I checked the app. I checked the website. Nothing. Until one fateful day, I walked in and spoke to a wonderfully friendly and helpful woman at the self-checkout area (her name escapes me, curse my memory) who pointed me toward another kind soul. We had a lovely conversation that ended with me leaving my contact info so she could let me know when the pops arrived. Days passed. I grew sad. I grew scared. Would I ever taste these mythical pops? Then I checked the app, and lo and behold -- it said they were in stock! I clocked out of work and rushed over (at a safe and legal speed, of course) only to be met with sadness and disappointment. Empty shelves. But just as I have faith in the gods, I had faith in my new savior, whose name also escapes me. We talked. We laughed. We nearly cried together as he regaled me with tales of the pops and their elusive whereabouts. Once again, I left my contact info, hope renewed. This time, it wasn't days -- it was hours. My phone rang with the glistening number of Sprouts calling. I missed the call, but the voicemail confirmed it: my savior had delivered. After work, I sped (safely!) to the store once more and walked through its great halls... only to find nothing on the shelf. Again. So I found the nearest employee, who pointed me to another employee, who finally had an answer. He disappeared into the back and emerged with an ENTIRE BOX of the pops I'd sought for what felt like a lifetime. He offered me the whole box. "Dear friend," I said, "I cannot deprive other pop-seekers of this delicacy." I humbly took two, and rode off into the sunset. 9/10 ice cream. 9/10 staff. 9/10 quest. Would embark again.

I've come in twice recently, once before a challenge and once after the challenge commenced. The challenges used to be free, but they're $10 now. I obliged hoping the owner lady would be less skeptical of me. The first time I came in. She offered other people a couple of samples to perhaps help them with whatever needs weren't met on their scans. Me? Nothing. I looked them over and gathered two with which I thought would perhaps replace or supplement the products I'm already using. She eyed me weird. Can't explain it. But I let it go. The next time my wife and I came in after paying the fee and signing up online. She greeted us and asked if we were here to scan. We said yes. It's pretty obvious she's sizing us up. I figured it was just to maybe figure out what products to push, but instead she asked several times if we had signed up...and "did we pay online orrrr..." oh boy, so weird. I thought by paying the small fee she would be less weird, but I guess I needed to hold my phone up to her face for proof? She even questioned us regarding what app we paid on, like we were carrying on a big $20 scam. Look the scan is worth it, the products are worth it. I'm just going to leave this here in case anyone else is feeling the same way. Happy lifting everyone!

So, I am not a big cosmetics person and I don't really care what products I use as long as they are…read morenot greasy. So, for me to write a review on a company that makes these kinds of products should tell you something. Well, I am not a big fan of shaving, never have been. After leaving NYC about a decade ago and moving to the Bay Area (San Jose, CA), I found that what you wear and how you look has nothing to do with how you do what you do. People out here don't condemn you if you are not in a suit for work like they do in NY. So, my days of t-shirts and relaxed shaving began. My life is better. However, after growing facial hair for over five days (sometimes seven), shaving is a real problem. I am kinda tired of electric. Using a blade (I use that four blade thing with the strip on top) with a gel shaving cream still irritates the hell out of my face...I'm sensitive!!!! Well, when I was visiting my friend Micah in Worcester, I did not have the travel cream. His wife Iris let me use an organic product she picked up...the "Creamy Shave Gel" from Nature's Gate. I don't know what to say. It's like I didn't even put a blade to my face. I have now been using it exclusively as my shaving solution and I have not had a problem since. I mean, I used to dread having to shave after five days. Now, no big deal. It's like my skin does not even know the blades are even there! I included a shot of the type of beard I am talking about. Please do not be scared!

I use their AquaBlock also, which claims to offer 8 hour waterproof protection, but is a little greasier than the dry sunblock SportBlock. Nature's Gate sunscreens are cruelty free, very important. And they do the job! Update: 8/16: Bummer! I just found out they discontinued the SportBlock. Can't imagine why! Well, the other varieties are still available and even have spiffy new packaging.
