I unloaded my car with five boxes and a small cart, wheeled them and waited five minutes and then a girl came out from behind the counter and asked me if they were drop offs? I said yes then she said we don't have room for the boxes that I'd have to go to the hub in San Ramon, I asked her if she was kidding me and she said no you have to go to San Ramon. first of all I looked over and there was plenty of room for the boxes. Second of all if it wasn't a drop off and I was actually paying for them to do the shipping then of course there absolutely would've been room For the boxes. it was around 3 o'clock and I know the East Coast pick up is around four so they didn't have the space to hold four boxes for less than an hour. I said to the girl that that sounds like bullshit to me. So the real story is not that they didn't have room it's that since UPS has changed the rules on them and they don't make any money on my drop off they're not willing to service it. Considering it was so close to the pick up time and I do a fair amount of shipping from there she could've helped me out. That's called customer service . My wife owns a shipping company and has Accounts with all the major shippers so I get very good rates. Guess I'll be going to FedEx from now on. I hate BS. I called UPS but the boxes on my porch and they'll be here tomorrow morning to pick them up. read more

Rudest Amazon return I've ever done. Got a lecture about not putting my stuff in the original packaging. Doesn't that save from taking more packages and plastics?? Then she wouldn't discard my plastic for me "there are garbages outside". The garbages are about 3 stores down. Very rude. Only UPS I've been to where they do not just take the original packing. I encountered an extremely aggressive clerk today at 12:22 pm. I didn't think to catch her name but she is African American with long curly hair. She was extremely rude. I guess she decided that today was her day to educate me on how returns work. She condescendingly told me to not bring in things in their original packing, to read what Amazon says to do, and do not bring the QR codes to them on paper. She had a big chip on her shoulder. Just let her know I will bring in the things I am returning how I want to bring them in and I will use whatever way I want to present the QR code. Your job is customer service, learn to do it. read more

GO TO THE OTHER UPS STORE IN DANVILLE. The lady that works here is soooo NASTY. I have tried multiple times to just "ignore it" but I don't need to be treated poorly when I bring in my packages to be shipped. The LAST straw was when I came in and had a return package already with the UPS sticker and she made me wait for 2 other customers since I was not allowed to drop off without getting a receipt. I said "I don't need a receipt" and she said RUDELY "you have take the receipt or we will not accept the package". I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY OTHER UPS STORE TELL ME THAT. It was just another way to be NASTY. I think she enjoys it. PLEASE DON'T GO HERE. The other UPS store is in the Lucky shopping center and they are very nice. I have been an on/off client for 20+years. The new manager, Vienetta, takes the cake. She is rude, obnoxious and abrasive. I haven't EVER been asked to provide an ID when mailing. When I expressed surprise, she nastily said she is the manager and she will be sure to enforce the rules. Then, a package sent through this store to Pebble Beach was erroneously delivered to the Seaside post office. She snottily advised me that UPS packages do not have guaranteed delivery. WTF? I produce ID, produce detailed list of contents, ou take my money AND, SURPRISE she won't do anything to track down the package. OWNERS OF THIS BRANCH -- I HOPE YOU TAKE NOTE: Your other employees have been so helpful in the past few weeks: notary, passport photos, sending packages. Went there last week to send out Father's Day presents. The owner informed me the only way it would get there was by UPS two day priority mail. Which would've cost me almost $52. More than what was in the box. I opted for priority mailing from the US post office, and he only charged me $21 for that. The package arrived not only on time, but with the Help of the US post office, NOT UPS. This UPS store is a complete scam, they take enjoyment in ripping you off.Do not ever listen to their suggestions. The only thing they are in it for, is to take more money from you. I suggest going 5 miles further to send your packages. Trust me, it will save you a lot more money. read more

What a pointless way to lose a customer! I was looking on the UPS store website for document shredding services at the Alamo location and a coupon popped up for shredding, and a link to send the coupon to my phone. So, I go there and they tell me this store doesn't accept coupons. After showing them their location shows up on the ups site with the coupon, they called the owner, and after some discussion they said they would take the coupon this one time. But then they said I had to print it out. I told them the site sent it to my phone, so I have it on my phone (why would the website give the option to send it to your phone if you needed a paper copy?). I asked if I could forward the coupon to their email, and they said that's fine, but I would have to pay $5 for them to print it out. I wasn't even looking for a coupon in the first place, but at this point it's the principal. If they made any effort to remedy the situation I would have been fine with it, but they just wasted my time. read more

