Went recently usually pretty good in there and quick but I think the manager was a bit rude to me. I showed up with my package not closed with tape since I didn't have any and last time they closed it for me with no comment or questioned. The lady then said come on you guys gotta close your package before if you need tape you can buy some here and tapped on where the tape was and all I said was ok and walked out but I thought it was rude of her to say it the way she did. The usually do good job here but I had a frustrating experience here lately. Lost a whole day wondering the streets and looking for my flash drive when it was in fact sitting in their UPS store. They did not call me and I was not able to go on my international trip. I called the store and asked if my flash drive was there. The person said it was NOT. I asked her to call urgently the employee who handled my flash drive and did not pull it out of the computer and to ask him if he had the stick by chance. She did not call him. I asked that the manager call me first thing in the morning. Manager arrived in office but did NOT call. Only when I went there , did the manager looked in the drawer and told me first that there was no flash drive again. I was ready to leave as she pulled my flash drive and I finally luckily got it. But the fact they did not care for customer when it was explained it was an urgent situation and international trip depended on this was frustrating. Did not bother to call me. This has been my preferred UPS store, however the recent experiences have not been great, and I think they're something to keep in mind especially if you waiting for a high value item. I placed an order with a retail company and selected this UPS as the delivery location as I've done numerous times before. The shipment was delivered and I went to pick it up within about 3 hours of delivery. When I arrived they initially said they didn't have the package but I informed them that tracking said otherwise. Then the woman realized they did have it and in fact they gave the package to another customer earlier that day with the same first name, different last name. So are they not paying attention to the IDs they ask for? Luckily the customer was honest and brought it back. I then got a lecture because it was delivered as if I had a PO Box instead of an access point delivery. I understand the issue, but the company that shipped it made the mistake, not me. The value of this package was $1500+ so the fact that they gave it to another customer is very concerning, and if that customer was not so honest and kept it and I showed up later, then what? I've also had a few instances of having multiple packages shipped here and when I arrived they just grab the first one they see and say the other packages aren't there. When I ask to double check, and there have even been times I can see there's another package with my name they just say "oh." I understand that they deal with a high number of packages/customers everyday and to them it's just another package, but for me as a customer it's something that I have already paid for. If I contact the retail company later and tell them the package was not there, they're going to say it's been delivered and it's going to be an issue getting a refund/replacement. The other day I went to pick up something that had been delivered that same day and the woman at the counter kept arguing saying they didn't have it and another customer happened to spot it on the counter. Then last week I went to pick up another package that they claimed they didn't have (even though tracking said they did) and the next day it showed being returned to sender. Cmon, really? It's frustrating because I started having packages delivered here as I thought it would be safer than having packages left outside my door. I'm not so sure anymore. Guess I'll take my chances with packages being sent to my house again. read more

I visit this location frequently. It's my neighborhood ups store. The staff is courteous, insightful, warm, and helpful. The " supervisor" is not. The " supervisor" doesn't take direction or criticism well. At all. I came in for my usual coil binding ( I've done roughly 50 in the past two years ). It was January 3, 2023, around 530 pm. I politely suggested that he check them to ensure the middle of the pages as you turn through them don't clump, preventing page turning. I wasn't aggressive. I wasn't unkind. I spoke in a humble tone. His response to me " there's a chart that tells me, so...I know what I'm doing. ". So I responded and said the only reason I mentioned it is that they've had to redo a few due to that problem... his response was, " I'm THE supervisor, I train everyone here," IN A DEFENSIVE TONE .....my response...okay, It was no insult to your leadership. I'm letting you know I've had to have a few redone, that is all. I get that you're busy. I understand we all have bad days, and I also understand that if you provide a service, you need to be open to feedback and not take offense. I will return to have more of these done in the future as long as they provide this service because it's one of the better stores. But since he thinks his methods and trainees are infallible and error-free, I will undoubtedly start to keep every receipt and memorize every employee's name, as this would assist him in knowing who needs more training under his perfect supervision. (I'm being facetious) but seriously, lighten up, dude. I will continue to go to this location because 99% of my experiences have been positive with every other employee. If he was having a bad day...I hope the evening turned out for the good. If I'm being too sensitive, I genuinely apologize. Pls make sure you review your bill. When I went to the store to send a box containing clothes, I clearly said that the total cost of the clothes was $50. The employee tried to do this but, unfortunately, she didn't understand " cost per unit" so she wrote down 3 sweaters for $20 but in reality each sweater was an unit so the 3 sweaters cost $60 instead of $20; she made the same mistake with pants and blouses. When the box got to Canada, my sister was charged taxes ($63.02) because the total of the items was $120 instead of $50. If she had written the correct description of the items for a total of $50, my sister would not have had to pay taxes. The manager was terrible. When I explained to him the mistake, he told me to call Canada and deal with them. read more

