I came here the other day to return an Amazon package (my first ever Amazon return after several years of obsessive Prime ordering...ha!). I had a shipping label printed, but no packing tape, and figured I could just buy a roll here. The gal working there (only person working that I could see) was so nice - she said there was no need to buy tape, and she taped up the whole package for me and affixed the packing label for me. Avoid this place at all costs, its a joke. They have only one person working around lunch time, I'm guessing, the busiest part of the day for them. I went in there to send out a shipment to my family in Michigan, the only person working was swamped. When he finally got to the counter, he pulled up my account to where the package was going to be sent to, which was fine, the stuff I was going to ship was in a bag. He couldn't box it right away because he said he had other customers to take care of, so I waited. and waited and waited. When I finally said, can you tape the bag up, I do not trust someone packing and possibly looking through my bag with my cards to my family when no one is in the store besides you. After about 10 minutes, he finally taped up the bag. Horrible customer service with no time management skills. If anything is missing from my shipment, you bet your a$$ I will get him fired. It was the only place near the Courthouse that had a notary available from the moment they opened. I'd been through such a hassle that morning that I made sure I called ahead. When I did, a store clerk named Imani assured me that she'd be available when I arrived, which was about fifteen minutes later. She notarized my documents, was courteous and quick, and I'd definitely go there again. read more

Use USPS over this store if you are concerned about the quality of care for your package. UPS in general is great, this store is not. I am giving this store 2 stars because of their current manager. The employees of this store conduct themselves with professionalism and have done well with my pre-packed packages, if I was just reviewing my experience in the store they would get 4 stars. I had them pack a delicate item to ship cross-country, and it was severely damaged. The store manager has been evading my calls and not filling out the proper forms to get my damaged package claim through. I have attempted to bring this to UPS' attention so that hopefully something can be done about it, but I figured Yelp! was a much easier way to tell other people about the issues. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. This is the worst shipping experience I have had in my life. I moved from DC to Austin and shipped all my belongings since I did not have a car. Well, turns out one of my boxes went missing. A box that contained over $1,000 worth of clothing. Four months later, after multiple calls and emails, I am notified that I am only to receive $114 for the loss. THEY DIDN'T EVEN COVER THE ENTIRE SHIPPING COST. Come on UPS, so so so so so disappointed. Will never ship out of UPS again. Stay away, go to the US Post Office instead. read more

The service was bad and they charged me for overnight and the package took 4 days to arrive. They assured me it would because it was medicine that a relative needed and in the end they never received it. The lady at the counter was rude and after complaining we learned that they wouldn't even refund or discount us. I live across the street but will use FedEx moving forward. Do not use UPS if you are shipping something fragile and are not paying the extra to have them also pack it for you. Otherwise, they will find any reason to deny a claim for the items that they will break. I shipped over 80 pieces of china in 3 large boxes from Virginia to California. I declared the full value in case of any damage. When the two pieces were damaged, I was told they would not pay because the boxes I used were not "strong" enough and the packing materials I used did not meet their standards. So go for it if you are also going to pay them to pack it, otherwise I would say try another shipper. (others have handled similar claims with no problem) read more

I needed to drop off a large box for shipping, but neglected to check when the UPS store open. I showed up 30 minutes early in the DC heat thinking that I'd just wait it out. A minute later the store manager saw me through the glass, invite me in, took my package, and asked if I wanted a receipt. Excellent service! read more

Whom ever owns this store is horrible. The packing prices are ridiculous!!!!!!! The prices for the boxes are ridiculous and to top it of not having proper staff is ridiculous. Awful, awful, awful. I needed to fax a single document during my lunch break. I walked-in and was assisted after just a few minutes; however, after that I was on my own. The female store clerk kept putting the fax through and saying that "it goes back to ready mode," I suppose indicating that the fax machine on the receiving end wasn't picking-up. So, I called that number from my cell phone and immediately got a fax tone, indicating that the receiving machine was ready to receive my document. She tried 3 more times--and each time, she walked away and wouldn't check on my fax for about 5 minutes--until she said it wasn't working. I DIALED my phone on speaker phone so that she could hear that the fax on the receiving end was working. She walked away, leaving my documents on the fax machine. When she walked back over, she discovered that she'd be dialing the wrong number . NOTE: The fax number is located on my cover sheet under "fax number," and the contact's phone number is located under "phone number." She kept dialing the phone number instead of the fax number. When she learned of her mistake she said, "whatever, it's confusing" and tried again. AGAIN she walked away after putting the document through the fax and didn't walk back after 5 minutes. So, I had another employee who was on the phone at the time give me my documents and I left. Frankly, I get that we all make mistakes. However, if an employee is trying to help a customer and she has nothing else to do, why walk away to go play on your cell phone? STAY AND HELP UNTIL YOU HAVE PROVIDED THE SERVICE FOR WHICH YOU ARE PAID. read more

I'm not sure if my expectations are out-dated, but this UPS Store is untidy, the staff is quite rude, and their manner is unprofessional. I've met unprofessional staff who are rude, but rude because they are quick and efficient. It's a pay-off I'm willing to make! This staff is rude, slow, and rather prickly. Packages might still get there, but other UPS stores are much more pleasant and quicker. There are other UPS shops. read more

No parking. No Parking. No parking. The garage charges $10 and any space on the street is a long walk with a heavy or bulky package for drop off or pick up. I've had great service from the staff but the no parking situation is a constant pain. UPS insists on delivering my packages here and its so inconvenient. read more

I went to get a laptop box I was told I could only insure the laptop if they packaged the item themselves. I had a second package that I had packed. The women took the laptop I was mailing, She made two mailing stickers gave me receipts and off I went. My son received a box full of tatty old text books. I was overseas at the time, I emailed and told them my son would deal with it. They said fine. But they responded once and then no more. I emailed again and the manager just kept asking me to send back the text books. She was not apologetic, she was not helpful. Finally she just said send me your address and we will give you the insurance money. The problem is are some things that the value is hard to determine. My boyfriend had refurbished the computer put all kinds of software on the computer for my son, I naively believed if they packaged it then maybe it would get to its destination. The package I packed did. No one cared!! I went there a second time out of desperation to get copies done figured I am doing them no one can screw up but me. I went in and stopped to ask the women behind the counter a question she grunted something and looked irritated I asked her to clarify she rolled her bejewelled eyelashes at me. When I went to pay she grunted again looked at her cell phone looked annoyed that I was actually needing service, her supervisor was standing right there. No customer service pride whatsoever. I did get my check probably half the value of the computer. But its ok I work in the area, I have a large network word of mouth. They also have a terrible selection of packing materials seriously overpriced. read more

We came in on a Saturday morning needing to print a few documents for our newborn's passport application. Rhonda was extremely helpful. The copier was not working properly and she offered to print all of the documents for us from the front. It was really great to have such an efficient experience in the midst of a somewhat arduous process. read more

Never expected great customer service from a big chain such as UPS but my experience here was terrible. I went to this UPS to send a package and the person working behind the counter was actually the owner. The minute I walked in he gave me attitude, told me he makes no money on drop offs and wanted a two dollar fee to use a strip of tape. He basically told me flat out that he didn't want me as a customer. I was so disgusted, annoyed, and disappointed with the service that I left and biked a mile away to another UPS on L street - where I received great service and no charge for a piece of tape. read more
