I sent a package with a birthday gift that never reached its destination and was offered no reimbursement for the package. When I returned later the employee said the manager would look into it and call me; never received a call. My partner went in to do an Amazon return on my behalf, told the employee that it was an Amazon return, showed them the shipping label, and was charged $115 for shipping. She had never done an Amazon return and didn't know any better. When I went in person to talk about these 2 issues they indirectly accused her of never showing the Amazon return label because they would have done it differently otherwise. This place will always try to rip you off before selling you what you ask for. Example: my daughter brought in a Shipping package that was never opened. It was a soft plastic shipping package. All they had to do is put a new sticker over the existing sticker. Instead, they sold her a box for $10 and put the existing package inside of another one just so that they can charge an additional $10. They are so gross here. Then they told her it would cost $200 to mail when she asked to send it ground at the lowest possible cost. She had to completely talk them down so that she could send it for $30. I use UPS stores frequently. This particular store is TINY! They try really hard to accommodate the large quantities of people and packages but inevitably one ends up standing in line and holding their packages for a longer time than usual until you make it to the front of the queue. read more

I brought a package to be returned and found out that the scan code I had was for a Whole Foods return, not the UPS store. Staff, Priya helped me with my iphone to get the order cancelled and a new scan code issued. I was able to return my package and did not need to take another trip. Zero stars actually. Staff are very nice and helpful. The owner is not. I have had a mailbox here for 3 years and have had small to medium sized packages delivered with no problems. Then one day recently, the owner told me that my mailbox was only for letters and nothing else and then charged me $15.00(!) before I could leave with the 3 medium-sized boxes that were delivered this location. (I had them delivered here because our house had a power outage and was uninhabitable for a week.) My mailbox is in the name of a business, but the owner insists on charging me for each individual addressee (there are only 2), even if the mail clearly states the name of the business. I have had a mailbox at a UPS Store in Corvallis, OR for 5 years before I had to move and transfer it to this store. We had no problems there and the owner never charged me to receive packages or if letters were addressed to 2 different individuals as long as the business was named as well. When we tried to use the notary services, the owner wanted personal information (SSNs) that she was not entitled to just to notarize a document. All she needed was government ID which we provided. I am tired of being nickeled and dimed every time I come in here. When I wait in line I notice the owner will constantly charge other customers for little things, like extra tape on a box, or comment that an item was not packaged well and will charge extra to put it in a different box. She clearly has profit prioritized over customer service. Stay away from this place! There are several other UPS stores close by. read more

If I can give this place zero stars, I would. This is the worst UPS store I've ever been to. The one by by my house in downtown Portland, that I usually go to, is so efficient and makes everything quick and easy. I just drop off all my returns, and as long as they are in a return package and have labels, they just tape the return label on for me, so all I have to do is just drop and go. This Indian lady, who I think was the owner, made me tape every single return with my own tape and didn't even tell me while I was in line, wasting so much of my time. The whole process, and experience, was just unpleasant and inefficient. The only thing this place had going for them was the fact that they open earlier than the other stores, at 9AM. The service is friendly enough but they are insanely expensive and charge for EVERYTHING.... to the point of nickel and diming you to death. I get it that it's a franchise and the owners need to make a profit but when you make customers feel like they've been fleeced, there's a problem. They efficiently receive, process and ship my UPS packages which is exactly what you'd expect to happen at a UPS store... so three stars (an ok rating) for that. Minus one star for charging an extra $10 for "extras" like taping my box closed which costs them maybe ten cents in time and materials. NOTE TO THE OWNERS: You can make a modest profit and develop a loyal customer base that will use your service time after time by making them feel that you are providing good value for your services.... Every time I go into this UPS store it's a new charge for a basic supply. They want $.50 to tape my box closed fine bought a roll of tape I've been taping I'm close myself now today I go in and they want $1.50 to put my return label into the UPS plastic envelope that they get for free. I won't be back to this location I'd rather give my business to the UPS store over off Canyon eyes are always happy to see their customers and don't charge petty fees for basic supplies. read more

This UPS store charges for every small thing. If you have a UPS return, it costs $1.50 for a piece of tape to affix the label. Not all UPS locations charge these item. I do understand the need to pay for costs, especially for small businesses. But it was also unpleasant service. Try a different location. read more

Brought two packages in to be sent via Simple Rate, but was told it was still a fairly new system, so they hadn't implemented it in stores yet... Fair enough. So the employee at the counter was kind enough to give me a quote based on my packages' weight/dimensions. One of my packages was a 13x12x9 and was quoted at $24.20. However, I wanted to do my research on other possibly lower cost carriers before I sent it off, so I told then I'd be back later. Fast forward later: I asked my partner to drop it off at the same store (since I was at work at the time), and when she got back to me with the receipt, this same package was priced at $30.35, which was $6 more than what was quoted to me earlier. Turns out they tacked on an extra few inches (13x13x10)!! So my partner called me shortly thereafter and told me she went back in to talk to them. They said it was "measured incorrectly" earlier, which is a load of BS since I'd also measured it (before I left for work) to within 13x12x9, and they refuse to owe up to their mistake, instead blaming it on the previous employee who measured it initially. Sadly, I am not dealing with his particular branch again. Maybe next time I'll even go with FedEx. read more

