I went into this location today meeting to fax some very important documentation to a government agency. I was assisted by a young man by the name of Michael. He was incredibly professional efficient and courteous. I also had a package to send out for a friend who had sent me a shipping label and he walked me through the process of logging in to their computer to access and print the shipping label that had been sent to me. I had the worst experience at this location. I had the unfortunate experience dealing with Shawn the store owner. I came into the Ups store and had several packages and the store had a mini rush and Shawn got overwhelmed and lost my package and double scanned one package. Shawn scanned all my packages and when I was about to leave he told me to hold on because he wasn't able to locate one of the packages. He had me in the store for 45 mins while he had all of his employees looking for my package he scanned. He flat out said to me that you didn't bring this package in the store. I was not sure how he was able to come to this conclusion. He provided me a Ups drop off receipt that showed my tracking number. I also had my url code that he had scanned to do the return and still he had the audacity to say that I did not bring the package into the store. I asked him to look at the surveillance cameras so that way he can see that I did bring the package in. He said he wouldn't and that I was lying. He started to get loud and he was using foul language and I was threatened by his abusive in front of other customer's in the store. I had no other option but to call the police. After I called the police they instructed me to go outside and wait for them and stay away from Shawn. I did exactly what the police told me. I went outside and waited for them and I have a video of him coming outside being nasty and aggressive and I flat out told him that I didn't want to talk to him because of his behavior. He then walked away yelling and screaming and gave me the finger. I would not recommend anyone in the local area to deal with him or this location. Times are difficult these days with COVID-19 and I all I wanted to do was to drop off my packages and be on my way. I contacted Ups head office and they had told me that Ups would take action in there own way. If there was a option to upload the video I made at the store I would to show hi behavior. Also I would give a -5 star rating on the level of customer service and experience. Called once for a question regarding passport photos-- was rudely spoken to by the manager and hung up on. Stopped in to ship a couple packages and again, similar lack of professionalism from the manager. It's laughable how disrespectful a person can be when it would take just as much effort to be kind. Wow, great store!! Compared to the UPS places in San Leandro --one with abysmal service at Bayfair; one nr Estudillo hat reeks permanently of stale cigarettes from the chain smoking owner --this place is an oasis in the desert, and worth the trip to Pleasanton! I walked in, the lovely lady immediately greeted me with a smile, made eye contact, offered to help send the package i had, told me prices (amazingly low) for notary and passport photos. Now, once upon a time, this was standard, but nowadays, to receive this kind of excellent help is exceptional!! (Compare this to the UPS Bayfair in San Leandro, where "help" is defined as a frowning store clerk slapping a packing address on a table, while never once looking or saying anything to a customer.) I have to say shipping boxes or packages isn't exciting or fun but the manager at this location has got to be the most accommodating, pleasant and helpful person of any place that I have been to. Jhon and Baktash, are very friendly and work hard to process customer's requests fast as possible. It get really busy and people get impatient, but these two try very hard to full full the needs. I went in there simply to return an amazon package. I had the package together, just needed them to tape it up, scan my code, and let it be on its way back. First off, the guy was rude off the bat. I have been there multiple times and NEVER seen this older guy. It is always two young women who are generally pretty nice. He is helping another guy, which is fine, I am in no rush. But another woman comes in and she is waiting behind me. I guess he got flustered and pointed at me saying "Amazon return?" to which I said yes, "can you close it?" to which I said I believe so and tried to. It would close, but needed a bit of help to keep it close. Guy does not help, but runs back and forth behind the desk. Then when he sees the package, which is now closed, he says, "No, I have to charge you $10 because that is not acceptable." Acceptable? I ask. What do you mean? It is an amazon box that if you tape will stay closed. "No, I have to charge you $10." At this point, he has already scanned my code. I leave because there is a 5 star UPS store by my house of a lovely couple that are super friendly and nice. They closed the box for me WITHOUT CHARGING ME WITH NO PROBLEMS! If you go to this store, stay away from that asshole of a man and work with the women. This was at 5:15pm, a good hour and 15 minutes before closing. He mentioned he was there because he lost everything. I wonder if he lost everything because of how he treats certain people in that manner...... read more

the folks at this store are always friendly and responsive.recently sent an item i spent at least ten hours restoring as a gift for a friend. i took extra measures to protect the item. used peanuts, bubble wrap and finally foam rubber to totally wrap the item. UPS still managed to break part of the item. my wife used to work for UPS and said that the way packages are tossed around she is not surprised to hear it was damaged. when you create something or restore an existing item it means a lot more than just walking into a store and purchasing an item retail. whats my point? buy insurance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

