I sell lots through EBAY and know the protocol pretty well. Recently, I sold a juice machine and took it right to these guys to get sent. The clerk was annoyed that I interrupted his discussion with his buddy and kind of a smart ass but promised to "take care of it " for me so I left it. a week later, I get an email and pictures of a well demolished juice machine and a call from UPS La Mesa that they weren't covering it , because the machine was "Improperly packaged" WTF? YOUR store did the packaging! I now have to pay for a full refund because of their incompetence. FUCK YOU UPS, I hope Obama doesn't bail you out when you go under for not treating people well read more

I had a problem with one of my shipments that was suppose to come to my apartment. It said it was delivered, but I never received the package. I called the customer service line and got no where with that. Then I went to The UPS Store in Spring Valley, just off the 125. I got terrible service there and was basically ignored. I came here to this location to see if someone else could help me. I was greeted by one of the two owners. At first, Debi(?) said that there was nothing I could do, but after over hearing our conversation, her husband came and greeted me. He helped me further by trying to get more information from one of the drivers. In the end, I lost the package and had to have another sent out, butter owner was so helpful and went out of his way to help me out. So glad I came up here, and will be more than happy to drive out of my way to give this store business next time. read more

I've only used this location for Notary services, but from my experience when I walk in the door, their customer is lousy. I feel the customer service at the post office is better than at this UPS Store. The person who does the notary services is new and inexperienced which can be very frustrating when you need a document notarized and they don't know what they're doing. Find another location to have a document notarized, because this place isn't worth the time. read more

The staff is extremely unprofessional, unresponsive, unethical and just foster an environment that is unenjoyable. When asked where a manager was, I was told "there are no managers".....clearly! I would not recommend this store for any personal or business needs, find a store and a staff that appreciate your business. read more

Unfortunately the staff here is very rude. The woman who helped me did not even make eye contact. I had a question and she completely ignored it and walked away. It looked like her supervisor was right next to her explaining something to somebody else, so customer service is probably not that important here. Blake is an absolutely unprofessional, passive aggressive child on a power trip. Do NOT take anything to him to get notarized. He refused to notarize a document that he had the customer sign. Unfortunately, the documents in question, which are one part of a many part State licensing application, will now have to be drawn up again, in another state. This is about a 2 week setback in our process. His reason for not notarizing? Because he didn't have the entire document- but he isn't supposed to because it's parsed out to multiple people to get notarized, depending on the person's role in the credentialing process. Even after I calmly explained this to him on the phone, he refuses to notarized it. Unbelievable and a complete waste of time, money, and energy for everyone involved. Grow up Blake. read more

It's UPS. The service itself is like any other UPS you'll go to. Rates are the same but the customer service could be better. It's not bad, just felt like the customers were the ones that were causing them to be so bland. I usually never ship UPS anyway unless I need to return my amazon packages haha! read more

This is the WORST place ever..The owner Debi was working, I asked to get a box to send my package b/c of its weird shape...She took the item, which ALREADY had 2 layers of bubble wrap on it, and she put it in a box and added some peanuts i guess..without ASKING ME FIRST...or telling the cost....I would expect a few dollars for the box...the cost a WHOPPING 18 dollars .....9 dollars for a box....A BOX!! 6 dollars for peanuts!!! I already had it wrapped it needed nothing..and then 4 bucks to do this service....what a JOKE!!! I think you might want to tell someone it will be 18 dollars in packaging next time, the box wasn't even big ( 24 x 16 X 5in) and once she comes out of the room, she overcharges me and nothing i can do about it now.....this PLACE IS A HUGE HUGE rip-off... Came in to make lost cat flyers. The owner was very helpful and didn't charge me for the flyers saying "he has cats too". It was so awesome and to top it off, after putting up a few flyers, we received a call that night from a near by neighbor that found and returned our cat!! I have been going here for years, but twice in the last two days I've felt like I've been ripped off. Yesterday I was charged $15 for a simple notary one page service. I also had them quote a box going to Italy: $600+$50 to pack! Needless to say I found another service but went back today to purchase the box they'd included in their quote. I was charged $14 for a box!! It was a large box 36x21 but still just a box. He tried to say it was weighted for 200 pounds, he knew I didn't need 200 pounds, why for the seven pounds of weight I am using, and trust me folks, this is NOT a heavy gauge moving type box. I'm all for paying a fair price, but I've moved and mailed many, many items, and this was not a fair price. Update, package wrapped, I didn't need half of the volume of this huge box. That tells me they were also gouging on the packing charges. read more

