again. The service was just horrible. Our server spent more time talking to what I think were her friends at the table behind us. And not just spending more time there but they were talking SO LOUD! My friend and I could barely hear each other over their loudness and laughing. At first I thought it was just another customer because my back was towards them until my friend told me to turn around and she wanted to let me know it was our waitress! I had to verbally interrupt because we needed more napkins and refills and our server was busy mingling with her LOUD friends! We ordered to-go again and unfortunately our experience could've been better. My husband ordered 2 entrees for us to-go. - NY steak The steak was under seasoned like our last visit. I guess they don't season their steak at all. The menu on their website says it comes with a garlic butter compound (something they forgot on our last visit). but we were charged for it separately as an add-on. It was good but is it no longer included? -Grilled chicken Alfredo pasta. We did not receive what we ordered. I'm not sure how the gal taking the order on the phone interpreted "Grilled chicken Alfredo pasta" as "chicken a la carte". So when we opened the box at home, the box literally had 1 piece of chicken in it. Then we looked at the receipt and saw ok, we were charged $8 for 1 piece of chicken. So the girl didn't take the order correctly. So my husband and I split the steak entree and the piece of chicken. I will say the chicken was seasoned really well. Only wish they'd do the same on the steak. Perhaps they should repeat the phone order to the customer to make sure it's accurate. And also update their menu on the website to reflect accurate pricing. I get things are costing more but it left a bad taste to sneak in the cost like that. read more

We used to order lunch from here all the time at work, but the past several times we had ordered, there had either been something wrong with our order or the food was not good. So, I have not been here for a long time. I am doing keto, and was looking to go out for dinner at a keto friendly restaurant. The food was really good and there were no issues. For food, my friends ordered the half rack of ribs with french fries and a Poke Bowl (poke nachos without the chips). I decided to get the Chicken Bruschetta Wrap with a house salad. We had lunch there yesterday. We were a group of six. We were the first ones through the door at 11am. It has a rather unconventional layout. There's a small seating on the entry level and then there's the "Upper Room" which is the open floor above ground level. The stairs are steep and I can see it being a challenge for folks of a more mature age. There was one waitress who was also the searing hostess. After we were seated it took about 15 minutes before the waitress reappeared to take our order. After that it took 40 minutes for our food to arrive. 3 of us ordered the BLTA sandwich. I have to say the sweet potato waffle fries are extraordinarily good. But for me that was about it. The BLTA was meh. The bacon was not very flavorful and there was way too much mayo on the sandwich. By the end the bread was falling apart from all the mayo and avocado. The others ordered from the pick three menu and seemed satisfied with their selections. Was it with the wait? Hmmmm probably not. We had my grandson's graduation party here. I have never had such good service in a restaurant. The manager came to our table talked to us. One of the ladies ordered a medium rare steak and well done steak he noticed it and rather than her complaining, he complained and brought her another steak, medium rare. The food I had was absolutely delicious. This was my first experience here and believe me I will come back. I really enjoyed the entire restaurant. I ate at the Upper Room last night. I haven't been here in a couple of years but thought my group would like it. WRONG! It was like being in a dive bar. People at the bar overly loud and obnoxious.
