I came to the store to buy 380 bullets and my friend was looking to buy a gun. You would think that sales people would be nice considering that guns are upwards of $400 but nope not here. This older guy with grey hair was pretty rude to me and my friends when he was trying to show us a 380 and they said they only sell bullets with a purchase of a gun. I went here today to sell my used Colt .45, having been turned down by just about every other gun shop in Atlanta. But I was so pleased to learn that this place was different. I spoke with a gentleman over the phone named 'Pete,' and he personally greeted me as I came in today. He was exceedingly kind and generous in his dealings, giving me top dollar for the gun, without complaint, bickering, or bullshit. WOW. What a concept! After all of the "attitude" I had received at the other gun shops, this place was like a breath of fresh air. Even the prices to use his gun range were spectacular, only ten bucks for the ENTIRE DAY. I just attended a ladies only gun training class. I highly recommend this class, I brought my 21 and 19 year old daughters to learn how to shoot the guns in the house. We learned safely, gun laws, and how to shoot. ABSOLUTELY worth the time and money. read more

This place is undergoing renovation so I will be back after the reno. I've always frequented this place for some range time or new firearms or random equipment and accessories since moving to GA. Since the name change it's been a little subpar but still friendly, welcoming, and helpful staff. One reason for the loss of stars is because the ammo you buy from here went from substandard to awful. This ammo will jam the best guns my glock and Canick Jammed and was so filthy after running a box from here. Not only that had a 9mm shell explode in the chamber after getting stuck. Made me feel like my firearms were some old garbage that's not taken care of. However outside of the range purchasing items is smooth and the fastest background checks for those with no carry license. read more

I went to Wild West Traders yesterday and had an excellent experience. Customer Service was 5 star, especially after going to adventure outdoors where I was told that only members have access to the gun range. They wanted $300 for the membership, which I was not going to pay, so I went to Wild West Traders which was the next nearest gun range. I'm glad I did find this place because I enjoyed shooting there much more that at adventure outdoors. I think I just found my go to range when I want to go shooting! read more

It's been a long time since I've been here. I'm still a fan. This is the range I go to often. It's not because it's my favorite, but it's the closest and most convenient for me. But it is still a good range. Due to ammo prices being high, I haven't been shooting much. When I returned, I saw they have changed a bit. Before, they had strict range rules. You could only shoot pistol rounds but no magnums. Well, you can't shoot magnums still, but you can shoot your rifle rounds if they're frangible. I guess that's a good compromise. I don't know the science behind backstops, but I would think they would install stronger backstops to stop most bullets. Since they haven't all those years, maybe they can't? Their range prices have lowered. It's still $10 to shoot, but you can shoot all day for just $10. In fact, if you keep your receipt, you can come back at another time that day to shoot again. That's cool. The range is clean, well ventilated, well lit, and well run. They have upgraded their pulley system it seems. It's a good range. I have no complaints. I didn't rent any guns to shoot, but it looks like they expanded their rental gun section too. To rent a gun, it's $15. But like the range, it's all day for all guns. So if you want to try out a lot of guns, this is a good place to do it. Just pay $15, and if you want, you can shoot all the guns they have. They seemed to have bought or took over the old pawn shop next door. They now use that space as a showroom for all of their guns. That is a good idea. The old space felt cramped at times. Even though they expanded their showroom, their selection still looks smaller than the other big name places nearby. The prices weren't that hot either. Then again, Wild West Traders weren't known for their prices anyway. They were always on the high side. People working there seemed more chill than before. They changed their rules for loaded guns in the stores. Because of dumb people, they allowed no loaded guns in the store. Now, they relaxed the rule. They only allow guns in the store if the guns are in a holster or in a bag. I think that's a good change. It does prevent some idiots from pulling out loaded guns and waving it around. And it doesn't discriminate responsible gun owners from having to unload their gun before they come in. I'm glad I came back. This looks like a good place to shoot and oogle at guns. read more

