The UPS store in Benicia located in the Solano Square is awesome!! They were able to copy my grandmothers 200 page hand written family genealogy for me! They took the time to make sure each page was copied and every photo was legible. Some of these dated back to the very early 1800s! my family may not have royalty in it however they treated my hand written book as if it was a national treasure! I am so appreciative. I use this UPS Store quite often, and everyone in this location as been amazing, kind, helpful and pleasant to deal with. They have gone out of their way to help everyone in their store. I recommend this location and will continue to use them for all my shipping needs. Sadly, I just read the review from Jason C. which I was surprised to see, since I was in the store shipping packages during his sad incident. I was very sad watching it all unfold when, this man decided it was ok to yell, scream and treat the young lady that was trying to help him with pure meanness. She did not deserve the treatment she received and for some reason this customer thinks he has the right to treat people like that. If it had been me, he was talking to that way I would have called the cops. I encourage everyone to continue using this UPS store location. Called them to get a price on shipping small tile accent table, maybe 22" x 22" 20" . Said they could do it. Gave me a price. I live far away and am buying online from an individual. After they took my card info, I contacted the seller and made payment. I would not have purchased if I could not get it shipped. After I made payment the seller was going to drop it off. Call the USP store and then they said they would not ship it because of liability concerns. But now I have bought the table what do I do? If they have liability concerns to me means they are not able to package well and have had problems. Could care less about the fact they put me in a bad situation. Needed to return a package to Amazon. Amazon had emailed me the label, but our electricity was out, so we called the store and asked if we could get the label printed there if we just had it on our phone. Bernie, answering the phone said, "You can bring it on your phone and email it to me and we can print it." We pile in the car, drive to the UPS store, and now Lisa says that we can rent their computer for $2.50 and pay $1.00 additional to print it. Worst customer service ever. I brought in a super heavy return for Amazon and the staff was not willing to help me bring it in and just told me the dolly was in the corner. Then the incompetent worker proceeded to horribly tape the box up and then had the nerve to charge me money for all the tape SHE used! Never once telling me beforehand that she was going to tape it or that she was going to charge me for tape! I will probably drive further to another UPS store than come back here! read more

Packing was dismal! Tape everywhere with folds and bubbles. I had to ask to touch it up because there wasn't tight, too much play between the folds. Quoted $20 for the packing. No questions about whether you need overnight, ground, whatever, they just quote you the highest possible price and hope you won't blink. Some kind of crazy price markup system they use here. They dropped $105 on me, then after more discussion, the price went to $65, then $50. Went to the post office and sent for $26. An unscrupulous business. I would avoid them. read more

Completely incompetent. I went in to have live scan fingerprinting done and the lady quoted me $74. She was incredibly rude and gave me no instructions for how to put my fingers on the scanner, so I followed the lights on the scanner itself. She yelled, "what are you doing, haven't you done this before?". Well, no. When she couldn't find my country of birth she asked what the "nearest country to it" was. I explained to her that you can't use another country for background checks, the information wouldn't line up. Eventually she found it. The total ended up being $99. When I asked her what happened to $74, she said she didn't say that. And then changed it to, "I don't come up with the prices!". When the other lady asked her when to close the store she said to go ahead and do it right now, to which the other lady replied that it was only 4:45 pm and they got into a passive aggressive argument, but I left. Shockingly terrible service. I would've left, but I needed it done that day. If the manager of this location would like to contact me I will give him dates, times and names. My guess is they won't, looking at all the other one star reviews. read more

I don't typically write negative reviews, but this is one business that I feel actually deserves one. If at all possible, I suggest you avoid doing business at this UPS store. I keep thinking maybe my last bad experience was a fluke, think I will save some time by going there, and go back again, but I'm realizing it's just the way they do business. I have had numerous less than satisfactory experiences here. To name a couple: I have been told they could accept UPS packages worth more than $1000. They can't. (I didn't trust them from prior experiences, so I called UPS directly to check.) I have been charged about $5 to mail a USPS first class envelope that should have cost $1.70 or less. There may some things about the parcel shipping system I don't understand, but things consistently fail to add up at this establishment. read more

Two recommendations for prospective customers: 1. Don't print labels at this store for prepaid items 2. Use the post office if you need to mail a package I base this on having walked in with two packages. One needed a label that was saved in email the other needed shipping to be paid for. I asked to use a computer to print the one label, with no mention of how much it cost I was pointed to the corner. After agreeing to pay $13 to ship an already boxed set of slippers to LA by ground, the owner slid by and whispered in the cashier's ear. It was obviously to tell him to charge me for the computer, like it was a secret. Add $2.65 to my tab for "one hour" of computer use and a copy. Just tell me up front what it's going to cost and seriously fix your prices. Those other one star reviews seem much more believable. Save yourself the convincing. read more