Avoid. $44 ($56 with packaging) to ship a 2lb box, ground. The same package, if I just print the label myself, is $12.95 on ups.com. That is a $31 mark up!! (Oh and also lies telling me USPS was going to be $55. False. I had checked their quote already, it was $12) Of course they had already packaged it before telling me this so I had to buy the packaging. But promptly went home and printed my own label and saved $31.05. Rip off, actually more like scammers. Edited to add: just realized on the paperwork that they were charging me for a 6lb box. This is a standard UPS store... nothing special except that the employees are super rude and there are always at least 3 people in line. It just seems like the employees would rather be dead than working there. Give yourself at least 20 minutes if you need any assistance - you will be delayed. I live in Alamo and I've been using this store and a Po box for more than 7 years and I finally had to discontinue their service due to their price increase and their unprofessional service at the counter. I come by here to pick up my mail once a week. Every time I come I feel uncomfortable and not welcome. This place used to be super friendly and being able to make any adjustments and gave me discounts. Ever since a new owner took over few years ago everything changed. This is more likely my problem than theirs, but I went into the store in a good mood and when I left I was pretty irritated. I went into the UPS Store in Alamo today to simply drop off a UPS package. I already had the return label from Amazon and the box was packed and sealed. I asked the clerk if I could have a bit of tape to secure one end of the box. I'm guessing I might have needed a total of 4" of clear tape. "Sure", she said, "that'll be a dollar". I asked if she was kidding and she confirmed that she was not. I walked out. A more business friendly response from a caring employee might have been, "I'll give you a bit of tape this time, but just so you know, we usually charge for tape so please consider that next time before you bring packages in here". I was in the store a minute early, (door was open and already customer inside before me), got chastised for that, and then I tried to leave my package on the counter after it was already 8:31 (but who is counting). The older woman at the store told me I needed to get a receipt (not a UPS policy, and no other UPS requires this) I attempted to leave without a receipt and she THREW my package back at me. I have lived in the area for many years and I've come here often to make copies, ship packages and buy cards. This is a great place to go for shipping because they are very well staffed, and they carry many different supplies you might need for shipping such as boxes, bubble wrap and tape. Every single person that has helped me, has been friendly and even at times, gone above and beyond with good customer service. It is also convenient, especially if you need to get a spray tan next-door ... You kill two birds with one stone, get a tan and send a package! What else would one want? I came in at about 5ish on a Monday wanting to send an overnight package, the woman who was helping me informed me that the driver would be getting there any second. I informed her that it was vital that I get those documents out. So she immediately started working on my shipment, when the next thing you know the driver pulls up and starts loading. I was in a panic but the woman (sorry I don't remember your name) asked the driver to please wait a few moments because there was one more package. Indeed the driver waited and I got my package out and delivered by the next day early in the morning. I am so thankful to the staff and driver. I am very satisfied. Again its quality vs quantity. Yes I can go to the post office wait a half an hour and pay half the price and still not get my package guaranteed on the next day. Hey time is money! Oh a side note: they have the funniest and cutest cards. The place is clean and the staff is on top of it. I will definitely be coming back in. read more

Terrible service. I won't be going back which is too bad since I live in Alamo. I told the woman, Loresa that I'm doing a return and the company had an account. Without bothering to look it up she said they don't handle those and I have to go to a main branch. What???? I had just done the same thing 3 weeks ago. The company providing the return was in their system. So I politely informed her of this and she said" I've never heard of them and dismissed me. I politely said could you look it up please? Begrudgingly she did and what do you know they were in the system. Then, she took forever, over 5 mins to " figure out" what to do. When I said " you know what, that's ok, I'll take my stuff to another location. Instead of apologizing for the wait, she said" just give me a minute, I've never done this and I have to read this" On the other hand another woman named Mayra was polite and helpful and tried to help out. Unfortunately I went there to get a document notarized for Contra Costa County. The notary was very young and refused to tell us what form he should use to stamp but said we had to choose. Now in the past the woman who notarized doc knew what form to use. This time we said you decide he chose the wrong form the county said we needed to get our docs notarized using the correct form and added he should have known what form to use. It cost us another 30 dollars. UPS said it was our fault. Never will we go to that office again read more

Someone from this store stole my package. I went in to mail a Next Day Air package, and the package was stolen when I turned my back to check something on the computer. The employees were super rude and didn't even offer to take my phone number when I asked if someone could have possibly turned it in. I spent about 20 minutes in the store and never left the store. There was one employee and she was not tending to any customers at that time, but she would not notarize the document because she was there by herself. Unbelievable, turn away a customer because she was instructed not to do any notaries before 10am. The lady behind the counter should have been gone several reviews ago. She is rude the other guy laughs. I had not pulled them up on Yelp before I went in there but when I was treated poorly I immediately looked them up and saw that I was not alone on the type of service I received.