My husband and I are driving back home after our experience with this store. We walked in around 5:10 this evening to find out from Judy that they were only accepting drop offs. My husband and I told her no worries, we can always come back tomorrow when Judy said she would still be happy to help us but the package wouldn't go out until tomorrow. While we were almost done, her supervisor came in and yelled at her in front of us saying they are closed. When on the tv screen next to her indicated that they are open until 6:30pm as well as Yelp. He continued to embarrass her in front of us when my husband and I grabbed our things and left. Kudos to Judy for going above and beyond while keeping her composure. The people who work here are morons. I took an oversized Amazon package to them for return and they sent it back to me, delaying the return of my money. The first time they said it needed to be repackaged and so I paid them $19.20 to do so. They then shipped it back to me. When I took it back to their store, they again told me it needed to be repackaged and said the price would be very high if I had them do it. So I took it home again, put it in a huge box, took it to the store again and they finally took it. So much wasted time and money, especially since I am in my mid seventies and handicapped! read more

I just had the most awful experience on the phone with J.P. His customer service skills are abysmal and I recommend he gets trained how to approach customers without his short temper and rude impatience. I had found some tourists items (dumped after being stolen from a car) behind Buckhalter Park. I was able to contact the owners thru their travel agent from an travel itinerary. They asked me to ship the items back through ups. All they had to do was contact ups with address and payment. For some reason J.P. thought this was fraudulent (my old lady personality maybe?). I was treated so poorly I was shaking after the way he spoke to me. Addition: After the store owners response I noticed that their response to all complaints essentially blames the customers. I wanted to know how to send the packages. That is all. I did not disagree with policy. I simply wanted to know what was the policy, what were the steps needed.. Unfortunately, I visited this store today with a chip on my shoulder. I was upset because, two weeks ago, I sent gifts to my grandchildren in Oklahoma City thru the U. S. Postal Service (USPS) -- but only an EMPTY box was delivered. The contents didn't fall out by accident; they were STOLEN by someone in the postal chain. Scared to use the USPS again, I went to this store. Sadly, still feeling burned by the USPS, I soon lost my temper and stormed out, but not before doing something GROSSLY disrespectful -- I flung money at them. Later, after cooling down and realizing that my anger was misplaced, I returned to apologize. What's significant is that at NO time did JP and Judy, who assisted me, lose their professionalism. If anything, they became MORE professional -- kind, patient, understanding. Instead of being treated like an irate customer, which I WAS, I was given the benefit of the doubt and extended the highest courtesy. I'm deeply ashamed of my inexcusable behavior, but they told me that they UNDERSTOOD how I felt, and I could tell that they were genuine. I was deeply touched. My gifts are now on their way to my grandchildren because of these two exemplary customer service representatives. This wasn't just service, it was GREAT service. Horrible experience today with the owner/manager "JP". I have been coming here for years and supporting this business. Today was the first time I dealt with owner/manager. First he was 3 min late opening the store, which is fine, but the issue started there and kept on snow balling. As soon as he saw me waiting, not a hello or a welcome. He asked if I was dropping off a package and I said no, I am sending a letter. I asked him if he wanted my phone # because I was a regular customer, and my data is in the system. He said no to my phone #. What is the zip code you are sending your letter to? I gave him the zip code and said I want the cheapest method to send my letter and its not time sensitive. He proceeded to tell me the cheapest is not the secured method. He was rude, unpleasant, and I asked him if he was the owner? He said no he was the manager and his name was JP. I asked him who the owner was, he said he did not know. I proceeded to tell him each UPS is privately owned. He told me he is refusing service to me. I told him I am going to write a bad review because he was rudest person I had ever encountered at this pace of business that I frequented. He started screaming that I was the problem and why business close in Oakland. He admitted he was the owner and a liar. I walked out of his business and he has lost my business forever. Highly recommend never going to this ups store. Never giving this business owner your hard earned money. He deserves nothing but mental health therapy. read more