I have never touched a gun before, never been to a shooting range, and so I really don't know any better. But, my friend is a police officer and he took me here to teach me how to shoot a gun. I'd have to say, if he recommends this place to me it must be A-ok. It's $10/hr per person to shoot, granted you have all the equipments. Protective gear are $1 to rent. Bullets avg $5-6 dollars. The workers were nice. Heads up, put your earphones on before you step in the range. I was being a total noob and the sound scared the shite out of me. Had fun! Plenty of parking. read more

I first came here a few weeks ago to take their beginner's pistol safety course. They went through the basics of safety, different kinds of guns, kinds of bullets, how to shoot correctly, GA gun laws, etc. The 4 hour class was very interesting and went by surprisingly fast! We also got to practice on the range. I had never shot a gun before, so I was completely freaked out, to say the least. It turned out to be a great experience!!! Once I got the hang of things, I really started to appreciate and enjoy target shooting. Wednesday is Ladies' Day, so the range fee is waved for women! You'll still have to pay for gun rental (if you don't have your own), ammo (if you didn't bring any), targets, and "eyes & ears". We usually rent all of this on site, but I've heard that you can purchase ammo from other stores for a lot less. A box of 9 mm ammo can set you back $18.99! Gaaa! But seriously, the guys who work here are very knowledgeable and are extremely helpful. Great atmosphere! read more

Went here about a week ago to shoot my Beretta. Everyone there, customers and employees, are nice and professional. They spent time with me looking at guns even though I am from Texas and couldn't actually buy one there. They're range is more than adequate, but not pristine. Everything does work. I was relaxed while shooting, which is not normal. I actually hate to shoot around others, but it wasn't a problem here. Great Range! Nice people! read more

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff will sit and chat or answer any technical questions you have about the guns they have on hand. Unfortunately they dont have the largest selection to choose from, but have enough pistols and some rifles to shop for that it isnt a waste of time to go there. Good selection of cleaning products, safety products, holsters and cases round out their offerings. The real selling point of WWT is their super clean, super bright and moderately well ventilated 25 yard shooting range. I love that this range is so close to my apartment, would love it more if i could convince my girlfriend to go with me though (hint hint). Reasonable rates for range time, ammunition, firearm rentals, eye and ear protection, and targets let you know that they want you to come back as often as you can. read more

I can't believe I'm reviewing a gun range, but there is a first time for everything. First off, any place that has a Ladies Night is okay in my book. Like the other reviews mentioned, Wednesday is the day women get in free with a purchase of ammo. My husband frequents this place and commented the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, I have to agree with him. It was my first time "popping my cherry" at a gun range, and I surprisingly felt very safe (well after a while). I noticed the staff were quick to correct any behavior that may lead to anyone hurting themselves or others, but definitely in a friendly matter. Also, they were conscientious of the spent casings on the floor, and ensured the floor was swept appropriately. I definitely will be back! read more

I go here on a somewhat regular basis to practice my target shooting. Ill post some pictures of my handiwork, but the best part of this place is that the range is very well ventilated. Other ranges I have been to are porrly ventilated which leads to a case of "black lung" after you are done popping off a few hundred rounds with friends. They have about 15 lanes and all different kinds of targets for you to shoot at (including a "bin laden" target). They have all sorts of guns to rent and the prices are reasonable for everything. If you are interested in buying a firearm or just keeping your skills up to snuff, then give these guys a try. read more

I'd be really careful of this place if your a person of color. They will not even look good way more freer you when you enter their store. The elderly gentlemen are really rude when asked to assistance and if you are not 100% knowledgeable of your firearm, they will dismiss you and move to the next person. I've had this happen to me all 3 times I've been here and now I will never return. They should be careful there is already nothing on the shelves. read more