This is the first review I've ever written for any business. The only reason it's one star rather than none is because that's not an option on Yelp. [DO NOT GO HERE. These are the kind of people that will run you over and drive away without stopping to ask if you're alive.] First off, both shipping stores (this one and the one in South Hampton shopping center) in Benicia are rude. I've lived here a year and given both many opportunity so to display even a small amount of kindness. I'm a friendly customer and always giving people the benefit of the doubt, but this place has lost that benefit. But it was today after checking on a package I mailed 13 days ago that was the final straw. They said the package went to the wrong address. Which was because they did not type 'Wood Street' but 'Wood WDMS'. What is that?! Who types 'WDMS'? What does that even mean?! I told them calmly it was Street not WDMS and they said they would call and fix it. They did not offer to reimburse me. Even though it was clearly their mistake. [DO NOT GO HERE. You may think their not that bad at first, but the consistent rudeness will eventually get to you.] I leave. Talk to my family and discover it is Road not Street so I return. I wait as someone is ahead of me. The rude older tiny blonde lady (described in previous reviews) asks If she can help me. I describe the situation and she ignores me for approx. 4 min. I don't mind waiting my turn. But why ask if you can help if you just ignore the person? So when it's my turn I again tell them it's Road not Street. They say they will call and make the correction. I say, can I call and make the correction. No, they say. They don't tell me when they will call. They don't tell me they will let me know when correction has been made. They don't offer to reimburse. They treat me like a marginalized stranger. No kindness. No customer service skills. No basic human decency. [DO NOT GO HERE. Their tone is always that disassociated with the customer who is wrong and a pain in the ass kind of tone.] This was a Christmas package for my children. I am on the verge of tears. I drop my packages off here all the time...I work harder then the employees do. Why have employees why not just a scanner and a scale. These kids don't help with anything and the door swings out, I had to have it stay open I had a bunch of ups boxes to drop off they closed it said they didn't want bugs. LOL ok well help and then after they scan my boxes in I have to move them? Why are you getting paid so your job! Fire them all and just have a remote desk or help and do your job! I have been using different UPS Stores for printing and mailbox's over 2 decades. I have been disappointed in experience of this UPS store. Shipping has been ok and no issue there. My need around printing and scanning suffers greatly and prices are high compared to other UPS Store. Their prices on scanning is ridiculous. I took a job to them and they quoted $32 for a job I had done at the Lafayette store for under $3. Requesting a printing job of files on a thumb drive they charged me workstation time. It is convent having them in my area yet I find myself going to other UPS Stores for my needs. read more

I've have had no problems with this store. I use it to receive mail and they are very efficient and reliable. Much more than the one where I used to live (also a UPS Store). The service is friendly, that's always a plus. And there are basic supplies available after hours. (pens, tape, scissors) I've shipped a small item with them and the price was fair. I went in to get a package that had arrived for me at 9:25 this morning !! The manager said "No we don't have anything for u" I pulled out my phone and said that's not true it arrived this morning . They went to look for it , the manager was training 2 new ppl a girl and a young man. The manager said "oh no i think we gave wrong package out to the other lady this morning and there's nothing I can do I'm So sorry " REALLY??? I'm beyond upset . The new girl then made a comment " there were only 2 people that came and got packages , I accounted for them so I don't know where ur package is " she laughed and walked away . I'm beyond upset Iv been going. Here for a year and now all of a sudden I have problems The manager had the nerve to say " I need to get my own box and this never would have happed " ARE YOU SERIOUS?? It's now 1:30 in the afternoon and I still have no package , this package is $50.00 worth of makeup product that I can not order again because the product is no longer avalibe. I came to the UPS store because I knew they sent faxes, and it was the closest one to my house. When the attendant initially sent my fax, the line was busy. I asked him to try it again, and the next time it went through. When he rang me up, it was $5. I thought "that's a little steep," and when I looked at my receipt, he charged me twice for just the one fax. When I asked why he said "because I had to dial the number twice." At the end of the day $2.50 more that comes out of my pocket isn't a huge deal, but it's the principle that bothered me. I should have been charged fairly for the one fax that was sent instead of having to pay for a busy dial tone as well. So there, I ain't comin back! read more

