Finally came to try this place after having it bookmarked for so long. The interior is so aesthetic and theres lots of tables. They have wifi and it would be a good spot to work. The staff is very friendly. Got the usual and the RAF coffee and both were yummy! Pretty strong coffee flavor. Would come back

Upon first impressions, this cafe is super cute and aesthetic. I love that the decor makes me feel like I am in Europe. Very spacious and plenty of seating for a busy weekend morning. It seemed like all of the staff were working in the back, but when you enter there was a tablet that you can use to put in your order. The food/drinks come out fairly quickly. I had a strawberry matcha latte, and I actually really like that the drinks aren't sweet. It tasted just right. Their glassware is also very pretty and are a nice touch! Street parking was not difficult, also don't forget to bus your table!

Pretty incredible coffee all around! Their house drink "the usual" is maybe one of the better coffee drinks for the area. With just one barista during my visit, it took a little over 10 minutes, so I do wish service was a little faster, but the cafe itself is cute, the ambiance is welcoming, and very welcome curated.

Idk ab the coffee or anything else on the menu but DO NOT order the matcha here. It was just a big cup of milk.

After stops in Pioneer Square and another on Yesler, I decided to checkout The Usual for a midday bite and coffee (9/21/24). I've had it bookmarked for awhile. Looks like first Yelp review was last year, however, Tshirts available for purchase state 2022 as when they were established. The Usual has sidewalk seating and indoor table and counter seating. I really like the indoor aesthetic of high ceilings, natural light, eye catching tilework, and lots of healthy plants. Enticing, well stocked pastry case. Nice variety of menu selections. Pleasant barista. I selected a turkey & havarti croissant and a 16oz iced mocha to have onsite. The croissant sandwich was warmed and generous serving of arugula was added. The iced mocha was well crafted and served in a nice hefty tall glass. I remained onsite for an hour. Nice steady stream of customers who also dined onsite, more of the convo crowd and just one laptop seen. Also folks who popped in for bevs and baked goods for takeout. I enjoyed my visit and will have to remember to return, especially to try their pelmeni.

Delicious pastries...will return to try their entrees. Excellent service and attention to detail AND accommodating since I'm a sugar baby (diabetic). Great relaxing vibe with jazzy music. You Gots to patron this quaint coffee shop on Yesler. Great spot for meetings too.

This cafe is super cute, and the food and drinks were beautifully presented. The coffee was decent, and the Cirniki had a nice texture--not too sweet, which I liked. The Pelmeni looked great but didn't quite deliver on flavor.

Great coffee & food. I've ordered the usual (their main coffee drink) more than once. The customer service is always great every time I stop by. Great place to study or meet up with friends.

We came here on a Monday afternoon. The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the beautiful interiors, free wifi, and our delicious food. Parking was not bad as we easily found a spot in the surrounding neighborhood.

Such a cute and delicious coffee spot! It's a little out of the way to get too but the area itself is quite nice. The inside is beautifully decorated with a bunch of green and the seating is spacious and cozy. I got the usual, which is a shaken espresso with oat milk and a little bit of sweetener. It was absolutely delicious -- my exact ideal coffee. I was shocked that it was exactly what it was when the cashier described it to me, because it's what I'd order if I had a choice. It was the perfect level of sweetness with a strong espresso flavor and creamy oat milk. My friends got their food which looked beautiful and they said was delicious. I'd highly recommend this spot !!

Very tasty drink and food and really lovely ambiance. The service was also friendly and accommodating. The dumplings I had were fantastic and very much worth the 25 minute wait (which they gave me a heads up about and I agreed to). I will definitely be back!

I've been seeing a lot of posts about this place on social media so I thought it'd be worth the try! We got The Usual and the Lavender Rose latte, both with oat milk. The Usual was just ok. It tastes like any other latte. The Lavender Rose latte was yummy! The service was just ok. The barista didn't even acknowledge our existence for several minutes and just didn't seem enthused to be there. He wasn't rude but also not friendly. I know I'm only getting coffee but at least let us now that you know we exist and you can see us, you know? I was tempted to get pastries but with that kind of service, I don't think I'd wanna give this place more of my money.

    Celina S.

Awesome spot to hang out, with delicious and beautiful drinks! We got the matcha, winter freeze (hazelnut and cinnamon latte), and the usual (shaken vanilla oat latte). Everything was awesome and the barista was super patient with our questions on what each drink was. The coffee is also STRONG! I was up until 2 am lol. Parking is easy which is also a plus.

Vietnamese coffee is typically made with robusta beans, which have higher caffeine and a heavier, almost thick mouthfeel compared to arabica. I ordered their Hanoi Egg coffee and also their Kettle Corn coffee, from the server's recommendations. I found myself noticeably surprised by how there was bittnerness, but it was not too harsh. There were some also some chocolatey undertones in the Egg Hanoi, with the egg pudding. I would have preferred less ice, less egg pudding and more drink. Overall though, it did not take away the flavor for me. As for the vibe, there was Kpop music playing in the background when I visited and multiple tables already occupied from people working on their laptops or sitting down to talk. The aesthetic is minimalist chic - steel tables with that warehouse feel. They do not have pastry options so don't come hungry! I also just visited Vietnam in April where I had lotss of egg coffee so I was really excited to try it back home. For starters, the coffee here has great depth. It's sweet but not overbearingly so. It also has that caramelized note that I usually look for. I'd just say that I wish their egg cream had more flavor. At least in the drink I had, the cream seemed more for texture since it didn't have much flavor by itself. I still enjoyed it though and would definitely get it again. Service: (5/5) Super kind people and I barely had to wait for my order. Other notes: If you're new to Viet coffee, please do not chug it or drink it in one sitting. It is powerful stuff. It's the kind of drink you leisurely sip on!

I ended up ordering a matcha latte with brown sugar syrup (half sweet) and a gruyere pull apart pastry. My friend got a regular latte with brown sugar syrup and the scallion pull apart pastry. I also bought a bag of their Morning Sun coffee beans as a souvenir, and the cashier mentioned how it was one of her favorite blends to drink and gift! That reassured me about blind buying. My matcha latte was pretty good. It had an added earthiness from the brown sugar syrup. Though it wasn't as green as the matcha lattes I'm used to drinking back in SoCal, it wasn't bad! However, I think I would skip the gruyere pull apart pastry next time. I usually don't mind gruyere in savory pastries, but this one was especially greasy. The scallion one my friend got was much tastier and a lot lighter - I'd recommend that one over the gruyere one. If I were to come back to Seattle, I'd love come back and try a sweet pastry and a different espresso drink.
