I have always received excellent service from the folks here. I have used them for notary services and especially for any shipping I need done. Once a year I ship out my homemade jam and it's not easy. However, they know just how to send it and are very careful with the addresses. Everyone that receives it says it is carefully packed. In addition, they have taken ownership with any problems that can come up with addresses. Jay has followed up several times with one difficult shipment. I stopped by to send a very small very light package (jewelry box with in expensive earrings). I was seen after a very long wait & then told it would cost almost $33 to send by US mail! I was surprised, then took the package to the post office and sent it, including insurance up to $100, per USPS for a coast of under ten dollars (nine & some change). We have been customers at this particular UPS store for many years. In fact, this is the third owner that we have worked with. Jay and his crew are simply wonderful. They always say hello, and they go the extra mile to help, often assisting me with heavy (or numerous) packages without my having to ask. If a package is misplaced, they find it. If a package arrives that is marked perishable they call immediately. While it's true that this is a business, I really feel that we are treated as family. I would not hesitate to recommend that this is a very safe place for your packages and all your mailing needs. It is so nice to have a UPS that feels like it is part of the neighborhood rather than just a Postal Service. read more

This is my local UPS Store, and I frequent it often for Amazon returns. I have always had professional and friendly service from the various staff. They are also open earlier and on Sundays which is a plus in my books. Jay is the man. He helped me with a same-day printing request (a tiny job, it only cost $13), and really took the time to give me white glove treatment. He even offered higher weight card stock from the back of the store versus what was listed on the ups website. He's clearly an expert on printing and could explain to me in detail the different types of paper weights and print quality available. Will definitely be going back for my printing needs read more

This place has turned super chaotic since they started taking amazon returns. Combine that with Covid and it's looking like a warehouse of unloved unwanted items near the end of the day. Plus side is that they always have a notary so if you need a quick notarization this place has one! Downside is that when someone is getting something notarized, they're one staff member short so the line immediately backs up. The store space is ridiculously small so it gets congested really quick. Their computers are super slow so getting a quote or shipping something can take awhile. Staff aren't overtly friendly but they're competent. Make sure to read the amazon return instructions since sometimes they refuse to take things even though it states something along the lines of "no need to box drop off at UPS!" I've had staff refuse my returns due to not being in a box. read more

I've been here numerous times. There's a middle eastern or Indian guy who's always super nice, hence the 4 stars. However, this time there was this older Asian lady there who was rude about my label not being printed even though the instructions literally said "The UPS Store associate will scan the return code and print the label." She was so adamant that she was right and that "it's always been that way" it totally killed the customer experience. Yay to the other dude, who deserves a promotion or raise. read more

The customer service has improved, they greet every customer that walks in and attend to them. I was there for a notary service, and needed to print out the documents for the notary. Typically it's $1 per page for printing at every UPS I have been to. However, the owner (I believe) told me that she will charge $1.99 per 10 min for computer use, plus the printing cost. I told her that I never got additional charges for a print job at any other UPS. I didn't even touch their computer. I only needed them to print out the pages. She said her UPS store has different franchise rules!! If you need to print a shipping label or any document for notary, just know that this particular UPS will charge you a fee for computer use (even you won't use their computer)! P.S. The notary at this UPS store charges $15 notary fee PER signature, not per person or page. We had multiple signatures on a page and got charged close to $90 for everything!! read more

Came in to drop off some amazon returns and they were fairly busy. Despite having a lot of folks they seemed to have their operation down smooth and had stickers in the store to ensure people were properly socially distancing. Kind of a small space so not a lot of people can be in there at once but they seemed really speedy and all wore masks (but not gloves). read more

Wow, the " manager" this 4/27 clearly had a bad day and decided to let his customers know. I've been verbally trashed, UPS compliance you should investigate and resolve this, it was disrespectful and borderline. My Amazon return wasn't matching UPS standard for packaging, when out of the blue one UPS employee said out loud "I wouldn't take this trash bag, half ripped"..... I was speechless for a second, ok the parcel wasn't boxed but it was one of those soft pkg Amazon is using. The guy just had a bad day. When I told him he cannot talk to customers like that he ironically said "I'm the manager".... What??????? So my fellow Palo Alto neighbors, I would encourage you to change shop, the "manager" clearly think the "customers" are trash. What do you think UPS? Manager of the month? read more

One note of caution: Bring in printed paperwork if you have Amazon returns. If you try to pull it up on your phone, it could take forever. IDK what is the issue there. Ive gone back and forth on this location. Early on in its tenure we had a rough experience with their notary service and shied away for some time. But, given the convenience of its location, it was inevitable that we would cross paths again, and so we have..... I have to say from my experience they have provided excellent customer service when we have used them: First the UPS drop off. When we have to return something to say Amazon, its just super quick and convenient. Drop off the package and go. Always get a friendly hello and thank you from the staff. Never had a package not get picked up etc. Shipping. Look rates are going to suck even at the USPS. if you have to ship, they also make it easy. I have not tried the packing service, rather I prefer to pack and label myself. Like at the Post Office it does take time. Fingerprints: Thanks to or utterly useless Board of Registered Nursing we had to get our fingerprints rescanned. (They already had a set, but wanted a different format). The live Scan process was quick, and the person doing the scan made sure each print was of good quality. That last part is key: Its submitted electronically so if one is bad you hear about weeks later and have to go through the process again. Its Midtown location means that parking is either okay or it sucks. Its also a small store so if there are lots of people in front of you then you are going to have to wait unless its a simple drop off. read more

