I have been remiss is posting a review of this business. I have been coming here for the last few years - a regular jaunt, often times to return something my wife purchased from Amazon. I have gotten to know the great people who work here, especially Nary who always greets me with a smile. In reading some of the prior reviews, something didn't seem right - in my opinion (having been to this business hundreds of times over the past 5 years), the negative reviews are not at all representative of this business or the people who work there. The team at the UPS Store in Alamo is simply outstanding. Nary, Jennifer, Vishwa, and Kianna always go above and beyond to make every visit smooth and pleasant. They handle everything with professionalism and genuine friendliness, whether it's shipping, printing, or problem-solving, or dropping off that Amazon return. It's refreshing to work with a group that takes pride in great service and remembers their customers by name. This place sucks for one reason...well, maybe two reasons only: They charge you 5 dollars to send them an email to them to print out your label if you accidentally forget to print it out. That should be a crime. That should be a courtesy service, not a chargeable offense. Secondly, the customer service is sub-par due to the limited knowledge base of some of the employees. As an EMT, I came to this UPS Store in Alamo to complete my Live Scan for my ambulance certificate/background check. After waiting almost six months for my permanent ambulance certificate, I found out the DMV did not accept it because the Live Scan operator section at the bottom of the form was never completed. I had to come back and pay again to fix an issue that should have been handled correctly the first time. When I returned, Vishwa became defensive and insisted everything was done correctly until her coworker stepped in and clarified the issue. Customer service wasn't rude overall, but the lack of training and understanding was extremely frustrating. As the customer I shouldn't have to tell her she needs to do this part of her job. She insisted as well that one form was all I needed. It was a request for a live scan. Not the actually live scan. She didn't even recognize the document as being what I needed. Mistakes like this can seriously delay someone's employment and certification, and staff handling Live Scan paperwork need to be properly trained. I would not recommend going to this location if you're looking for competent employees. read more

Wow, it's apparent why they have so many 1 star reviews. Went in on a Sunday afternoon about 10 minutes before they were closing and was told abruptly by the lady running this location she would not take big boxes any longer today as they were full. Is this standard UPS policy to limit how much business they do in a day? She informed me I could return tomorrow or go to anther UPS. Really? I asked for her name and she refused and when I pushed for it, she called me a F...ing Bas...d. I wonder if that language is allowed in their franchises? UPDATE - went to the DANVILLE UPS store this am, they were busy with one person working who was pleasant and efficient. I asked if they ever refuse large boxes based on being too full and she was surprised by the question and said that was never the case. No way would I ever return to the Alamo UPS store, and happy to drive the extra 5 minutes to get great service in Danville! read more

I took a package in with a label I had printed at home. They said their scanners could not read the label and I would have to pay $5.40 to have them reprint the label. They were quite rude. I went to anther ups store whose scanner could easily read the label. I don't know if both of their scanners were broken or ...?? read more

Shippers Beware! I brought in a suitcase to ship to my destination. They wanted to sell me a box for it, saying UPS wont take it unless it was boxed. That is patently false, I use UPS and FedEx to ship suitcases, golf clubs, even my snowboards multiple times a year. Mailing a package. I believe it's the owner but last two times we were there he was extremely rude. Will never return.

I love this UPS location and its employees. I often drop returns for Amazon or mail packages during the afternoons, and the ladies that work there are super friendly, helpful, and expedient, even if it's busy. Im not sure why people complain... the bad reviews are likely from grumpy people. Whenever I go, everyone there has a smile on their face and leaves happy. Once I forgot to tape on my label and cover old labels, so I bought some opaque brown tape. When I realized it wouldn't work for the label, the woman helped me carefully tape the edges and said she would take care of the rest. Another time I wanted to doublecheck I hadn't swapped labels on two packages soon after dropping off; they quickly retrieved them for me so I could check. My kids love coming in with me because they know it's a happy place! read more

I followed a customer that had dropped off a couple of packages for mailing. The man behind the counter noticed I was waiting but chose to totally ignore me while he dealt with the packages--no "sorry,I'll be with you soon". After a few minutes he turned to me and I told him I'd like to have a passport photograph taken. His response was "machine broken--come back Tuesday " With that I left and will never return. It is not the first time that I have received this kind of treatment from this rude person. Hard to understand why he is still there unless he owns the franchise! read more