I go to wild west with my dad or friends atleast twice a month and i can honestly say its one of the best indoor ranges i've been to. It can get busy depending on when you go, we like early sundays, before 2 when the classes get out on the range. Usually we don't have to wait but even if you do there is plenty of stuff to look at. The range is well ventilated and of a good size, you can shoot anything from .22lr up to .45acp, they even have two lanes for .357 magnum which get noisey but fun. The store is good. Their prices tend to be about $50 more than some other shops around town and their selection is a little small compared to places like Adventure Outdoors but they're far more customer friendly and willing to answer any questions and handle any guns that you may want to look at. They also have a good selection of accessories and cleaning supplies (mostly for handguns, not so much for rifles or shotguns). The staff is super, they're all very knowledgable and friendly and seem to have a real passion for their products and won't steer you wrong. read more

This place was great. The staff are more than friendly and knowledgeable. I was kicking around the idea of purchasing a gun for a while and decided to shop around and stumbled across WWT. Compared to the other huge gun store I went to I prefer WWT much more. The staff was much friendlier and actually looked like they wanted to be there and help you with looking / selecting the gun for you. My first point of contact for the store was Gunny. I went in looking for a gun on a budget and he directed to me to the manufacturers around that area with quality also in mind. After speaking with him and being a person who has never shot a gun before I realized I knew far to little about the subject. I signed up for the basic gun training class and could not have been happier with the knowledge I took away. Gunny taught the class with range time included and afterward I was no longer nervous around the gun I purchased even though it was a larger caliber than I used during the class. I toured a few gun stores on my hunt for my new hobby hangout and I couldn't be happier at WWT. They are even open on Sundays which makes it a lot easier. The prices are amazing by comparison and you just cant beat a positive vibe from the staff. I plan on spending many a dollar and hour in the facility at the shop and range. I hope you will give them a look, you will not be disappointed. If i could give more stars I would. read more

I've never had to wait for a lane, and staff have always been friendly when letting me browse whatever they've got in the cabinet. The place is not new, but it's accessible. I had never touched a gun before, but wanted to try shooting a gun. As a safety girl I decided to take a gun safety course and this place came up first in google. Gunny, a former marine, led the class and he was very knowledgeable and professional. He took us through the state laws as they relate to guns, the mechanics of guns, the different types of guns, the different types of ammunition and shooting fundamentals. He talked us through how to grip the gun and how to stand and sight and fire. We then got to select a gun and he took us into the range to try firing the guns. I choose to fire a 9 mm glock. The amount of recoil from this gun was surprising and a little scary. Gunny did spend extra time with those of us who had never fired a gun before. I appreciated his help, but I think the recoil was a little too much for me. I am still not a gun person and don't think I'll be buying a gun soon, but I highly recommend their gun safety class. I know a lot more about guns now and even what to look for if I ever decide to purchase one. read more

Excellent indoor shooting range! I was visiting the area and wanted to get some range time in and found this indoor shooting range. The facility is well lit and ventilated and the target area booths are nice and roomy with plenty of space to keep your ammo and accessories close at hand. The staff members were very helpful showing me how to use the target hangers and for a non member, you can't beat $12 for unlimited shooting time. Really good folks work here and they have a good assortment of firearms if you are renting although my wife usually brings hers. The price on target and ammunition is pretty fair. One thing we really like is they offer classes and help for anyone less experienced. I know all ranges should but you would be surprised to find how many do not. My wife and I took the safety class with Gunny a couple of weeks ago. He and the class were absolutely awesome. We've been back to the range several times to rent guns to help us make up our minds. Most of the staff was very helpful. They answered all of our questions and gave us some advice. Wes, Evan, Gunny and Colby are awesome!! I normally shop online; however, Gunny inspired me to support the local shop. I like the range and the range officers; however, the manager's approach to customer service could be significantly improved. Range membership includes a $25 discount on a new gun. The range lighting is horrible. It's been an ongoing issue they don't fix. The also don't seem to have central air in the range. In the winter, it's freezing cold and in the summer it's hot as hell. I've yet to see someone sweeping up brass even if it's hardly empty in there. Gun prices are higher than other places. I've yet to see them price under Adventure Outdoors. Most of the time, they don't even match it. Ammo selection is small and not cheap. Practice ammo is way overpriced. I guess that's how they make money. Adventure Outdoors has Federal American Eagle 9mm for $10.99 for box of 50. Only good thing about this place is $10 for an hour on the range. Believe me, it feels like your shooting at a $10/hr range. read more