Go somewhere else. Anywhere else. I attempted to return an Amazon product here that had a severely damaged shipping box during delivery by UPS. The box was so damaged I didn't open it. It was still taped up. The UPS staff here refused to ship it unless they charged me for a roll of packing tape to tape up the box. They cited UPS liability, despite the Amazon Return QR code I gave them that indicates the shipping box had been severely damaged by UPS in transit and was unopened. UPS already had full liability for the shipment due to servely damaging the shipping box. That was lost on the UPS staff who didn't even ask me before attempting to charge me for the packing tape. I've only had a few experiences with this UPS store but the few haven't been pleasant. The current workers are racist toward only African Americans. On multiple occasions have I paid extra amounts of money to have a parcel sent on a certain date to only have my package either " lost " or somehow out of the system after a few days. What happens is they set aside certain packages to not be shipped when they're supposed to or they're thrown out. Either way it's not cool whatsoever. Wow are these folks picky! The Soup Nazi has changed his game and can be found at this location. Now though it's NO TAPE FOR YOU! This week I brought in a "customer to provide packing Amazon return." Usually I'm pretty good about packing everything and had all the original packing materials so it was well packed. However I neglected to tape up the top flaps of the box. This would have required 3 pieces/or about 9 inches of packing tape. Well I was immediate told you have to buy a roll of tape for something like $3-$4 bucks instead of them taking the tape gun on the counter and slapping a few measly pieces on there to close the top flap. Now I get it - customers probably show up al the time with poorly packed materials but that wasn't the case here. You'd think a simple "well make sure it's taped up next time" and the store taking a few seconds and maybe .00003 cents worth of tape to complete the job would have been the courteous thing to do, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NO TAPE FOR YOU! That's a bridge too far for these folks. Instead I had to drive back home slap the 3 pieces of tape on there and make a second trip to the store. Mister Store Manager - was it really worth it? Turning away a customer over such a petty item. With that kind of attitude you won't be in business for long. My advice - skip this location and find another UPS store. What an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. I submitted a print request for flyers that I need for an event on 4/26. The receipt had confirmed that it would be ready for pick up the next day. When I went in to pick up today, not only was my order not completed, the employees seemed to not even have a clue to what print requests they had received. This is until they logged into their system to check their queue and found my name. I paid $13 for a colored design to be printed on card stock/postcard material paper. Tell me why the employees decided to print it out on regular printer paper on spot?...Not to mention the employee messed up on the paper orientation which I had noted in my original print request as well as the color of the design. The colors came out completely different than what my proof was submitted... The employees did not offer any sort of apology or any solution at the very least. I had to request myself for a refund at this point. I'm not asking for the employees to be passionate or enthusiastic about their jobs. I don't even need them to be "nice" to me...but at least deliver on the bare minimum of getting the requests completed and provide the promised product that customers paid for. read more

I didn't know an email sent to them would cost $2.99 just to send them an email and $.30 just to print it. I am loath to write a terrible review here. Businesses can make mistakes and usually I am satisfied if they can rectify the situation with a pleasant attitude. Unfortunately, this is not the case when my package was lost. While individual staff have been helpful, service by the manager exhibited multiple mistakes and was unhelpful and unpleasant. The manager: 1) Made typo in the address number when entering it in the computer. 2) Did not have me review the data entered (where I could catch the error). 3) Gave me the wrong receipt for the package. The package was delivered incorrectly and I was directed to the store. I spoke to the manager directly, who took little initiative to address my concern. I expressed my displeasure with the poor level of service he provided. Eventually, he agreed to put a trace on the package and said he would call with an update. He was unhelpful and unapologetic. Things continued downhill: 1) No return phone calls were made. Instead, I had to repeatedly follow-up. 2) The manager was unavailable whenever I called or went to see him. Clearly, he was avoiding me. I have not been able to speak to him since my original return visit. 3) I made numerous phone calls to UPS Customer Service; all who were helpful, but told me the eventual resolution, resided with the store. 4) Eventually a check for the lost package was issued and I was told I had to pick it up. I tried. The staff could not find the check, nor did they call me back. Finally, it was mailed to me, months after the package was lost. The mistakes and lack of any reasonable customer service were simply terrible and unacceptable. I will not use their service again and caution others to consider other places that care about you and your business. read more

Quick, easy , no line to send off a package to New Jersey, I think the process Was so simple. Walk in , hand package, weigh, and pay. Lady was friendly. When I asked how much for 3 day delivery , she said $52!!!! So insanely more. I am sure US postal service was cheaper, but not as convenient. This place is nestled in a small strip mall in midtown Palo Alto , right next to Baskin robins, so if you want to get ice cream, it's a great location. If you have time , go to post office! I have used the Notary and fax services of this store for many years and found the service to be excellent. This year, the store changed owners/franchisees, and not only was the manager/owner abrupt and rude, the fax I asked them to send did not go through, even though the owner claimed that it did and charged me for it.