We arrived at opening time. The tall gentleman working there had extremely poor customer service. He was rude, unhelpful and without any greeting or smile. He could not complete a live fingerprint scan or notarized a signature and could careless about our need. Their website advertises these services as always available. The UPS Store in Alamo California lacks service, etiquette, and reliability. I frequent the UPS location in Walnut Creek and the staff at that location is so much more welcoming, customer service friendly, kindness and courtesy go a long way. The Indian gentleman who works here is extremely rude, tactless, perhaps he is just blunt. Working with him feels like visiting the dollar store. One would not expect an experience like this from any business in this area. I have worked with the young ladies at this location in the past, they are so funny, so nice and pleasant to work with. The location is convenient for a local residents, into Walnut Creek or Danville could be problematic as traffic is heavy. If you're very prepared for your visit and don't require any real communication with the human beings, it is an acceptable location for Amazon returns. However, if you're looking for any kind of help or need to have a conversation with someone and you don't want to be bothered by their lack of interest or care do not come to this UPS. read more

I am not sure why this UPS rating is so low. They get a ton of packages and never make me feel bad about bringing in a bunch of Amazon returns. The staff are busy but efficiently professional. Many people also use their notary services. I do see my share of confused customers not sure about the finer details of their Amazon returns and blaming the UPS for a process that Amazon controls. read more

Cat was extremely helpful and made my whole shipping experience so much better than it could have been. I brought in several items I was considering shipping, and she helped me weigh my options and tape up boxes, etc. She also lent me a dolly so I could get heavy boxes from my car. I am so grateful for her help, and will definitely be returning to this location. read more

I would give zero stars if it was an option. My husband and I have never been so mistreated when simply trying to get a document notarized. Nary P. was hateful and rude. The man behind the counter was so rude! This is the second time that the man behind the counter said that he couldn't take our package because there was no space. He took a package right before us that was large. And it looked like there was more space to put packages. Thanks to the UPS website, I found this location listed as accepting packages until 5:00 p.m. Yeah! My route that day took me to Alamo and I was able to stop in just before pick up time. The employees were friendly and immediately took my package, which was already labeled and taped and ready to go. They gave me a drop off package receipt with a tracking number and I was in and out of the store and the parking lot in 5 minutes! Note: I knew that this little shopping area in which this UPS is located is a bit tricky due to parking and traffic flow. I've seen quite a few accidents between vehicles pulling out from the side streets on either side (Orchard Court and Jackson Way) and vehicles on Danville Blvd. or those pulling out from Alamo Shopping Plaza on the opposite side. read more

The man had a frown on his face and was extremely rude, they really don't know how to treat their customers. I will never give them my business again. Friendly staff. Customers not so friendly. Repeatedly, I have seen customers coming in acting like the staff should bow down and Honor all of their requests, even as unreasonable as they may be. The staff here are often treated like servants. They are not. They are humans working in a store catering to many elite. If you want that kind of service, hire an assistant. These people do not work for you. They provide a service and that is all they need to provide. They have always been amicable to me and I visit frequently. read more

I come to this location for UPS drop offs and the occasional notary. They do a great job and are friendlier than most UPS / Fedex locations. The parking lot can get crowded since there are martial arts and tutoring businesses in the same mall. But that's only certain days. Every once in a while they may have a relatively inexperienced employee. That's not as enjoyable since even the simplest request can take a long time. But that doesn't happen often. read more

WORST. EXPERIENCE. EVER. I have gone two times to get my Live Scan fingerprints for a government clearance. They screwed it up two times in a row, costing me a job opportunity and much time wasted. Sacramento told me via telephone to ask them to do it a third time for free. UPS's response to me? I need a rejection letter from the state and a shit-ton of paperwork. I have paid them my money and fees - and now I'm forced to pay a third time instead of waiting for the bureaucracy to sort out a rejection letter. I don't know who's worse, governmental agencies or this UPS store. They are neck in neck. I won't step foot in this place again no matter how much I have to pay out of pocket at another outlet. read more

