We came here to pick up a package we had delivered to this store to avoid all the package theft in the SJ area. Should have known it wasn't going to be a good experience! This is UPS after all (see previous UPS related reviews.) When my husband selected the option to pick up in store, it said it was free with UPS MyChoice membership. He had his ID ready to show the girl who works here with the piercings in her face, hair dyed black and 2 inch blonde roots showing, who never smiles. She grabbed the package and asked my husband if he was a MyChoice member. Now, I should preface this by saying he is, in fact, a UPS MyChoice member but he did not realize this was a special UPS program or that it was some kind of separate account from a UPS account. So he did not know his login or member name and she said it did not come through on her computer (they send a notification I guess?) so that will be $10 please. $10? What? To have the UPS store hold the package? With no warning of this fee? She explained that this store is a franchise and it's up to the discretion of her manager to come up with he fee. That's fine and dandy, but shouldn't we have been charged--or at least notified--up front, when choosing our shipping option? It specifically said delivering to this store was free. After a few minutes of trying to get some answers, being told no we couldn't talk to the manager (he comes in maybe 2 days a month and she couldn't tell me when he would be available or how to get in touch), I decided to leave our number and have him call us. She responded with "Fine, but I can't hold this for more than 5 days." WHATEVER JUST RETURN TO SENDER! So as we get into the car we felt something really just wasn't right. We called UPS Custmer Service, explained the situation, and to make a long story short: outside of a bunch of policy discrepancies, the bottom line was we shouldn't have to pay so he wanted to speak with the associate since we were still there. We went back inside where she took the phone and proceeded to argue loudly with the customer service rep. She then hung up on him, grabbed the package, dumped every thing on the counter, and told us we were all set. read more

WORST SERVICE BY briana. Not even gonna uppercase her name. I came in with something to return something back to At&t. Right when I get to the desk, there wasn't even a greet or anything. It was straight up "account number". Um we talking in caveman language? We forgot to speak in complete sentences now? Anyways, I told her I didn't have it with me. Mind you, you don't have to have your account number. All you need is your last name, the number on your address and your zipcode. Nothing hard to type in. It's not accounting. So right at the last step she gives me this attitude and says " Next time you have to have your account number or else they're not gonna do it." She gave me the receipt and said here you go and walked off. Wtf is this? And by the way, her cowbyorker was standing around while there was a line and decided to help 2 other people after i finally reached the front. Lazy...I guess this company hires anyone now. Terrible... The people posting positive reviews have to be from friends and family because I saw no good customer service from her. These are the people that think they deserve $15 an hour? UPS visits are pretty standard across the board but I always go to this one now. The last couple times I've gone, Rachelle has been the one to help me out and her customer service is impeccable. She's super friendly, helpful, and informative. You know that awesome customer service you get while doing mundane errands that make it actually enjoyable? She's that person that gives you that level of service that most places lack. I called this store earlier today and spoke with Derek. I asked if there was someone there that can do notarizing and he said yes. I arrived less than 10 minutes later. While I was waiting, Derek was having a casual conversation with the previous customer about shipping alcohol. He went on to explain that it was illegal and that the store could not send it. Then, he went into lengthly detail discussing how to "get around" shipping alcohol to included ideal, discrete box sizes, packaging, etc. After that customer left, I walked to the counter. I wasn't greeted, just simply asked "what is that". I explained what it was and that we just spoke over the phone. He said, "oh yeah, the notary just left", and started tapping a box. I asked if he could locate another store that DOES have a notary and he said verbatim, "i'm not doing none of that". When he was questioned why, he said "I don't feel that that is necessary", "look it up on google maps and call them yourself." I asked for his name and he said Derek(whether or not that is his real name-he was not wearing a name tag). I then asked for his Manager's name and he said condescendingly, "Derek" and chuckled. In a stern tone again, I asked for his manager's name and he walked over, gave me a business card for the store and continued taping boxes while ignoring my presence. Not only did this UPS employee make a conscious effort to avoid exercising any customer service but he provided detailed insight and information on how to commit a federal crime. I do most of my shipping at this location and have always had great interactions with the staff members. It's hard to believe that this reckless employee could do such a horrible job at representing UPS. read more