I go to this store all the time because it's near my house. I ship a lot of stuff for work and also ship stuff for personal. Right before Christmas I had to overnight my son's ID to him in the Bay Area because he was flying home and I thought he needed his ID. I paid $35 to ship it and on the day of his flight (2 days after scheduled delivery) find out the package didn't arrive yet. Turns out he didn't need it anyways but then I had the hassle of trying to get his dad to mail it back to me! I was busy with Christmas and New Years and then my fiancé left for deployment on the 15th. I went in to UPS last week on the 18th to ship a package to him on the ship and get my $35 back for the package that didn't arrive to my son. The guy that works there (I forget his name) is super cool and always helpful had to have the owner help me. She looked up my info and did see that my package didn't arrive as scheduled so said she would call me on Monday about the refund. I didn't hear from her Mon, Tues or Wed so I went in Thursday to ask about my refund. She obviously forgot to follow-up as she promised because she had to "check" again. She came out and told me I only had 15 days from the promised delivery date to claim a refund. Apparently she didn't know the policy since she had to check with UPS to find out what it was. After all the business I do with them she told me I was "too late". Maybe she should learn her own policies so she can inform the customers. Anyways, she was very rude about the whole thing and unprofessional for not calling me as she promised. So.....hope you're happy to keep my $35 because you'll never see another cent from me! read more

I'm a very recently retired (DEC2015) SFC from the Army. My daughter lives in Ohio. In October 2015, I bought her a new phone for her 15th B-Day. I opted to use UPS to ship the phone to her (I know why didn't I use the carrier company to just deliver it to her, another long story). I paid $86.05 to have an $809.99 iPhone 6S delivered to her the following day. I let me daughter know to expect it the next day. Her grandmother is always home and there was no worry of someone not being available to receive it. The next day my daughter calls me to tell me the phone hadn't arrived. I checked the UPS website to discover they said it had been delivered. I called the toll-free number and they said it had been delivered. I informed them it hadn't and after much persistence they finally agreed to look into the matter. I called them the next day and they had no status for me. I called the next day and again no status. The following day I called again and they said they hadn't made contact with the driver that delivered it. I was upset, as I wanted answers on my daughters new phone, as it was scheduled to automatically be activated in a few days and her old phone would be cut off. They finally had the local UPS in Ohio contact me, which I was then informed that the phone was delivered to the wrong address (now this bewilders me in the age of technology, I would expect that every UPS truck would have GPS and could not make this mistake) and they were attempting to recover it from the address they had delivered it to. They said that they are given eight days to attempt to recover the package. I waited the eight days (calling the local UPS in Ohio for a status daily). At the end of the eight days they said they would not be attempting to recover the package with the iPhone 6S plus and I could start my claim. I immediately called and emailed UPS. The UPS customer service center was of no help. The only thing they told me was that UPS would reimburse me for the phone and the full amount for the services that were not rendered. I received an email the next day sending a link to a website and the documents for me to file my claim. I filled out a claim and entered it into the UPS claim site, as per instructed. I called to find out the status of my claim daily, for about a week, to no avail. Finally they told me I needed to contact my local store (that I had mailed the package from). The local UPS store said they had seen my claim but hadn't acted on it because no one had contacted them from UPS customer service or myself. I didn't contact them because the customer service line didn't tell me to contact them. They said they would then process my claim and it would take about five days for the process to go through. Once again I called daily to find out if the check had arrived. I was called by the local UPS store and told that the check had arrived. I went to the store to be handed a check for $136.00. Debi (the owner) explained to me that $100 was the insurance on the phone and $36 was reimbursement for the shipping. Debi said she would file a new claim and made copies of all my receipts. This was in November. She then stated that they would start a new investigation, but because of the Holidays it would be tough getting a hold of the drivers. She never followed up with me as I had to contact her. In January I filed with the BBB and her response was that I needed to file with the Ohio store. I then emailed the CEO of UPS and his assistant contacted me the next day. The assistant informed me that I could only file through the local store, but also informed me that after October that Debi had not filed another claim. Today, February 29th 2016, I went to the UPS store to claim my $136 check (I had refused to accept it before). I talked to Debi, again, and she blatantly lied to my face, saying that she had made a claim on my behalf, and the assistant to the CEO of UPS didn't know what was going on. She then pulled out all the paperwork on my file. I looked at it and noticed it was just the receipts that she had previously made copies of. Debi and UPS has made this retired Soldier admit to defeat. They win, but I learned my lessons: -They are not responsible for ensuring that packages are delivered to the correct address. -No one in the organization will take ownership. -Passing me along to other people to deal with is accepted practice at UPS. -The automated systems thru out the company do not talk to each other. -Recording misinformation in automated notes is accepted practice, as well as not correcting misinformation. -Not following through with or keeping the customer informed is the norm. -The customer is not important. and most importantly -Not refunding the total amount ($86) for services that they failed to complete is acceptable. Essentially I paid UPS $50 to lose an $809 iPhone 6S. Thank you for ruining my daughter 15th B-Day. Thank you for showing me 'What Brown Can Do For Me.' read more

I went to this store today to try and get some posters mailed to my dad for his birthday. Being a typical millennial I rarely have to mail things so I rolled up my posters in a 25x2'' cardboard tube that I got at work. I paid $27 for it to be delivered by next friday (a week from now) and didn't think much of it since I apparently don't know any better. My mom looked at the receipt when she got home and commented that they charged me a $13.63 additional handling fee. I looked up the fee and came to realize it covers cylindrical items, like my tube. So... I could have put my tube in a box and I would have paid less, I wish someone would have brought that up. I realize that you are just trying to make money but I work retail, I recognize that a happy (and repeat) customer will bring in more profits than ripping off a teenager. So congratulations UPS, you have just conned a kid out of 3+ hours of pay! read more