I have had both really great experiences here as well as really bad. I ship from here about 2-3 times a month sometimes more but I will no longer use this business after today. Last week, the gentleman who helped me was extremely kind and patient and checked multiple rates to make sure I was getting the lowest price. He was wonderful! However, today I had the completely opposite experience. I went in this morning to drop off my package that was already paid for online. It was a high value item so I paid for the additional insurance. Due to the declared value, UPS requires a signature from the person at the UPS Store verifying that the package was dropped off. When I took my package in this morning the woman at the counter refused to sign the receipt that I was dropping off the package. Not only that but she was very rude about it. I called customer service and they let me know that she should accept the package and cannot refuse to sign the paperwork. I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere with her, I've been in several times and she's always very rude and short with customers. So, I took my package to the Vallejo UPS Store and they were very kind and happy to sign the necessary paperwork to get my package shipped so that I wasn't violating the terms and conditions. I was told that it happens often that the woman at the UPS Store in Benicia refuses to sign the paperwork because she doesn't want to take on the liability. It is unacceptable that a UPS Store refuses to sign UPS paperwork to ship a UPS package! read more

The lady and man that helped me here today have been very helpful. Everything was quick and easy. I kinda liked the fact that they charge a flat rate for computer use rather than charging by the minute like some other stores do. When being charged by the minute I feel rushed. The only thing I suggest is that if you need to print something from your email make sure it's present in your inbox before arriving to the store. Total sham store. I just watched them totally scam a poor old grandpa in front of me in line. Quoted him $100 and then wrapped up the package and told him it would be $170. He was confused and distraught but they had his package behind the counter held hostage. When he went to pay they charged him $206 without his permission. The owner said the $170 was for shipping only and the rest for the box and packing peanuts. Fleecing a sweet grandpa with a veteran hat shipping his grandkids Christmas gifts!! Then they were total jerks to me and did not take back my package to Amazon because they werent making money off shipping it because it was a prepaid shipping label on a huge package. Prices are extremely unfair. I shipped a laptop and it cost me 50 dollars. I was first told the price was 34 dollars, then as I reached for my wallet she said 50, she said it was the difference for shipping materials. No way shipping a box with a laptop should cost 50 dollars, I only came here because USPS was closed and I am in a rush to get my laptop replaced but I am very dissatisfied. I've used their services various times over the years, usually for color copies or printing, sometimes mailing things. I don't think anyone's ever been rude to me. They're not overly polite, but I prefer that. I've thought they charged an awful lot for mail before, like the time it was $18 to send a half page sized padded envelope to Oregon, regular speed, but I went for it out of a desire for convenience and speed. Of course, the PO would have sent it for a third of that. Okay. But I've reached the last straw with them charging me $7 to print out 5 pages in color. That included $2.50 to plug my thumbdrive into the computer and hit print. Okay, you guys got that money, but you lost my business. I won't come back unless I absolutely have to. Hope it was worth it. You can print color at the library for a dollar a page. Not cheap, but at least it's going to the library, and you know they're not going to gouge you with invented fees. read more

I was trying to meet a deadline in shipping a return package and this store closed 10 minutes early. Even saw the clerks getting in their car and smiling as they said they were closed. They claimed it was past closing time but it was clearly not. Neither my phone, nor my vehicle clock showed it was past closing time. I went to Rite Aid nearby to pick up a product and they told me the time was yet past the closing time. I was scammed on craigslist selling an AppleiPhone Plus I mailed here and called the owner to stop the delivery 10:30 am friday she said she was too busy and would call me back. I waited all day friday and she didnt call sat. so the scammers got my phone monday at 10am. I had left her a message friday nite why hadnt she called me back and expected a call sat. I got a ride in tuesday and asked her why she lied and said she'd call me& she just said she wss off monday when the phone was already gone which didnt matter by then& she couldnt give me an address where it was delivered for the police report becuz the scammers changed the address so it would be hard to track them. I went here the other day because I needed to print out address labels. I had my one month old baby and two dogs with me. Jerilynn went well above and beyond helping me out. I am computer illiterate and she took care of every last detail for me. When I walked in the store I was stressed out and worried about getting the labels done in a timely manner(before my baby woke up!) and I walked out of there with everything taken care of. I was on my way home from work and needed a few things copied and notarized. The employees working in the store were extremly pleasant and helpful. They greeted me as I walked in and went over and beyond to make sure I didnt forget anything. I left the store feeling less stressed. The next experience at the Ups Store , I thought would be just as great, but much to my suprise was not the same. One of the friendly employees was helping me with the computer and I overheard a woman on the phone speaking very loud and in a forein language. She proceeded to use profanity and slammed the phone down and walked in the back. I believe that she may have been the Manager of the store. I am very disappointed that a manager would not follow the same policies that they usually enforce. I may still continue to shop at the store but only because her staff was phenomenal. read more
