You really need to have longer conversations about exactly what you want and he was a bit preoccupied with another job when we talked. Just a bit casual in the way he works. First of all he didn't discuss paper quality or weight which most printers I have worked with would bring up during your consultation. Additionally we wanted to hard laminate bookmarks, which he tried to talk us out of. But what he didn't do, when he printed the bookmarks is trim them where the design clearly ended before laminating them (and it was not a hard lamination) so all of the bookmarks had a 1/2 inch at the top without design. The design very clearly showed where it stopped but he did not see it or the difference from the end of the design and the bleed. I guess that was something else we needed to be super clear with him about, something that most pros would catch. Finally, he printed our programs on a heavy glossy paper that was not necessary for a program for a memorial luncheon, which made them difficult to fold. I guess I will say, that if you are going to work with Jay, make sure you discuss every single aspect of what you want, paper type and weight, trimming, etc. for every aspect of your print job. In the end, we were able to use what was printed, the program and the bookmarks just weren't exactly what we wanted. Additionally, he asked us to reformat our files and then email them to him but didn't reach out until the next day to let us know that he did not receive the file. I will say once he had the files the work was done the next day.

This was the most bizarre and confrontational package pickup experience I've ever had. I got an email to pick it up from this location and to bring my photo ID, no mention of the tracking number. Right away the man behind the computer was furious when I presented my ID, I told him that my confirmation email said to bring ID and told me I should just go to UPS then. He then demanded a tracking number and said I was preventing paying customers from getting served. I found the tracking number and waited because he had made it seem like I was interrupting him, but then he yelled at me what was wrong with me got right in my face and yelled HELLO, give me the tracking number! I showed it to him on my phone and he yelled just to give him the last four digits, that I was useless. I was also wearing sunglasses, which he HATED and was yelling what are those? what do you think you're doing with those?! Which, I admit, really made me just want to keep them on because at that point I really didn't want to do anything that would potentially please him. I was dying to get out of there because I seriously just wanted my package and I wasn't expecting...to be confronted about it? Like, for why? I still don't understand why someone picking up a package is RAGE inducing. Eventually, an older man who worked there looked at the tracking number and found my package. He was normal and I wish I had just talked to him first. I have no idea why this store is a drop off point if they hate people picking up packages so much. I also am not sure if the rabid man behind the computer man hates women, hates something about me in particular, hates himself, or is possibly making up for certain below-the-belt biological inadequacy by screaming at a random person about something so inane ...there are so many unknowns. I just need 2 copies made from an original photo. Thats all. Color Images replies saying it was $5 and can be done while I wait. I replied to confirm and they said it was easy and to come on down. So I send my husband in the following day to drop off the picture. After dropping it off he calls me back and tells me how rude the guy at the counter was to him and just how complicated he made a simple task seem. He said the guy acted like it was just a huge inconvenience, asking several questions for what should be simple and self explanatory and complaining that they normally do larger jobs , blah blah blah. At the end of the day I hadn't heard back from them as promised to let me know it was ready. I was already on a time crunch, because I intended this picture as a gift to someone who was visiting so I stopped by to see if it was finished (4pm, drop off was 9am) and the guy said "Oh, I forgot, let me warm up the machine". About 10 min later I have the copies. Now remember, I specifically asked for a color print of a glossy photo and they specifically responded that they can provide this. What I got was AWFUL. It was a morphed, discolored, paper copy. Common sense dictates that if someone asks for a copy of a glossy photo then theyd get a glossy photo in return. Its was so terrible. I think he even tried to balance the color, which made it worse...... The original photo was taken is soft lighting but it came out like it was red..... I dont even know how to explain it other than it was absolute garbage. Like I said, maybe they do good work on large print jobs but this place had no business reaching out to me when I was specific about what I was looking for AND the guy who is at the service desk is rude and unprofessional. I dont care about the measly $5. I care that my time was wasted and that both my husband and I were treated poorly. Oh, and I had to ask for my card back because he didnt return it at the end of the task and yes, he forgot because he sent me on my way before giving it back. I drove straight to CVS and printed out a perfect glossy duplicate for under $1.00, self service, took 3 minutes, the picture wasnt damaged or bent like I had feared which is why I did not go in the first place and no drama.

[Selection]: The shop offers greeting cards, pens, notebooks, pen, pencils, gift wraps, etc. I like the greeting card selection a lot better at Shorthand, but I didn't see too many Valentine's Day cards. The shop was a lot more colorful than Crush & Touch as Shorthand organized pens and pencils by color. They also sell really neat hand drawn Highland Park and Eagle Rock maps. The shop also sells various colors of ribbon per yard and gift wrap. Each color of ribbon has a slightly different price. I am familiar with this brand's quality and fit. It is a "fan shirt" for a concert - so I wanted a feminine fit. What I picked up was unfortunately an XL in a different brand - it feels less quality that bella canvas, I'll have to get creative to make it fit how I imagined. I picked up on lunch in a rush and the concert is tomorrow. I'm gonna charge it to the game. A phone call asking for an alternative brand would have been appreciated. Secondly, there isnt really a nudge once complete. If I didn't call, there wasn't a way to know if it was ready for pick up.
