The customer service at this store was beyond disappointing. Not only did they misplace my mail multiple times, they have also now failed to follow up on the closure of my mailbox which has seemingly resulted in the loss of an important document that is going to be a nuisance to replace. If I could give ZERO stars I would. The store doesn't follow proper safety protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19. I watched the clerk help 5 customers ahead of me and not once did she sanitize her station, sanitize the customer pin pad, nor change her gloves. With all of the items clerks pass back and forth between customers a higher standard must be kept. Once I gave her my QR code for my Amazon return she printed the label and insisted that I took the receipt. I refused to take the receipt due to my aforementioned concerns about health and safety. She argued me down and I left the receipt on the counter. She then followed me out the store to continue to harass me about it demanding that it is "per policy". Well so should be better cleanliness for the protection of everyone. Don't come here. Make the longer trip to another safer and cleaner establishment. read more

Located in the El Cerrito Plaza shopping area, the UPS Store (formerly Mailboxes, Etc.) has been a staple in the area. The people working here are friendly and helpful. We've used the notary service many times and have always been given first-rate service. It can get busy so sometimes there is a little bit of a wait to get served but usually that has more to do with the customer not really knowing what they want or what the various options are for shipping, photocopying, etc. They also have mail boxes available which allows you access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using a special electronic key. Locally owned and operated, you can find the owner at the El Cerrito 4th of July celebration passing out American flags sometimes! So, despite the corporate backing behind the store, it's definitely got a local business feel to it with how they treat their customers and their community. read more

I ordered my package via Amazon Prime which in return shipped via UPS in this area instead of FedEx(wtf), and it's the 5th time that they "insisted they missed me at home and dropped the package off directly to Himalayan Grocery in El Cerrito"... 5 separate time for 5 separate packages!!! I called Amazon, they said they contacted UPS and someone will pick it up and re-deliver and a week passed nothing happened. I called UPS itself numeral times, and their generic answers are always "the system is doing this schedule, there is nothing we can do. But don't worry, drop off at any pickup location doesn't happen often as pickup stores are often full of packages." What a loaded crap. It wasn't a problem for other Amazon Prime packages for other residences here ever. Their packages get dropped off just fine. So I really don't fking know what is going on. I really hate UPS at the moment. You guys are terrible and impossible to get in contact with to resolve anything. read more

I have never experienced this much disrespect from the notary in El Cerrito Plaza. The worker was named Kajol, a nepali, who was very disrespectful and unwillingly to help a 81 year old. She speaks Hindi yet denies she does to help this old lady. The old lady put her hand together and begged her to help her with the notary because she was clueless and the Kajol lady was very heartless and only said "no." Kajol told the grandmother that she needed to speak english or Nepali. The next day, we went to a different UPS location that worker was very passionate and helped the old lady without any question. The difference in the worker's manner was shocking. I strongly recommend that the worker Kajol in the UPS store in El Cerrito require training to be more compassionate to the customers and get disciplined. She has taken advantage of her power in UPS and feels that she has the authority to be blatantly rude to a 81 year old lady. I hope she learns to respect others. This type of behavior is never ok. I had the most WONDERFUL customer service experience with Cora! It was busy but she never let that get in the way of her pleasant, perky demeanor. She treated each customer with care, even making a point to explain processes and procedures to each customer and brainstorm ideas when people had problems. I waited in line for a while and witnessed her kind, consistent, and efficient behaviors and was truly impressed. Once it was my turn, she kept up the excellent service. The most pleasant customer service experience that I've had in a LONG time. Cora CLEARLY loves her job, is knowledgeable, and likes working with people. Yikes -went here because FedEx's computers were down - big mistake. They took 10 days to deliver 3 day air, and from the tracking, it was clearly mostly ground if not all ground. I paid for air though and they wouldn't give me a refund. I called UPS (the company) and they told me that I had to go to the store, I went to the store, and they couldn't help me, I needed a special kind of manager. Needless to say, they just ignored me and I paid for something I didn't get. DON'T PATRONIZE THEM. They deserve to go out of business. Terrible customer service, terrible company. read more

Beware, if you write a truthful review the business will respond with lies! When you blatantly call them out for speaking rudely to you and call them out for employees that rudely speak ill of you to each other right in front of you, they will deny and imply you are lying! Fact of the matter is the majority of UPS Store locations provide customers with the option of quick drop-off without receipt, if none is desired. Some customers don't want a receipt to save paper. This location doesn't get it; you can't be rude to customers and expect good reviews. I encourage all others with bad experiences at this location to post their reviews of this location. Warning! If you have your UPS My Choice packages sent to this UPS store location, the delivery may be rejected. I had one package put on my porch instead...thankfully it wasn't stolen. The other package with badly needed medication kicked around on trucks for three days before being delivered to the UPS distribution center 10 miles away. i was just in your store where your employee was incredibly rude! i brought in an amazon package that needed to be returned and dipu (the worker) directed me to the wall behind me as if i understood what the hell any of that meant. he muttered something about a label assuming i didn't simply have the barcode on my phone. my pregnant wife (due any day) arrived in the store right after i received terrible customer service and another employee emerged, who was incredibly courtesy and knowledgeable about her job helped us with ease and we were out in seconds. i later returned to ask your unprofessional worker for his name and he snidely remarked "have a nice day" as i exited your store. read more