Very rude staff. Would not give me a plastic sleeve for my UPS package even though they were on the counter right behind them. Wouldn't let me use their tape. They said that they had to tape the label to the package or I had to buy their tape. I went down the road to the Beaverton store. They were able to help me and turn my package around in 60 seconds. Retail pro-tip #1 - if you have bad "policies", sooner or later a digital marketer is going to have a bad experience in your store then leave you a terrible review. I've had 2 bad experiences at this store and now I'm done. One with each owner. You know that tape you sell for $2.50/rl? I know it cost you about $.90/rl. Pro tip #2 - you ain't gonna get rich selling rolls of tape. I'd be surprised if you sell 4 cases a month worth netting you maybe $100 in profit a month. For that potential customer that walks in needing a couple pieces of tape who you piss off because you demand they buy a whole roll, you are a poor, poor business owner. This business's owners have very little understanding of what customer service should look like and certainly won't make it very long in business. It's sad. I get it - you bought a UPS store franchise with your life savings, but the problem is you probably had no idea that most people who walk in have no intention of buying your wares and just want their stuff sent. You are a poor business person for not knowing what you got into. I had a pleasant surprise this afternoon. I was needing to return an item to a retail vendor and I had the item and the return slip, but alas, I forgot my wallet. The two people working were very pleasant and they said they would send and that I could come by next time in the area and pay for the needed envelope. I came back about 10 minutes later with the cash and they were again super friendly. Most of my experiences these days with customer service usually involve lots of apologies and really long waits. I came in to ship two boxes and I brought my own packaging tape. I asked if it was okay to have two packing slips as I was afraid that my tape wasn't enough to tape my shipping labels. They gave me a response of "we sell tape". I took my chances and taped my packages. Just my luck, I didn't have enough tape to tape the shipping label of my second package. I asked again if I could have a packing slip (since other UPS locations offer them for free) and they refused so I offered to purchase some. They then said that they are not for sale. Basically they wanted to charge me for attaching a shipping label to my prepaid package. I stood my ground and refused. They eventually, with attitude, accepted my package. It must've felt like pulling your teeth to tape my shipping label. This location is complete garbage. I don't understand why this location is still open. If this is a privately owned UPS store, I hope the owner sees this review. You cannot offer $3 for a role of tape when your customers only need a piece or two. To nicely put it, you suck. read more

I went in yesterday to get an affadavit notarized. There were only two workers at the time, and the worker in charge of the notary service was busy with another customer. After acknowledging my presence, I waited around the store for my turn, which gave me an ample amount of time to observe the awkward interaction between these two workers. For example, while the notary service worker was busy, the other worker stayed behind the counter, avoiding eye contact with anyone, and had to be constantly reminded to help the other customers in the store. That's just a funny anecdote because the main reason I'm giving this UPS store 2 stars is for the extremely slow service! Granted, I came in during lunch hour, so there were a handful other customers around, but remember, there was only ONE person ahead of me for notary services. I waited for about 15-20 minutes before she got to me. When it was finally my turn, she took a LONG time reading over the 4 sentences on the affadavit, then signed it, then read it again, then stamped it, then looked it over...etc. I'm not one to tell people how to do their job, but it really should've taken less than a minute to do! read more

If your package is damaged, this store will not help you settle your claim with UPS. They work together to defraud their customers out of our hard-earned money! Take your business to Fed Ex! On Jan. 25, 2011, I spent almost $70 to shipped a package [1ZR2A2500396339547] with UPS, and was notified on Feb. 2, that the package was damaged prior to delivery and being sent back to the shipping store. UPS refuses to cover the cost of the value of the damaged goods ($99). Their reasoning is "improper packaging" because it was not packed by UPS, or shipped in a UPS box. My father owns a company that specializes in industrial packaging and shipping containers, and packed the item for me. It was in a custom corrugated box, with 2" foam protecting all sides. The packaging was not the problem. UPS is accepting monetary payment for a service that they market, but they cannot provide. Extensive damage rates on shipments and not taking responsibility for damage during shipment that they cause. Damage rates exceed 50% despite packaging. Then UPS will nullify any claim against them by stating that the items were not properly packaged -- needs independent decision instead of UPS doing their own determination. Damage seems to occur independently of how items are packaged. Also, there is no recourse path for the average citizen that ships with them. The customer service process is very circular and difficult to navigate. It is impossible to reach anyone who can answer questions, take accountability or anyone who has any authority to remedy the problem. The answer to every concern is always a "process" that the consumer must go through, most of the time, in vain. The answer is a "hoop" that you must jump through in order to get resolution. They are really just trying to set up obstacles in hope that you will just get tired and drop your issue. The problem is due to UPS negligence. UPS recklessly mishandled my package causing it to be destroyed. UPS has now tied up my money and time for more than three weeks. UPS is at fault and DID NOT provide the service they were paid to do, they have acted irresponsibly and need to do what is right. read more

I had to send some things back via UPS and the owner told me to email her the return label, I attempted to do this but as their internet was weak she didn't receive the email so she stated that she would need 2 charge me to log on to the computer to print the label. After that she stated she would charge me $2.00 to tape the label on the box since it didn't have a plastic sleeve! I've never seen such horrible service.