This is the best UPS store!!!! My friend had over 50 Christmas presents to send to relatives while she is battling cancer. Today I gave this location a 2nd chance...and i shouldn't have. While I didn't have the same rude younger customer service (CS) person as I did the first time, I feel that this location still didn't provide good service overall. I arrived with my Amazon package with my printed labels and original box. I wanted to make sure that I packged everything correctly so my box wasn't taped up yet. The CS person let me know that there was a $1.00 charge just to tape up the box. Wtf? She explained that the manager says that they shouldn't be giving the tape for free or some mierda like that. That we, as a customer, have the option to buy "more for less" (6.99 for tape roll as mentioned in another review). I mentioned that i had been to another ups store that didnt charge a dollar to have their packages taped and she explained that this location is privately owned. Right then and there, i made a mental note to never come back to this location again. This older lady must receive a lot of feedback on the "policies" because she appeared really sympathetic. At least there's one person that understands how obsurd their policies and fees are at this particular location... From the other reviews, it sounds like the rude CS person that's in them was the girl from my first experience back in April. I needed to send back a dress that i ordered from a boutique online and the pricing seemed obsurd. I can't remember clearly but i rememer mentioning that i was gonna see how much it would cost with USPS (which the cost was probably like 70% less)... and her response was just plain rude and patronizing. The saying goes "you might forget what was said but you never forget how it made you feel" and that girl definitely made me angry, patronized and unappreciated as a customer. Like i said...I shouldn't have given this place a 2nd chance. Don't give your business to this location. They can't even provide the freakin tape. read more

i have had a negative experience in this store. I shipped a box with picture frames and it was damaged . The manager was unapologetic at the time i went to picked up the returned items. I cant even call her a customer service rep. I called the following day to get a tracking number and was told that they could not provide one to me since the package had already left the store. I was comparing prices between UPS and the US postal service. Not only did their prices come under the USPS but Rochelle even made sure that my package made the truck just before it left. I've come to this location a few times before to return Amazon packages and have never had any issues. The workers would help me tape up my box, affix the label, and print a receipt for me. Today however, the associate who helped me told me they would charge me $1.00 to use their tape. Okay so fine, I should've came with my package taped. Well I declined her offer and asked her if she can affix the label over where my package was open (in lieu of using the tape and I'd save myself $1!). She gives me a look like it's a stupid idea but agrees to do it, and then proceeds to put the label on the side of the box! I just watch on and let her continue doing what she's doing. Well then she prints out 3 large blank labels and uses it as tape to tape up my box. I'm pretty sure that those labels cost more than if she were to use their regular clear packaging tape. And keep in mind, my box is small and would've only needed about 8" of tape. So after she's done putting all these labels on my box, I ask her if I'm all set and I thank her for doing that for me. I get a blank stare and no response. No "sure you're welcome but next time bring your package taped", no "have a good day", not even a smile like in their UPS commercials. If management decides to respond, I know that I should bring my package taped and I will in the future. But that worker made me feel unwelcome. I understand she was following store policy but she could've gone about it a nicer way and said something like sorry we can't offer you that service. She could've even said you're welcome when I thanked her. I have the name of the employee but I won't put it here because I don't want to publicly shame her. Amazon on the other hand has such great customer service. They can easily give their business to another courier. (Yes I created this account just to write this review because I was so angered by the customer service I received!). read more

If I am taking the time to write a Yelp review, you can guarantee the service I received was exceptional. Karina C. and Rochelle exemplified whaaaaaatttt it means to go the extra mile. I needed to ship some documents that had to arrive by Saturday before noon all the way across the country. From the moment Karina opened the doors at 9 a.m. she was on my side. The package was not processed until 515 due to complications with the address and my last minute rush to copy documents. While still helping other customers Karina was able to locate a destination that would accept saturday next day air deliveries and Rochelle helped me organize and secure the package. The worst UPS store ever. I went to print something I walked in no one said hello I asked where I can print they just rudely said over there. A guy and a girl was working and wouldn't even direct me where and how to print. They were both in the phone. When I asked where does it print out the girl got up and came to print it out with a very bad attitude and then went and checked me out. I saw another person came in to mail something out the guy got up real fast and greeted him and start helping him out I don't know what it was about me that they were acting shady and rude. By far, this store is one of the best UPS stores I have used! I'm an online retailer and sell a lot of products on Amazon. Therefore I do a LOT of shipping with UPS. I've used many different UPS Store locations to drop off my boxes, but this one is at the TOP of my favorites! They have convenient parking, and the employees are welcoming and extremely helpful. The staff actually LIKE helping customers, unlike some UPS stores I have been to where they are grumpy and uncaring. Not this location! They do care.