I was humiliated and embarrassed by the notary public yelling my mother who does not speak English as if by yelling at her she was going to understand him. I kept telling the notary public that she cannot respond because she does not speak English. He ignored me and was very rude to my mother and me. Two other UPS staff were standing behind the notary public and were laughing at my mother who was trying to understand the notary public. If it was not for my mother being with me, I would have given this punk what he deserves. He was lucky that I respect my mother and didn't want to create a scene. read more

I had the most lovely experience at this UPS store with the help of Alejandra. I arrived needing LiveScan fingerprinting, but quickly realized I'd left my documentation at home. Alejandra warmly explained my printing options with the fees required for each. She was cordial and polite throughout. As I waited, I consistently observed her greeting customers as they arrived with the same warmth and genuine care. As she completed my fingerprints, she remained aware of the movements of the store, while informing me of the steps to complete my transaction, yet continuing to greet arriving customers. Overall, the store displayed a consistent stream of customers, and each employee was similarly polite and competent. My 20-30 minute experience this morning was pleasant and quite encouraging to witness such excellent customer service in such difficult times in our world, our country, and our community. I looked up Live Scan locations. I was given this location. I came in and was helped fairly quickly. I tell the lady from the beginning that I already completed the paperwork and paid online. She says okay. Enters everything in the system from my LiveScan form and my CDL. She then says that will be $72. I remind her I paid online yesterday. She asks for the Token. I show her, as it clearly says show this when you arrive. She says it has to be printed. It does not say that on the email. She says you can pay to use the computer or you can email it, but you have to pay to send me the email. Say what! They want to nickel and dime people for nothing. Pay for an email of something that does not say it will need to be printed. I did not have time on my break to go home and print it and come back, so I have to schedule a whole other day to start this process again. I even said you see I have the token and it is paid for. Can you enter it in the system and do the fingerprints, and I can then bring the hard copy back after my next appointment. No. Why? Now we have to start this whole process of standing in line, filling in the information, and everything again. I hate businesses that are not accommodating to customers and surely hope the location on Meeker or the new location on San Pablo will soon have LiveScan. I have found the staff and owners at Meeker to be very customer service oriented and have no doubt they would've said yes. Let's do this and then bring it after your appointment or go ahead and email it to me. I am not surprised the reviews here are so terrible. read more

Would not recommend them for passport photos. Mine were rejected by passport office and they would not reshoot or refund.

How do you charge $1/page to scan documents? You just put them on a copy machine, and hit the scan button. How does the price go up one dollar for each page? Why does it cost $10 more to scan an 11 page document vs. a 1 page document? That's some awful pricing. I'll never come here for printing or scanning services again. read more

I really like this place. We've used the notary several times and have sent packages through them since they were on the other side of the Plaza. This location is much more convenient and can be accessed from the Plaza or from Fairmount. We can bring excess styrofoam packing material here to recycle it. I called earlier to see if they had a person that could notarize a letter for me. The person om the phone said yeah until 3pm. I said can I schedule an appointment. He told me that i didn't need to. I said okay. I drove 30 minutes down. When I got to the store, the lady told me that no one is there to notarize my letter. That the person that answered the phone shouldn't have answered the phone. It is such an inconvenience and unprofessional for someone that isn't supposed to answer the phone, answer the phone. read more

Not a fan of the service here, lately. There are unhappy employees here, and the rates for ground shipping are extremely high. It seems crazy to me that they can't automate their shipping labels and services better. UPS does not offer any customer service any more, and these franchise stores should offer more competitive rates. It's a shame that FedEx and UPS do not offer a solution competitive rates for one-off shipments any more. The services provided from these retail establishments do not justify the expense. read more

I had 11 large boxes to drop off. The gentlemen behind the counter was very nice and accommodating. He asked to see the amount of packages before he committed to letting me drop them off. They have limited space there. He said it would work and even let me use their hand truck. If you have many packages to drop off, check to make sure they can handle it. read more

Really impressed by the customer service. The 2 lady's and guy were extremely helpful not only to me and my daughter, but also went out of there way to help an older lady that had accidentally locked her key in her car. ( They called the police for her and made her feel comfortable waiting inside ). They also helped another senior , bringing out a chair while she waited in line. I was kind of taken aback by the goodness that was going on. Felt like some idolized American moment that we all strive for and in a UPS store of all places. read more

Quite frankly, the least helpful UPS store I've ever been to. You wait in line, even if you're just dropping off. They charge for EVERYTHING. Tape. Label enclosures. Mailers. Seriously - even if you have a prepaid label, you can't get out of there without paying for something. It's a scam. If you want to send something, go to the Post Office or a real UPS location. Avoid this store. It was an hour before close and they were busy, but that can't justify the unpleasant and downright rude attitude the clerk had. I waited for passport photos that ended up being taken with a just an everyday digital camera and when they were developed he showed me that the photo did not actually fit the dimensions required for passport photos...yet he charged me anyway. There are so many of these stores around, there is no reason to give your money to a place that is unprofessional and cannot properly deliver the services they advertise to provide. read more

We arrived at a very busy UPS store to have a notary done as well as a shipment of the notary. Not so bad I understand busy. The only qualified person had to go on a 10 minute break. We fill out paperwork and waited, then 10 minutes later she walks out. We were not in a rush so we walked around then returned and she had gone to lunch. Ups is pricey, but it's ok, the other gentleman qualified to perform the notary service made up for the busy store and it's services. Terrance and Barbara make up for it with their excellent customer service. They give it a four star and I would have given five had it not been for the initial lady asked to perform the service then went on break prolonging our time there, and again, they are pricey. $47.00 to ship documents across the US.
