This review had been due for awhile. I just wanted to See for a few times before I write this review. I've been going to this UPS store my favorite. In my previous review I wrote about Evelyn who was very rude. But she has changed to be one of the best in Customer Service. Maybe she was taught how to do it the right way. The first time when I went in about a month and a half back she greeted and smiled and had a small chitchat. I was thinking not much of it. The second time I went she smiled and greeted as well. Today when I went in she was behind the counter she popped out of the counter and wished me good morning and also wished me to have a great day. That made my day. It's one of the best feeling to go into a store in the morning come out with that happy smiling face because you got the best customer service. The service is reasonable at this store but customer is right is not part of their operation. I always end up something extra, like when I return shipments to Amazon, they want bag it in extra box.. when they make you print and it doesn't look good you end up paying for the revised print... Jason at this store went above and beyond to help make sure a package was delivered to me by the UPS driver. Long story short I was not home to sign but they were not able to leave the package at the store so Jason called me and helped coordinate the driver dropping off the package again same day when I was home. Went in today 8/06/25 @12:32pm.... The person working was not helpful at all, I was trying to return a item but she pointed to the Kios with was not working at the time. The worker just watched me not moving at all and the other worker was busy with another client, other customers asked her why is not helping before she assisted. This UPS store is in a great location. The store is located in an outdoor mini mall with a Safeway, Peet's, Jamba Juice, a few restaurants, a liquor market & CVS. There is a large parking lot and you can usually get parking up front or worst case scenario a short walk away. This location is does not usually have a big line, most often I can walk in and straight up to the counter, which is great!! As for the employees; they are always friendly, helpful and efficient. Honestly this is my favorite UPS store location and it's awesome that it is so close to my house. read more

The owner is so difficult! Amazon gives us varying directions, sometimes they want the box seal other times they don't want the item in the box at all. The owner argues and pontificates about rules that don't apply to the various instructions from Amazon. I've been to many other UPS stores and they don't hassle us like this one does. Good for quick package drop off, not for Notary Services. Poor customer service for Notary Public services. I made an appointment for notary services but they weren't ready at the time of the appointment. I had to wait about 20-25 minutes until they were done helping all other customers dropping off packages (which was a lot - they were busy) until they helped me. I'm unclear why they take on-line appointments when it was clearly a lower priority, even with three people behind the counter. When I asked why I had to wait on the side while they helped everyone else, the person didn't seem that concerned about it. I've been using this place as my regular UPS spot several times a month for about 4+ years and it's definitely good for quick package drop-off. The staff are generally friendly and helpful but I think I'll look for another store. read more

I go to this place all the time and service is great! I was thinking about writing a great review about them. But there's this Hispanic lady (I'm sorry to identify her by her race) who brush her hair backwards- every time she's there her manner is curt and service is haphazard...The rest of the folks are super nice! She was soo rude to me today..Does she work on Wed evening?! I hope the management notices. She's a store manager or something. I hope management reads this review & coach her. Their quoted price included an extra $100 charge for insuring the value of my shipment without mentioning that it could be shipped without this extra insurance charge for around $15. There is a very rude manager named JP that works at this location . Although he was communicating a rule that impeded my ability to pick up an important package , he did so very matter of factly with little empathy and even with an attitude . this was at 9 am in the morning . One of the best UPS Store in Oakland. It's located next to a Peet's Coffee and a Safeway. The staff here were just excellent. Quick and always ready to provide phenomenal service. Fortunately for me, they're 10 minutes away from where I live so it's very convenient. Been here several times now and will definitely be using this location for all my UPS needs. Moved into the area , and great people and service here. It can get busy after 2pm. I have seen the line almost out the door. But you can tell they are hustling to try and get the line down. Workers are friendly, especially the Asian lady who I think is the manager. ( didn't get her name). This is the first UPS store that is being run the way I would run it. Accurate, excellent customer service, tastefully decorated, clean, safe (COVID safe), even the cards are cool! The folks working there are young and energetic but at the same time, super accurate and thoughtful. They always make sure I get a discount (like the AAA member one). Love them. If you want to go when there isn't a line, don't go after work because the line will be longest then. If you go on a Saturday, go early. Bonus - Peet's next door if you get a hankering for a coffee! And a liquor store on the other, in case you need to relax and eventually there will be a Jamba Juice