With all the negative reviews I felt it was necessary to post my encounters. I have always had a positive experience, granted I follow the directions for my Amazon returns and have them packaged the way they need to be, but I have always found all the staff to be friendly, fast, and kind. I hardly have to wait in a line. So it is a quick smooth transaction. In my opinion, the service at this location is top notch, and I appreciate having a UPS drop off so close to our home. read more

I went to mail a package today and was told I was going to be charged extra because my package was in brown paper . I was quoted 36.00, told them no and went to a different UPS store and was quoted 13.65 . Wow what a difference, same day delivery, I Will never step foot in this UPS location again. Beware! Use the UPS store in Fenton instead. Fenton was willing to package and ship (the same item to the same place) for 30% less! UPS on Highland Rd charged me $40 more for the EXACT same service. The store owner, Dawn, is rude, condescending, lies about costs, and will laugh at you when you inquire about being overcharged. Please read on! They overcharge by sneaking in unnecessary costs. If you inquire about the cost difference, they will tell you that they have no control over how they package and ship their items, nor the associated costs. Which is a lie. Headquarters will tell you that this particular UPS store is not actually run by UPS, it is individually owned and operated, and therefore they have complete control over what they charge. When I called Dawn, the owner of the UPS on Highland Rd, to make a complaint regarding their pricing, the employee was rude and condescending, and told me that Dawn would call me back. When Dawn called me, she claimed to have called and spoken with the UPS store in Fenton herself to inquire about Fenton's pricing. Then Dawn proceeded to tell me that the store in Fenton gave her a quote of the same price as what she would've charged at her own store to ship my item. So, right after I ended the call with Dawn, I called the UPS store in Fenton to verify this information, and they said that they never spoke with anyone from the UPS on Highland Rd regarding price differences, and they maintained their quote for $40 cheaper. Dawn lied about the prices at her competitor's store to make her own prices seem fair. How do places like this even stay open? Again, beware! read more

Some improvement has been made over the past few months so I've bumped the rating up a couple of stars. The managers attitude has improved immensely and that is great to see. I'll be keeping an eye on things as I have visited other UPS Stores and have tried to avoid this one because of previous issues. The last couple of times I've been in this particular UPS Store I've been pleasantly surprised at the attitude change. As the Christmas holiday approaches I will let everyone know how things progress through the holidays and if things continue as they are, maybe we can boost the rating a bit more, time will tell. read more

I have had it with this store! I have been working with them since 2015 when they were supposed to print my wedding programs and I have never had a pleasant experience. I am in fundraising, people HAVE to like me or I can't do my job. The manager, I believe Dawn is her name, has never been anything but sincerely rude, covered up by fake nice. She has a small business and repeat business should be important. I mean, it's not me, she was just as rude to another customer while I was there - the lady printed 2 pages and got charged for 3 because one was bigger. Gimme a break, she made the woman feel stupid for not being able to count! I just paid $10 for a free amazon return just so that I could get out of the store, vent on FP, write this review and never return! She charged me $3 to put a piece of tape on a corner and called it assembly, and 7$ to use a computer for 2 minutes to print the label. My home printer is on the fritz and the library charges $.10. She gets paid by amazon to do my returns, I should not have to pay for tape and printing, or at least just pay for the printing. I am so pissed! I will never ever ever ever go back, and she will be losing business. She does not deserve to be IN business! I went there yesterday and was very relieved that someone else was at the register, but I forgot my phone so I was not able to provide the return code. You know the kind of person that talks down to you and makes you feel stupid no matter what. I will take my business to Kohl's, or UPS in Brighton or the Howell Grand River location. Short and pushy manager type said she would help me. After five minutes I asked another woman if she could simple scan my drop off which she did. As I was well within earshot before leaving the store the pushy one addressed the one who helped me ( and was probably told not to ) was berated with "THAT will Never happen again". Just sad about the service and the public humiliation. read more