The first caution is that all The UPS Stores are individually owned and prices are not the same in each store. At this store I called and asked what the charges are for notary, faxing and mailing a document to me. I was quoted specific charges. I was surprised when I received the receipt for the servcies. There was an additional $10.00 charge for folding two pieces of paper and mailing it to me. I had already been charged additional fees for the envelope and the postage. Beware of hidden additional charges which you may not be aware of. Most other UPS Stores do not have this hidden charge. I was told Sean is the owner of the store. Thanks Sean. read more

Always always always 100% trying to sell their packaging materials by picking on your packages! Every time I come here to drop off my Amazon return box, they always pick on my ( and others' ) packages and try to charge additional $2 to put on an extra layer of tape because "you didn't tape it right" and "UPS will not take it. " How do I know it's BS? Because when I take the same packages to another UPS store I never have any problem! And even if my taping wasn't to ideal, any other UPS store never have problems putting a layer of boxing tape on it. To avoid being a soft target and the profit center for wrongful business practice, stop coming here and give them business!!! Hopefully when UPS sees their volume not matching with other store someone will peak under the hood and get on to their behavior. read more

Not one to complain, but I had a horrible experience at the Santa Rita UPS store. I believe I was dealing with the owner of this store, who had a horrible attitude, very condescending and the service I received was one of the worst experiences I have ever encountered, especially in Pleasanton as almost all my dealings have been positive. I purposely didn't tape the end of a small package closed because I was not sure if they wanted to see the contents, before mailing it back to Amazon as this was a return. This person had the audacity to tell the other patron who was being helped by another employee about how he can't stand it when he needs to provide tape to customers as this is a daily occurrence. Why he elected to behave in this manner is perplexing as I have never encountered behavior like this before. Going into the store, I was more than willing to pay extra for the tape so I could seal up my package, but he never gave me the option, furthermore he didn't have the courtesy to address me, he expressed his opinion to the entire store by telling the other patron and everyone else in the store how he felt. In my opinion, he is so unprofessional and just shows a lack of tact and a severe case of no customer focus. I was floored and couldn't believe what I was hearing, I took my receipt and left really sad and disappointed that this had transpired especially for a small business. After this encounter, I will never visit this store again even though I live a short distance away. Based on this, I think this owner forget that as consumers, we have choices and that paying customers pay their bills. It is a sad state when the owner displays this behavior as acceptable in front of his employees (pathetic). Stay away from this store especially this owner. Sean is the rudest guy I've ever dealt with. I called last week Friday to confirm if my package was there and he rudely said he was busy and didn't have time to check. Then today I went to go pick up my package which first the sales girl couldn't find and said they don't have it. I showed her the tracking that clearly stated it was there and after 10 minutes Sean looked for it and found it. I said that's the one, purple and it's an envelope and he rudely yelled saying he can hold on to the package and not even give it to me. Seriously?!? Go ahead Sean keep my package you asshole. Incredibly rude owner/manager! He made me feel like an idiot only because I didn't know how to properly package my item and attach an envelope with an invoice to the package. I generally don't ship anything (last time was a few years ago). That does not mean that he had to be so abrasive, throwing the shipping package onto the counter and not even allowing me complete a sentence. This UPS is the best I've ever used. Sean and his staff are so personable. You walk in there and the mundane process of whatever you are probably in there for becomes instantly lighter in mood. They are efficient and helpful (funny?!), typically going the extra mile. They know many of their clients by name, and their clients certainly know them. It's always really a pleasure. Sure there are hectic moments and sometimes there will be a wait. But I'd rather wait here if I have to. read more