This is easily the best deal for a gun range in a 25 mile radius. Fees are $12 per shooter ALL DAY while most ranges charge even more per hour. The only downside is that you must use their frangible ammunition if you want to shoot rifle calibers. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. read more

I've been here several times by now, but I'll review my last visit. The mister and I went around to a handful of stores, trying to find and purchase a gen 4 Glock 19. We were just about to give up until we used our Yelp app to find Wild West Traders nearby where we were currently at. We called them up to see if they had any in stock, since they were sold out everywhere else or were on backorder for at least a couple of weeks. Finally we were in luck! You have the option of "holding" a purchase by giving them your credit card over the phone, but we decided to take our chances and drive over, in hopes that it doesn't get sold from under our noses again (like the first place we went to). We arrived several minutes later and ended up walking out with a brand new Glock. Yay! read more

First time shooting a hand gun, and thanks to Wild West Traders it won't be my last! My husband and I came with friends of ours who owns a pistol for us to practice with. We came on a Saturday and it wasn't busy. The place down the road had an hr wait! These guys took us in right away and gave us the run down on how shooting ranges work. They have other guns for you to try. We brought our eye and ear wear so didn't need to purchase some, but they have them there if you need to. Prices are affordable. Took my boyfriend for his birthday. Used a Groupon that included for two people, a gun, and 2 targets. Had to purchase amunition separately. We also brought our own gun. I've had a membership pass for almost a year to use the indoor shooting range. You can even fire shotguns here! The guys behind the counter are always friendly, polite and helpful. Prices on guns, ammo and accessories are good, too. Also the other shooters on the range have always been courteous. My wife had never fired a handgun so we took the gun safety class together from Gunny. We had fun and he taught her to shoot with confidence. I took a gun safety class there on 5/12/18. I was very impressed with the facility and the staff. It's a non intimating, but competent place for new gun owners as well as experienced shooters. Staff is professional and courteous. Shot out to the class leader Gunny and the assistant Kendall. They are very knowledge about all things related to guns and personal safety. They were also very patient and gave me the extra assistance I needed during the class. I will definitely be back. My goal is to eventually become a sharp shooter. read more

I am definitely here to review & praise the "Gun Safety & Familiarization" Class offered @ Wild West Traders. FYI - I have limited feedback to provide about the actual store/range. I did hear mixed opinions from folks that frequent this store for ammo and range time so... SO, ABOUT THE CLASS: If you are a female (Like me) and you want to beef up your knowledge-base of personal defense and learn about gun safety - THIS IS THE BEST CLASS you can take to get your feet wet. HANDS DOWN. I'll tell ya - the accolades are directed towards the instructor, Gunny Herren 100%. Never have 4hrs of class time been so much fun! Gunny's energy & dedication makes me love the 2nd Amendment (and I'm a Chick)! My boyfriend bought me the "Gun Safety & Familiarization" class as a stocking stuffer for Christmas and OMG - This class was awesome. Gunny is very clear and concise about the material covered and he asks you several times throughout the class time portion - if you understand or have any questions about the material covered. I won't give away anything about this class because it's totally worth it to take it and hear it straight from the best qualified and most personable guy, Gunny Herren. Once we made it from the classroom to the range - It was my 1st time holding a gun - let alone shooting one! I wasn't nervous and Gunny didn't rush anyone. He gave personal attention to everyone in this class and it was a packed class - I assure you. When I finally got up to "pop" my firearm cherry - it was a piece of cake and it was SO EXHILARATING!! Gunny was as happy as I was when I fired off my 1st shots. I tell you - under other instruction from anyone else and I may not have dug it as much. But holy cow - just as Gunny said, "This sure beats bowling ANY DAY!" Ladies - this guy can teach you EVERYTHING about personal safety.