I agree the girls are pretty much always snarky and rude. Def lack in good customer service. Experienced this multiple times. After this last visit I am definitely not using this location again and will be driving farther to use Brighton/Howell/Fenton! All those locations have MUCH nicer customer service. The only reason I'm giving this location 2 stars instead of just 1 is because at least my packages seem to make it to their destination. Note to the UPS ladies at this location: not everyone ships packages every day or month therefore not everyone knows all the steps or rules. Thats what your customers PAY YOU FOR. This place has been a mess since it changed ownership hands a couple of years ago. Used to be my go-to for shipping, I am now going to a competitor just a qtr mile away. Why? These guys are supposed to be the shipping experts, yet when you bring something in, they will ask, what size box do you want it to go in, do you want it packed , etc, etc. I just want it shipped, you tell me how it needs to be packed /boxed! Lots of other Passive-aggressive bs from these guys. More questions than answers from them every time. Learn the business or find something else to do. Last month they charged my wife $200+ to ship my golf clubs to me. Her bad, for not questioning why so high. I went to the competitor and asked how much they would have charged, they said $70! Today is the last straw. Wouldn't take one of my boxes that needed to be shipped, because the box was "wet". Box was slightly damp on the bottom, integrity of the box was still strong. I went to the competitor, showed them the box, they said "no prob". The competitor has 100% of my business going forward. Do yourself a favor and don't use the UPS store on M-59 in Hartland, mi. Go a qtr mile west and you will be glad you did. read more

As an update after I read the store owners response. In my opinion, the way to handle this would've been to say "hey sometimes Amazon requires you to have the item packed for returns and sometimes they don't.. I noticed they wanted it boxed and sealed. But don't worry, I got ya this time!" I had this item boxed already.. it just needed a 10" piece of tape on the top. You lost my business over a lousy piece of tape. read more

There is definitely a pattern of "nickel and diming" and rudeness here. I brought in two packages with prepaid UPS labels for drop off. The owner told me I could buy a roll of tape for $5 or she would charge me $3/package to tape them. I frequently use UPS locations all over Michigan and Ohio to ship items for my business. This is the ONLY location that has ever tried to charge me $3 for a piece of tape. When I asked why I should pay that absurd fee the owner whined that "UPS doesn't pay us for drop off service so she has to charge me something for her trouble". She clearly has no business background otherwise she would be familiar with the "loss leader" concept. Without offering drop off service she would lose 90% of traffic into her store and the opportunity to sell drop off customers other services she does make money on. On top of all of this she is VERY RUDE. Avoid this UPS location like the plague. read more

Went to the UPS Store in Hartland Mi. Need to be clear it's just a franchise. That makes a difference in the service for some reason. Was returning an item I ordered from Amazon and received from UPS. Because it was a belt clip attachment for a pistol magazine holster I couldn't ship it. Because it was associated with GUN'S! Scary guns! How did I even get it from UPS to begin with!?!. The woman showed me there policy and it clearly stated Fire Arms and Fire Arm Parts. A clip to a holster is not part of a fire arm. I think a lot of ignorance and a little anti second amendment feeling was involved in this. I won't be using this store again. read more

Very Rude and Disrespectful this is the second UPS store I've had issues with. I don't even know why you would Call it A UPS store when it has nothing to do with UPS, all I'm Saying is I'll keep Using UPS to ship but If I ever want to head to A Printing Fax store I'll stick with FEDEX OFFICE. Since moving to the area I've used this UPS store for all of my printing, copying and shipping needs but I can't do it anymore. The woman who's always there, I think her name is Dawn, has the worst customer service I've ever encountered. If this was only on one or two occasions, I would just chalk it up to her having an off day, but no, it's every single time. So condescending, so rude. She can't answer a small question without tone and attitude in her voice. She isn't trying to help anyone. Not to mention she overcharges for sorting documents. Recently I took my business right up the road and I'll say Gil at The One Stop Shop is not only courteous but goes out of his way to help. He even offered to call me back or make adjustments on his end to help with this big project. Normally I wouldn't feel the need to review a local business, no matter how terrible it is. But meeting Gil and getting his help when I was up to my eye balls, something needs to be said about his customer service. Don't waste your time or money at the UPS store just because it seems easier. Go with the smaller company who actually cares. read more
