This store, its employees and overall attitude are abysmal! I am glad to see other yelpers agree with this assessment. I went to this facility as they provide Live Scan services (fingerprinting) which I needed for a job application. The first time I went in, the employees looked at me like they had no idea what I was asking for. The girl helping me was nice enough but totally incompetent. She sent my fingerprints to the wrong office and screwed up my whole job application. When I went back after receiving a letter telling me to redo my fingerprints, the owner was the one helping me. He seemed to have a marginally better idea of what he was doing. When he finished fingerprinting me, he started ringing me up. I balked! Why the hell should I pay twice when it was his employee who had sent them to the wrong office??? He made a few phone calls and said he would let me know what to do. He called me every day for FIVE days harassing me while I tried to find out what was going on with my fingerprints. I finally spoke to him indicating that the first set of fingerprints was worthless (because of his incompetent employees) and the second one should be comped as such. He not only refused to honor my second set of fingerprints and had them canceled, he refused to refund me for the first set of fingerprints. Totally unethical, and completely unpleasant. This store and all their employees, especially owner JOHN TAMISLEA are unhelpful, dishonorable, and unprofessional. I have NEVER had such a bad consumer experience. NEVER GO HERE!!!!! read more

I waited patiently, even though the rather disorganized staff let someone cut in front of me. Finally, when they were done with everyone else - the notary refused to even look at the form I needed her services for. She said she couldn't notarize it. This is completely incorrect, the notary I went to after that didn't have a problem with it. Oh, and the prices I overheard during the long wait, were obscene. read more

To be fair, I don't have a problem with the store itself. And one guy there, Ben Weiner was a help. I sold a $1,750 guitar on eBay. I packaged the guitar up and insured it through UPS for $2,000. It arrived in Arkansas with a huge gouge in the top. No damage to the hard case it was shipped in. I also wrapped the headstock in bubble wrap to prevent shifting which wasn't on the guitar when it arrived. It is of my opinion that at some point, due to the location of the gouge, lack of damage to the case and missing bubble wrap that the guitar was at some point inspected and the buckle on the case caused the gouge. No way to prove that, just my opinion. But it's okay right? The guitar was insured for $2,000 for the unfortunate event something like this would happen right? The purchaser was refunded, guitar was shipped back to me (via USPS) and a claim was made for the guitar. I was contacted by a Ben who helped me with the claim. I shared emails and photos of the guitar. I was asked to get a quote for how much if at all the guitar could be repaired. After submitting that, I was told that my claim was denied!! I sold a beautiful Gibson J45 acoustic guitar in excellent condition and was returned a damaged guitar. Ben and I talked back and forth a few times before my calls went unreturned. My claim was denied and I was never refunded my insured and shipping charges. I'm beyond disgusted with the way this whole thing was handled. I feel cheated and stumped out of anything. UPS damaged a beautiful guitar and refused to make good on a legit claim. I will never ship anything through UPS nor will I accept anything from them. It's absolutely disgusting how this whole thing played out. read more

I have used this store for a variety of needs and have been extremely impressed with a young man named Ben. He has a pleasant personality and is very helpful with his suggestions. The store always meets my every need, from faxing, to shipping, to packing, to small purchases, in a very friendly manner. I could not recommend Ben or the store more highly. read more

This UPS store is the best ! The manager Ben has been nothing short of amazing. A very important package that I sent to Torrance Ca got lost but he was on top of it every step of the way. To make a long story short, the package was found a week later and all is well. An important point for everyone mailing anything is to have your package adequately insured. I've actually used this location numerous times and they are very good. I've sent pre-paid packages using them and used them previously for notary service. FYI but according to the actual UPS distribution center in San Ramon, these so called independent locations like this UPS Store do charge more for shipping as they are independently owned. Not a big deal if you don't mind spending a little bit more for convenience. The reason I finally decided to leave a review was due to the poor customer service provided by a young employee while trying to get a form notarized. When will young people realize that you have to provide at a minimum, good customer service. The young gal was trying to help out the guy in front of me and apparently although The UPS Store provides notary service, they are not a notary. She didn't sound really sure of this as she told the customer this so she had the owner review the customer's document. The owner said he would have to call corporate offices, which he did by walking away to use a phone. You would think that since I was next in line she would help me or even ask what I was there for. I would have told her that I was obviously in line to get a form notarized since I was holding a form and nothing else. Nope, she moved over to the register to help someone with mailing a package. So I had to wait around another 8-10 minutes for the owner to get off the phone and tell the previously mentioned customer that he could not help him. Then it was finally my turn. First she looked at the form and asked if there was a second form. Why would I give you just one form it there were more than one? Then she tells me that she can't notarize the form that I have. I explained to her that she needs to look at my identification and verify it's me and then notarize the form to say that she verified who I was. It's an affidavit Christ sake. How many people are going to have a form for your specific requirements? Any form can notarized; the notary attaches a form which they can notarize. Finally she calls the owner over and says she can't notarize the form. I have used this locations service before. The last time, a different employee gave me one of their forms to attach to my form, which they signed and stamped. The owner basically told this gal today to do the same thing, to use one of their forms and attach it. I assume since you are a notary that you've done this a few times. Is it that hard to figure this out or do you have to call the owner each time? Then the gal tells me said since I put my middle initial on the form but there was no middle initial on my driver's license, I would have to cross out my name twice and then re-write my name twice. Then she said that I would have to re-sign the form in her presence, which she told me I could do once I crossed out the previous signature. Really, don't you think the form was going to be messy and very unprofessional? Come-on, this is a form for a job. Why would you even suggest that. At that point, I told her I would like to re-print it so it would not be messy. She told me I could sent the form to the store's email and they would print it. Really? No, you don't need to know all that. All I wanted to do was get a form notarized. I walked out and I went to another location with a new form! Never will I use that this location for notary service if this same gal is there. Learn something about customer service. I was next in line so I should have been the next person you should have helped. Because the owner was on the phone you couldn't help me? Learn something about customer service...it will get you further in the long run when in the customer service field! If you have a pre-paid package to send, I would use this store. Maybe even the notary service but not when this young gal is there as it's apparent she can't function by herself. I'm not mentioning her name since it's not important; you'll figure it out. read more
