I've been using the UPS Store for a 4 years now. I take care of most of my business needs at this location (mailbox, printing, notary, etc). The business has gone under new ownership recently and they have been tremendous. In addition to getting a friendly greeting every time I enter the store, they are always kind and courteous when answering my questions. On a few occasions, they have gone over and above to make sure I was taken care of. The service is exceptional. I have never had good service/experience at a local post office. I either had to wait in long lines or wait in no lines to listen to staff talking in the back room, and receiving no help. The second i discovered Main Street Postal & Business Center i new i would only use them for all my postal needs. No lines, Great Service and Wonderful Staff. She worked with me through finger printing- which is typically a routine situation...but the process became very complicated due to a recent move from another state. If you are into DIY for your customer service, this is the place to be! I went in to ship something to the East coast; both young females behind the counter (one behind a register, just standing there - the other was counting the money in the register) didn't greet me, didn't ask if they could help... nothing. I found a mailing tube on my own... had to re-roll the paper I was shipping because the tube was very narrow. I actually said 'just stand around and watch me as I struggle' - still no response. Finally I wanted to ship.. gave zip code and girl gave price. I ask if there are any options; she gives me one (faster delivery). I say, 'anymore' - she quotes an outrageous price for 2 day delivery. I say, forget it-I'll just buy the tube. She doesn't know how much it is; finally, she finds the price and I hand over a $20 bill for a $4.95 purchase. "We don't have any change". "Just charge me $5" A dumbfounded stare is what I get as a response. "Wait, I ask, you mean you don't have coins or bills or ANY change whatsoever?" "No, no change." So I use a credit card for under $5 and walk out... I'll ship it with regular mail - cheaper and customer service - incredibly! - is better at the post office. read more

Wow what a crazy experience with a very confused power tripping notary public. , shade correcting herself with a different speal . Here's the situation my identity was stolen and I keep finding new things they purchased and I have too contest them as fraud., so they least to own say $2,000 welder, I had to get affidavit notarized that said I had nothing to do with it . There is a panel where they want 5 signatures in a row so they can compare the signatures on their their end with those , this lady stephanie was trying to tell me I had to notarize each signature at 15 bucks a pop which would be 75 bucks she had little to no confidence in her answers and I said I would like you to just notarized one signature that's all they're getting, can you do that and she kept going on about legal stuff in California and Massachusetts I'm like lady you're not a doctor you're not a civil engineer you didn't take a Hippocratic Oath not a paralegal pretty little stamp there that you saw me sign this and I'll leave read more

Went to ship a small package to Canada. The young lady working behind the counter began by stating "well you know that will be expensive". Not sure why she felt the need to begin like that. Of course it's more expensive. She also pointed out "it's a really long form". It became clear she doesn't enjoy doing the extra paperwork for international packages when she stated "ugh, I hate international". Are you trying to discourage me from using your service? We left and went to fedex, where we received professional and courteous service. And yes, it was also expensive. read more

The ladies there are nice to you as long as you are willing to spend money there. I had to drop off a postage paid UPS package and had to stand in line anyway for them to just take the package from me and throw it on the floor. They also didn't like that I spoke up to say I was next (I thought I was), but since the ladies behind the counter knew the lady who was allegedly ahead of me, I guess I was way out of luck. Also, they charge a premium on all postage for the "convenience." There's limited parking in downtown Walnut Creek, so I don't know what's so convenient about it. read more

This place is so much more convenient than the USPS office on Broadway, so I have been sending packages and buying stamps here since I moved to Walnut Creek. It has recently switched over to new ownership, and I have not been pleased with the changes. The fee for sending packages via USPS has increased by more than double (it used to about $2 more than the post office, is now $4+). They have also stopped selling International stamps. Plus, the really lovely people who used to work there have moved onto to new places. The experience is no longer as charming and their services and prices just don't make it worth using this business anymore. Thankfully there is a place close by that is expanding it's postal services. I will be a regular there from now on. read more

As you've probably noticed, all the bad reviews are from years ago. Over the last year and a half or so, I've been coming here and every time service is speedy, I've never had a problem with package pick-up (no experience with delivery), and the ladies are so super friendly! Bad experience. Had an amazon return package labeled and ready to go but I had run out of tape. So my thinking was that the young lady at the store could run a piece of tape across the top of the box for me. WRONG. Told her why I was there and was greeted with 1) do you have a label - why yes I do, and 2) There's a $2 taping charge (not packing the box but running one strip of clear tape across an 18 inch package). I didn't say a word, just turned and walked out. Would give zero stars if possible. read more

I went to this UPS store intending to ship something. It was my first time having done so and when I approached one of the workers, Kelvin, for help, he sent me to a computer for answers (which I had tried to do already at home). Flustered and having no idea what to do, I tried to create shipping label online on their website, and ended up just printing the receipt on accident. Having paid 10$ for nothing essentially, I asked Kelvin if he'd be able to refund me or help me, both to which he answered no and that he had no idea how to do it. This is not the first problem I've encountered with UPS as they tend to hire under qualified people that have no idea what customer service is on the daily. I then proceeded to head to the closest FedEx store. They helped me immediately, and efficiently. Never going to UPS again. ALWAYS go FedEx. read more

As a W.C. business owner, I was so happy to find a Post Office alternative. It's always a pleasure to visit Main St. Postal. The entire staff is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The shop is often busy, but I have yet to see the staff get flustered or curt...They just take it in stride, smile and efficiently take care of the customers. If the wait is a few minutes, you'll notice that they know most customers by name and some customers even pop in just to say 'hi'(!) - that speaks volumes! read more