I called in to inquire if they do finger print cards. I asked what time they will be able to help me. I drove 25 minutes and showed up at the exact time instructed only to find the store manager giving me asshole vibes telling me that his finger print guy is on lunch. I told him that I just called in to inquire when to show up because I had a busy day and he essentially rudely rushed me out of his store. What's the point of calling ahead? ARAM is the rudest piece of shit period! I tried to return cable equipment and he acted as if he was doing me a favor. Hey pulled everything apart one by one and took his sweet time. I wasn't in a hurry so I watched in amazement. I asked if I need to sign off on anything and he ignored me. The customer next to me asked what was his problem?. I just smiled and waited until he was finished. He tossed me my receipt and didn't say a word. Then demanded I take the empty box with me. I walked out. The asshole sent the equipment back to my old house. I called and verified that I dropped my package off at the UPS store and it has been confirmed. This fool just cost the franchisees some money in useless shipping and lost equipment. I hate to say this, but this ain't India pal. They were efficient and friendly, with a large plexiglass barrier. Distressingly one of the employees (Shannon) had a surgical mask on. Alas, her mask didn't cover her nose. Absolutely. Useless. I don't know why I keep giving this store chances. I've got some sort of UPS-Stockholm Syndrome going. They charged me a usurious fee to pack a couple of boxes that were being shipped to my son at college. They each had a Technics turntable in a road case (thank God) and they literally threw the cases in the bottoms of the boxes, dumped foam peanuts on top, and taped them shut. I asked for box-in-a-box packing, at which point they decided that the road cases were 'boxes'. Both boxes tore open during transit and lost all their packing material. The road cases were scuffed, but the turntables were okay. I went in awhile back to print something on the color laser. They said I had to rent time on the computer to do it. Okay...whatever. I had to prepay with my credit card and logged into the computer. The computer wouldn't speak to their own printer. Problem wasn't my file-it worked fine at Kinko's, where I should have gone first. I told the UPS lady it wasn't working, at which point she tried it herself several times before giving up and telling me it wouldn't work. I said okay and asked for a refund for the computer 'rental'. She refused because I had actually 'used' the computer. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Fast forward to today. Sunday afternoon, had a couple of beach chairs that needed to go back to Amazon. They arrived after the vacation, of course. Re-boxed and sealed per the instructions and headed to the UPS store with my QR code on my phone. When I got inside with a bulky, but not heavy box, there was a young lady in front of me dropping off a sweatshirt that was going back to Amazon, as well. It wasn't packaged, just folded. The man behind the counter didn't acknowledge me at all, and grunted something at the girl, who left. I stood and looked at his back for a solid minute and a half while he shoved the shirt into a bag, put a label on it, and made a big deal about throwing, not tossing it into a bin. I already had the QR code up on my phone, and just before he scanned it, he asked me what was in the box. He speaks!?! I should have answered "Your mom", but opted for the truth-a couple of beach chairs. He immediately said "We don't take furniture'. I said it's not really furniture-it's a couple of folding beach chairs. He flat out effing refused to take my damn box and turned around and walked away. I swore and cussed all the way to Danville, where the nice, courteous lady took my box with a smile...like she was grateful for the money that Amazon pays them to process these things. Speaking of which, I'm making it my personal mission to get this location blacklisted for Amazon returns. Once I figure out the procedure to make a complaint, I'll update my review with the info for others to do the same. I truly hate this place with every fiber of my being. The young lady who worked there was pleasant, helpful, efficient and quite kind. She went out of her way to help me with the package so that I could get it into my car and subsequently my home. I frequent this UPS store for Amazon and mailing gifts out of state and my husband is probably there almost everyday mailing things for his work. Every time I'm in the store they staff, sorry I forgot everyone's names, is super friendly and helpful. I've stood in line due to capacity limits and some people have yelled at them, complained about having to comply with the rules and still they maintain a professional demeanor. When they implemented the charge for tape, they kindly explained the reason and I completely support the change. I can't imagine why people feel so entitled and rude when a small local business is also trying their best to make it during tough times. read more

Brought a document in for retirement and after waiting for approximately 10 minutes was told I needed to bring in all pages of the document. Pregnant lady in front of my was trying to return 2 boxes and was told they had to be in just one box for the return. She told the man working the counter they were each shipped in these exact same boxes. The man said had to be returned in just one box. So, I left and came back with all the additional pages to be notarized. I was next in line, but lady now working by herself was notarizing another person's document. I waited for 10 minutes and while waiting, 4 more people came in to ship packages. She finished with the person's notary and had me sit down and said she'll be right with me. I waited for another 10 minutes while she helped all the people behind me. Another person walked in to send a package and she ignored me and helped him. I walked out at that point. Very bad customer service for both people working there today! Had a problem here years ago shipping a package that they boxed and was broken during delivery. I was told it was packaged incorrectly so no refund on insurance. Even though they packaged it, the company said it was the owner's responsibility to refund me. Never got a dime. Won't be coming back for another few years I guess! read more

I unloaded my car with five boxes and a small cart, wheeled them and waited five minutes and then a girl came out from behind the counter and asked me if they were drop offs? I said yes then she said we don't have room for the boxes that I'd have to go to the hub in San Ramon, I asked her if she was kidding me and she said no you have to go to San Ramon. first of all I looked over and there was plenty of room for the boxes. Second of all if it wasn't a drop off and I was actually paying for them to do the shipping then of course there absolutely would've been room For the boxes. it was around 3 o'clock and I know the East Coast pick up is around four so they didn't have the space to hold four boxes for less than an hour. I said to the girl that that sounds like bullshit to me. So the real story is not that they didn't have room it's that since UPS has changed the rules on them and they don't make any money on my drop off they're not willing to service it. Considering it was so close to the pick up time and I do a fair amount of shipping from there she could've helped me out. That's called customer service . My wife owns a shipping company and has Accounts with all the major shippers so I get very good rates. Guess I'll be going to FedEx from now on. I hate BS. I called UPS but the boxes on my porch and they'll be here tomorrow morning to pick them up. read more