there too. Nice to have a competent and fast shipping store so close to home! As I was pulling out of the store parking lot, Jacinto was headed to dump the trash and he saw me and yelled as i drove off ..."oh yeah thanks for that review yeah I saw that...." and he gave me this weird smirk. What a wack job! We will see how my mail services are impacted through the end of my agreement as his comment sounded like a promise of some sort of punishment he plans to inflict. His comments and the sarcastic threatening tone he used made me feel VERY uncomfortable and unsafe and I WILL be filing an official complaint at the highest level of the UPS Store/Mailbox Etc. franchisee management levels! NO customer, of ANY kind should ever experience this level of toxicity! #firejacinto or boycott #upsredwood Original Review: My experience at this UPS store location has been subpar. I opened a box there when they first opened in summer 2020 and have patiently dealt with the constant long lines and lack of genuine customer service. However, two incidents have peaked my concern: #1 The store manager, Jacinto, relayed to me when I inquired about the boarding up of the store windows that they had been the target of "protestors" and as a result was going to put a "Black Lives Matter" sign in their window ONLY to hopefully deter would be vandals and NOT in the authentic interest of the cause the sign represents. #2 I received notification that two packages from Amazon were delivered to my box, however, upon my arrival to pick them up, my packages could not be found and Jacinto impatiently brushed me off and told me him and his staff were "too busy" to look into it (though there was only one other customer in the store at the time, a white male) and I should "just call Amazon because the UPS store is not responsible for for lost or damaged packages per my box agreement". Talk about the lack of concern or empathy for a paying customer! So, I called Amazon just to be sure, because hey, anything can happen in the world of shipping these days. I spoke to an Amazon rep while still in the UPS store and he verified that the packages had been delivered this day and a UPS Store employee named "Jason" received the delivery. Upon my relaying the information to Jacinto and inquiring about the worker named "Jason" - Jacinto became hesitant to confirm whether Jason was an employee. He eventually did then told me "I'll look into and get back to you tomorrow thank you for coming in goodbye" as if to dismiss me! There was no kind of acknowledgement like a normal human being. He could've said something like "hmm ma'am, this is strange because we do have a Jason here but no more packages scanned in for you at this time. Can you give me some time to research this? Let me talk to Jason tomorrow and see what may have happened. I'm sorry for the inconvenience and the wasted trip. May I get back to you tomorrow when I have more information so you don't make another unnecessary trip. Again my apologies". IT COULD HAVE BEEN THAT SIMPLE. But politeness and kindness are not in this guy's repertoire - and according to some of the other reviews, this is not just MY experience! He also berates and belittles employees, which I have also witnessed. It's his attitude and his tone, which is short, curt and sprinkled with sarcastic, condescending annoyance. He must have a family tie to this store because I don't know how he gets away with treating employees and customers this way! I've noticed him treat other customers in a rude manner, particularly black females while at the same time I've witnessed him go out of his way to be cordial to white, male customers. Yes, I've stood in line long enough over the past several months to witness many of his interactions with customers and staff. Granted, they are busy, but there is no excuse for his lack of professionalism. After this horrible interaction, I asked Jacinto for his supervisors' contact information and he brushed me off again stating with a scowl, "I'll let her know thanks for coming in goodbye". He did tell me her name was "Shirley" and then said with an eye roll "only I can contact her". Here's the deal: If you are looking to have your personal and business needs met in a nice, professional, welcoming, organized manner, I highly suggest looking elsewhere. Life is too short and commerce choices too aplenty to be subjected to such low class behavior by a disgruntled, immature being calling himself Jacinto. And on top of that, the store in its current state is overcrowded (line is usually out of the door and no systems are in place to streamline the handling of transaction types...I often wait 15 mins or more just to pick up a package) and the staff, namely Jacinto, is rude to customers, particularly of the non-caucasian kind! I had to go in to ship off some packages on Friday morning. There were two people ahead of me. The person at the front of the line was a complete Karen. She had a ton of shoes that she was returning, it was such a disorganized mess and she was clearly not ready to do this at all. All the while Karen was on the phone complaining to another company and actually said, "I'd like to speak to your manager" to the person in the phone. Kim, was the poor girl behind the counter who had to deal with this person. Kim handled this woman beautifully. The person kept ordering Kim around trying to tell her how to do her job. Kim didn't falter at all. She smiled and took all of the this woman's crap. Karen finally left and the line was moving again! It was my turn and I had several packages to ship. Kim was amazing! She found me the best prices for what I needed. She was friendly and very engaging. I'm sorry she had to deal with a Karen, but I was so happy to work with her! Great job, Kim!! read more
